  1. Brianna has the highest chance of staying out of her abusive relationship, meanwhile Kayla is probably far from done with Stephon, despite him leaving another girl's underwear in his laundry!

Jade would be smart to patch things up with Scott - she doesn't have much of a support system otherwise.

And Lexi. Sigh, Lexi. Kyler treats her horribly. She needs to play hard to get if she is so intent on keeping him.

These girls are sooo much more interesting than Teen Mom 2.

  2. I loved Carole's blog and I hope she keeps writing them.

During all these conversations about Tinsley being somehow ungrateful for staying at Gray Gardens (she wasn't), it must have been so hard for her not to break the fourth wall and say that she only stayed there as a plot contrivance for the show.

As far as Adam, maybe he couldn't afford to go to PR on his own dime and/or had other work commitments. I can't hate him for that, especially because of his other charitable endeavors in South America.

  3. Bethenny said, "You're a drunk." I use closed captioning, plus it was plain as day. Don't know why a self proclaimed "straight shooter" like Beth would try to claim differently.

I despise Bethenny but I respect her efforts in Puerto Rico. And Michael Caponi was the king of the South Beach nightclub scene in the 90s - I'm glad he's turned his life into doing good works. That's really admirable.

I'm in the minority, but I still like Carole.

  4. Re Eric's original crimes, IIRC the gas cans were to be used for boat fuel for smuggling. I'm not sure if Eric knew if the gas would be used for human or drug smuggling. The smugglers set the boat on fire when the authorities got near. This isn't to absolve Eric, but he didn't know people were going to be deliberately burned alive.

  5. I don't hate Connor as much as many do, because I think Ray and Abby are shit parents.

Despite his blather about family, Ray's never shown an interest in his son. And Abby shrugs off her breast cancer news once again. Being a mother is her main identity, but she doesn't care about sticking around for her kids.

  6. I'm with Lu. They're not happy for her. Coming on the heels of Bethenny's attack in the Berkshires, it's obvious they are fixated on her.

The reason Beth stepped out with that hideous clutch purse/art project thingie is because she hires girls whose main job is to agree with her, and listen to her monologue. No one dares to speak up with anything constructive.

I even kind of snicker that Beth has no friends. You reap what you sow. Her driver, an employee, is her main confidant.

  7. I was shocked that it was Nolan who burned down the restaurant. I knew that Danny's investors torching their own investment (clearly looking like arson, so no insurance money) didn't make sense, but Nolan never occurred to me.

Not for nothing, but being a chef and owning and operating your own restaurant in Miami Beach is a big accomplishment. Danny had it in him to succeed under the right circumstances.

Papa Rayburn bought Kevin's marina and paid for Meg's law school. Too bad he was so bitter about Nolan the bastard child. Which still doesn't make sense to me. How is that a big deal in this day and age?

I agree that the actor who plays Nolan is fantastic. They did a great job casting this show.

I was proud of Kevin for pulling it together and acing that police interview. When he said, "I can't do this anymore," I totally fell for it and thought he was confessing.

Lastly, I kind of chuckled at Ozzy, the sympathetic blackmailer: "Look, I've been here, and I know it sucks..."

  8. Wow,  this episode. Not much "action" per se, but so much story.

Diana's series of light bulb moments, leading up to her final realization at the domestic violence meeting.

And John's own epiphany at the meeting about his own family dynamic of domestic violence. That's when he makes the statement that underlines the whole show:

"That violence lies within all of us. We're all capable of it."

I never watched Friday Night Lights, but Kyle Chandler deserves ALL the acting awards for Bloodline. His wordless confession to Diana was brilliant. The stark fear and shame in the way he slumped his shoulders... Damn....

  9. I think Janey acted totally realistically and not bratty, considering the pieces of the story she was told. Whereas I think it's unrealistic to be so cold toward a newly discovered family member.

So he showed up when Danny died - so what? That's exactly when you would show up. When your father went to the Keys and never came back.

The slap - both a generational thing and a Rayburn thing.

Love John Leguizamo sleazing his way around the joint.

PS The sackcloth "dress" Eve got for Janey was hideous. Guess I'm not up to date on kid's fashion!
