They can't do that and maintain the relatively upbeat tone of the MCU. Let's be honest - both Snaps should have been catastrophic events with repercussions lasting for decades. The sad thing is the first Snap would have been easier to recover from after the initial shock and aftermath. Instantly needing double the resources, space, etc. is a lot harder to deal with than having a massive surplus. Then there are all the personal relationships and trauma that would ensue from the dusted popping back into existence.

We only have Lois's word for that. Given their personalities, I can easily see Clark being that chill, cautious driver who stays in the right lane and follows the speed limit while Lois is begging him to speed up.

For a limited time you could have people pulling extra shifts instead of cosplaying in the holodeck. A lot of the science personnel don't need to be there if the goal is to unravel a conspiracy instead of exploring strange new worlds. Fewer people means a smaller medical staff is OK. It just means you're screwed if stuff starts to break and automation fails (i.e. like in Trek III when Kirk and friends commandeered the Enterprise).

A Betazoid would be very handy - unless this has changed as well, Changelings can't be read by them. So Troi's vague feeling (or lack thereof) will be a meaningful contribution this time!
Geordi's the most likely to have some connections to the Daystrom Institute, plus he might be irked about his daughter being a fugitive. Maybe Leah Brahms works there and can be killed at the end of the episode.

This reminds me of Kendrys Morales. He hit a walk-off grand slam and when he made it to home plate he leaped up, landed awkwardly, and broke his leg, and subsequently missed the rest of that season AND the following one. He had some success afterwards, but he was never the same. This is why players don't jump at home plate anymore.
That was the first of many, many crappy Angels seasons after a very successful start to the decade.

Beltran was offered a role as Seven's alternate husband in season 2. As mentioned above, it makes no sense to have him here. Seven's around despite her lack of connection to TNG because she was the breakout character of Voyager, and Janeway was the lead of the show. Chakotay was one of the least memorable characters (in my opinion, behind at least Seven, Janeway, the Doctor, Torres, and Tuvok).

It's very convenient that Picard's loyal old crew just happen to be on the nearest ship in range. I wasn't expecting to see Ro, and Starfleet is pretty forgiving if they were willing to overlook that whole defection to the Maquis thing.
Janeway is name dropped again - I wonder if we'll see her before this is all said and done to bail out our heroes, especially because we know this show isn't going to end with Picard, Riker, and Seven tossed in a penal colony for their actions.

I assume that GG and CP were very happy to get a full episode's pay for a little bit of easy work. And how much time has passed? Iris's hair looks significantly longer, but she isn't showing yet.
I cannot believe it took them so long to investigate why Becky's powers suddenly reversed themselves. Wouldn't the inexplicable switch be the first thing to look into?
You know, it's a shame Cecile doesn't know someone who can run her to Joe and Jenna's in the blink of an eye regardless of where he happens to be at the moment. That sure would be handy, especially if that person happened to be Jenna's brother in law. Although maybe she's the one person who doesn't know he's the Flash because they're worried she might accidentally blab the truth that Barry is happy to intentionally reveal all the time.

The characters all act as if the procedure would have worked, and that the doctor was the one and only person able to develop the cure, so it really was Joel dooming humanity because he couldn't bear to lose Ellie. No one ever points out the many, many reasons why the whole plan was idiotic.

Eh, it'll all be forgotten. Isn't GB pretty fond of Favre despite how he ended his time there and all of the crap he's pulled in retirement? Speaking of which, should the Vikings be prepping for Rodgers in 2024?
As for GB, they've had Favre and Rodgers as their starting QB for 30 years and managed just two SB titles with three appearances total. That feels like an underachievement.

Lois burst in on Jon and his girlfriend making out in his bedroom last season. Maybe they weren't actually planning to do the deed, but they were doing more than just giving each other a peck on the lips. We also flashed back to Lois and Clark on their honeymoon.

So, is the mysterious masked person this Earth's resurrected John Henry Irons? Sure, he's supposed to be dead, but apparently that's not a big deal. Plus it cuts down on the guest star budget.
Jordan should design a mask, or start wearing glasses. There's always the chance an emergency pops up.

Exactly - his reaction to Marlene telling him her plans wasn't to point out how nonsensical it would be to kill Ellie, or rant about giving her a choice, or the impossibility of manufacturing/distributing the cure, or anything like that. Instead he said find someone else, which strongly implies he'd be OK with someone who wasn't his surrogate daughter being chopped up for the good of humanity.
Maybe there's a scientist living in Jackson who can explain all of the reasons why their plan was crap, but in Joel's mind he massacred the Fireflies and doomed humanity because he couldn't bear to lose Ellie. A part of him also knows Ellie would not be OK with that choice, hence the lie about it. It would be kind of anticlimatic if he told her and she ended up giving him a big hug.

There's an easy way to know, go to youtube and watch a walkthrough of part 2. Yes, they'll likely deviate from the game in places, but it seems unlikely they'll change the major events.

And we can be pretty sure that Ellie doesn't give off cordyceps-influenced pheromones, because the dog in Jackson didn't recognize her as infected.
It also minimizes the utility of the cure. Great, you won't turn if you get a small bite, so in a one-on-one fight you have a much better chance of surviving. Unfortunately, the infected are still happy to rip you to shreds and they vastly outnumber you. It's not as simple as "we have guns!" because if that were the case the battle would have been over a long time ago.

I found the ending frustrating also, but still thought it was well done overall. Playing as Abby was a twist, too.
This is why I wonder how season 2 will go. Playing a video game with the player character being someone you loathe is one thing - it's easier to just forget it and move on since ultimately you're shooting your way through the infected and even worse human beings. Plus the money for the game has already been spent (although that doesn't stop people from burning jerseys and shoes when they get pissed at an athlete). Watching a TV show humanize a character you hate is very different, and it's easier to just change the channel.

I can certainly see why Druckmann hasn't spent a decade on ruminating how to change the ending when it was already so well received.
We know in real life that their method of jumping straight to carving out Ellie's brain is idiotic, but this is also a world where gas still works after 20 years, you can look healthy after walking across the country, can survive getting stabbed in the gut with minimal care, etc., so I agree that were meant to believe the surgery was supposed to yield a cure. I also think we're supposed to believe that Ellie would choose to sacrifice herself if given the choice.

The episode was built on no one telling Ellie anything and making decisions based on what they felt was best. Marlene thought dissecting Ellie was the one and only way to save the world, so why tell her she's going to be chopped up? Joel couldn't bear to lose his new surrogate daughter, so why risk telling Ellie and give her the choice to sacrifice herself. Then afterwards he probably decided, aside from his own fears that she'd hate him, there was no reason to tell her the truth because all of the resulting angst wouldn't revive the gaggle of bodies he left behind (although it would be ironic if the two nurses he presumably let live give a detailed description of him to anyone wanting revenge). He wouldn't be the first parent to lie to his kid to try and protect them.

Joel and Ellie walked from KC to Wyoming. If Marlene had a car beating them would have been a piece of cake, plus Joel is proof that a gut wound isn't a big deal in this world.
On the one hand, being chased by an infected and then fighting them off when you're in labor is horrifying. On the other, it means you can deliver a child so quickly you don't notice until the baby is crying on the floor.
