I dont think Clayton was pretending to be anything... he has done nothing but non-stop kissing and fondling of (almost) every woman in touching distance from the start of the season. He hasn´t talked much about getting married or anything deep like that. There have been bachelors pretending to be really morally superior, like Matt and that is much worse imo.

Matt was in the best of the bunch we’ve had as far as his treatment of the women. I didn’t like his choice but He didn’t sleep with anyone in the fantasy suites or tell the other two he loved them. He also let F2 go early. He is also still with F1. And I wouldn’t be shocked if he married her. That would put him in the lonely category of bachelors who married their final choice with Sean Lowe.

  2. I really liked this episode. Kept me entertained and on edge. And let's face it Stabler always shines when protecting victims!

Like last season, took a few eps for this show to grip me but it's ON now.

Isn't there a full 22 eps order this time? Not sure how it can maintain this level of intensity.

Maybe being a single mom to a special needs baby helped her drive to succeed at work, because she needed to be the sole provider for him?

I don't know....it is really interesting to think about how small changes can have such a big impact on so many other people.

I thought she was a district attorney as a single mom. That’s state government attorney.  She made partner at a corporate law firm without the child, so more successful or much wealthier I should say without him.

    Poor memories by the show-runners.

well Noah looks nothing like baby Noah.

I actually dont remember what baby Eli looked like or ever seeing him. I do think this kid looks a little like Stabler and I like they are at least attempting to make him look Italian. I would say he's second to Kathleen as far as looking like a stabler. The others they casted are way off to me.

  5. ^The son sounded like a weak fool for being all wistful over a man who wouldn't spit on him if he was on fire. At first, I thought he didn't know he was racist and wanted nothing to do with them for being black, but NOPE. He knew. Pathetic. Hopefully the sister inherits the gang or whatever Richard passes down. I wouldn't be surprised if the son doesn't make it through the season.

I forgot to mention the fake date scene with Stabler. I thought it was hilarious. Meloni's facial expressions were great. Stabler on a date is now something I need. I liked the guest actress too. Maybe she'll be back.

  6. ^ I actually thought they were living above their means. Looks like they are in a secured building, from Olivia's meeting with him in the lobby, and higher up, in NY, with a decent amount of space for I'm guessing a two bedroom. I assumed he didn't make that much as a detective. But I guess he only has one kid to take care of now so he can afford higher rent. I remember he and Kathy had a house in queens.

Olivia's place is nice but still kind of small and she's a captain. That's NY

  7. I really like this show. The hr flew by. I like Stabler and Wheatley. I like most of Wheatley's family too (I can tell the son will annoy me). He and the ex are fire.

I like the new hacker girl.

The boss has a good rapport with Stabler already. The ex partner is totally a mole, right?

Olivia has bothered me for years on SVU but I like her on OC; it's weird. She's written a little differently on this show and Mariska shows up to act with Chris. Even Noah is cuter on this show.

Christopher Meloni really showed how amateurish this current cast is. Peter Scanacini especially needs acting lessons. Yikes. He is walking white privilege. If he weren’t white, he would not have a career. Meloni is a truly brilliant actor with natural charisma and presence. If I were Scanacrapi, I would quit after being shamed by Meloni like that. Scanashitti needs to quit the show and give up acting. Honestly though, how does he have a career?

OMG I thought it was me.

the lady who plays Amanda was totally unbelievable as a cop when she was interrogating the suspect. The fact that she is second lead is mind blowing

This is what I liked about Eliot and why I was so very happy to see he and Kathy were still married.

Even though they weren't on display, I do believe they were "in love" and their love is what I would call a mature love. We found out they knew each other since they were 13 and 14. They build a life together. Yes they had their problems but neither one quit and I like that and it's one of the reasons I think they were "in love".

I have a different definition of "in love."  Commitment to a marriage has nothing to do with it.  My grandparents were married until one died and birthed 13 children and were not "in love." In fact, they hated each other by the time I was borne, and my mother said their marriage was so bad it convinced her to never marry. They were religious and committed to marriage and building. That is Elliot and Kathy. Elliot did what he believed was right. And we don't really know Kathy but she was a stay at home mom with five kids and limited options. She left but came right on back once seeing what was out there. Stabler married her after knocking her up at a young age because it was the right thing to do and that's why he stayed.

Elliot and Kathy were still written as emotionally disconnected despite being away. She didn't trust he wasn't lying about not talking to Olivia. He was lying about how complicated his job was. And spent more time away from her bed than was necessary after she was blown up.

I agree that Meloni slid back into the role like it was nothing. I'm torn between appreciating they acknowledged the Stabler crossed the line several times in a way that shouldn't work now and thinking they hit that angle too hard too many times to try and make a point.

I do think Olivia and Elliott had an emotional affair, particularly when he was separated from Kathy, and I also felt like later Meloni played it like he fell back into old habits with Kathy rather than really wanted to stay married to her. I can see why he'd feel the need to separate from Olivia if he really wanted to make a go of his marriage, but I personally would have found it more believable if he and Kathy had separated years ago rather than needing to kill her and make her his perfect wife martyr in order to remove her from his life. I'm disappointed they killed her; those two hadn't struck me as having such a stable marriage that they wouldn't have gotten divorced (since indeed once they came extremely close). They didn't need to kill this woman who has five children to keep her off the show and keep Elliott single or whatever.

I do like that on his new show he stuck up for himself and asserted he was a good cop to his new boss.

Elliot could never leave Kathy. Being a married man was always a part of his appeal, even to Olivia. It showed loyalty and commitment. He was a foil to the creepy pervs they caught each week and the ones Olivia dated.  If he was single when they met, Olivia probably wouldn't have even liked him. He was the protective and committed Dad/Husband who wouldn't hurt a woman or child that she wanted. Kathy would've had to be the one to file. But even though they never portrayed the Stablers as "in love,"  they no doubt loved each other; they had five kids and Kathy, to my memory, was a housewife; they started when they were teens. Where was she going? Good luck finding another man to protect and provide for you and your many kids and is actually committed to you (could keep it in his pants too) . She wasn't trying to go back on the dating market.

To be fair, OC is new blood. Even with two more seasons (as this was renewed for three) to go, this show, while still having a devoted audience, is fast running out of gas. So focusing on the new kid seems actually like a wise move since Dick Wolf seems to want this franchise to live on in whatever form in perpetuity.

The cast sucks IMO. It's been forever and I still don't care about Amanda or Carisi. It's just not happening for them. They stuck Olivia with duds IMO. I care about Dylan and his two mob wives more than I care about anyone on SVU except Olivia. Love Finn but he and Mariska are coasting and the rest can't carry a show.

  12. Ok. I wasn't sure about this in the first twenty minutes when stabler was dealing with the janky international crew but clearly they were just temporary and that's why they were stiff and boring. But the son and the crime family really took this thing up a notch! And Dylan might just steal this show from Meloni.

The Ferris wheel and professor twist convinced me...I'm easy

So many words about Olivia and Elliot but think that is more appropriate for the SVU forum

  13. I’ve finally caught up. Every single couple is a bad match. I’m surprised Brianna is tolerating Vincent. She must have been doing real bad in the dating market.

Ryan is just not into Clare. And as far as the other sexual favors happening, Clare is likely leading those. I don’t like how I’ve seen (other places) people saying Ryan is making her perform oral sex. I’m sure Clare is volunteering and attempting to get other things started and failing. I don’t think Clare is his type physically, spiritually, mentally, in any way. He probably thinks she is trashy.

I don’t want to talk about Chris and Paige. They are both ridiculous. I might hate Paige more.

Zero surprise here Erik is unraveling

The other couple isn’t worth discussing.

I think it's the new "the thing" since they did the same with Tayisha. Dude with the mustache was in the second group and caused drah-mah. I've already forgotten his name. Maybe they brought all the new guys in for Clare, not that it matters. I've already forgotten that entire season.

Well that was because tayshia didn’t start the season and Clare sent home a number of guys already so they wanted to give her a fuller cast

matt feels like he has too many women. The group date last week was packed and this week it still felt like a lot of filler girls remained even though he sent home five. Now it looks like we’re getting five more and I remember a preview showing Heather’s arrival.

  15. This episode was just bad. Matt is awkward and had zero chemistry with anyone this week.

I see why tptb force him to keep awful Victoria because what else would there to be to talk about if not for her Sarah confrontation?

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s inexperienced with women. Maybe if he embraced his nerdiness  it would be endearing. But he plays cool which doesn’t work without the charm. Ladies man he is not, which would be good if he was commitment oriented but he’s not that either.

My interest in Matt is dropping.  I was excited at first and thought he was a great choice.  He is still OK.  But I don't think he is the great catch anymore.  I enjoy riding ATVs.  I just don't understand why a guy would drive so reckless with an inexperienced rider on the back.  This is suppose to be a woman he cares about.  Yet he really put her in danger.  Not cool Matt.  Then there is the kissing.  Yuck.  I just hate to watch him kiss.  He looks so sloppy when he is kissing.  I am another one that would not enjoy sitting around talking about family and faith with him.  Those really seem to be his subjects of interest.  His looks just are not enough to keep me interested.  He definitely has a great body.  I just don't think his face is anything special.

I could tell he was not into Bri by his actions during the date so I was surprised by certain recappers shipping them. Before tipping her over, he was zig zagging quickly in front of her and splashing her with the mud. Then after she asked to get on his bike (I noticed he didn’t ask her to hop on) he proceeds to act like a teen and tip it over.

Matt would be more attractive with just a tad of charisma. It doesn’t help that some of us just watched Tayshia. I understand everyone wasn’t a fan but she could work a room and make each man believe she was into him.

Matt is starting to bore the crap out of me. He lacks that "It" factor that some guys manage to show off on a show like this. If he was in a group of contestants on The Bachelorette, I would find him undistinctive. He nice, but vanilla. Dare I say basic? Family/faith, faith/family, reverse, repeat ad nauseum.

The bachelor used to be thought of more as the "most eligible bachelor" type, a sophisticated jetsetter, a renaissance man, well educated, well traveled, with money in the bank, a variety of interests and able to speak on numerous topics, while playfully flirting with a variety of women. I miss that idea for this show. That was early days, when we got Aaron, who could play the piano and owned his own bars, and Andrew, the vineyard heir.

    I

I was listening to a podcast and the guest asked if Matt was the hottest bachelor. He then asked if he was the most eligible. The female host said, “well...no...not most eligible. I prefer a man with a career...call me traditional.” Having a job is such a basic thing. I don’t dislike Matt and understand he’s still “figuring it out.” But the show chose a guy who admitted he was broke in NY before this and that’s why he didn’t date much before the show. And I follow him on social media and I don’t even think he has the job he used to before he was chosen. (What are these people going to do if instagram crashes and they can’t shill?)

So you have all these beautiful women, who must have one or two good options in real life if not several, lining up to date a guy who doesn’t have a job and hadn’t dated much because he was broke (so no money in the bank) and likely isn’t close to ready for marriage. And I’m not seeing any charisma to make up for it. Poor thing is so awkward he kisses with his eyes open.

  18. Does Matt like any of these women? The one on ones bored me to pieces. I saw a bit of spark between him and the black attorney but she seems too smart for him (sorry Matt fans). I don’t see him picking nice and normal Abigail.

I can’t believe the producers thought any of this was entertaining. Victoria is one of the most vile people I’ve seen in this franchise. She’s only second to that jack*ass from Ashley’s season.

Wow I can’t believe he cut the ballerina and had to keep Victoria Queen of the unfortunate looking

Same and dildo girl and other unfortunate looking women!

Matt seemed uncomfortable the whole time which I guess could be expected because the cameras are new to him. But his discomfort made me feel uncomfortable. Also he seemed to cringe every time someone brought up he was black...

His tastes are very different than mine because he didn't seem to like most of the women except Abigail and another brunette. There were some women I thought were stunning he barely looked at.

The promo has me leaning toward no engagement.

  20. The more I think about it the more I think Ivan just wanted to stay longer. I don’t know that I buy that he thought it wasn’t a big deal. Why would you not bring that up to the Christian bachelorette the second you think you might actually like each other to see if it’s a dealbreaker? Oh, I can think of a reason...he knew she would send him home

I’m sorry I’m jaded from this franchise. I can’t hold Brendan and Ben to the fire for just wanting more tv time and not Ivan because he looks...young and sweet. Most who come on this show have zero interest in marriage (in recent seasons) He very well could’ve kept it to himself because he didn’t want to get sent home before he could get his followers and shot at bachelor. And tbh I never bought he was falling in love with tayshia, not even when he finally said it before the fantasy date. Every year the audience buys into someone as genuine that was not.

If she did, the producers decided to edit all of that out - maybe her suitors knew, but we, the viewers, who are the money behind the show, knew nothing about this, which is what annoys me, because the editing took place after all the recording so they deliberately left us with no context. Seriously, us bachelor franchise watchers ask for so little (and expect so little) but context matters.

Thus, the reason for the split between Ivan and Tayshia about religion left so many of us scratching our heads.

I knew from her time on Colton’s season. That said, I do think the show might have been concerned about two years of religion talk in a row (Luke and Hannah and Madi and Peter) A good part of the audience is not Christian and doesn’t want to hear the lead or contestants talking about their views. And this year we had a contestant, Ivan, that didn’t want to talk about his views. Even if we saw the scenes of tayshia, we still would not have known Ivan’s because he purposefully didn’t talk about it on camera. So there’s no winning decision.
