Just got off the phone with my SIL (the doctor.) He's keeping track of my nephew in the hospital (through his connections) and is helping my niece get information. He said they just had to intubate my nephew. I have to admit I started freaking out, but he said "look at it this way, mom..at least he *got* a ventilator..people in the coming weeks might not be able to get one." That thought did NOT calm me down! 😱 😭😕 (he has no bedside manner, our whole family knows this, and we're glad he is on the corporate side of medicine now)🙄

There are some evil,evil people in the world. 😁 We've been working on a Christmas themed jigsaw puzzle since right after the holidays. For MONTHS. We just could NOT DO IT. We finally realized that that some sick f#@k had donated a puzzle with TWO totally different (but with very similar, glittered looking pieces) to Goodwill in the same dang box! (It felt SO good to throw it away today!!) I really wanted to kill it with fire! 😂😂😂😂😂

Thank you. I asked her if they were going to test her family, and she said no...that they told her that they didn't have enough tests for that (it's just her, and their two daughters,btw.) I asked her, well then did they at least tell you to warn all your friends and family that he does have it ,so they can watch out for symptoms themselves..and she said they no..they didn't. I can understand not being able to test the throngs of people he interacted with at O'Hare Airport...but his small family of three?! C'mon. 😕

I'm on the phone with my niece right now. Her husband did test positive for Covid-19. I really thought (and hoped) it wasn't going to be true, because he's a bit of a hypochondriac and is always running to the doctor with the slightest sniffle.

AUDIBLE announced all kid's audiobooks are free while school is closed. This might be a good option for story time/bed time? Also, I have Dish Network, and they sent me an email that said they were adding different channels free in the coming weeks while we all have to stay home. They do this every month anyway, but this time there's some good channels added!😂 You might want to check to see if your TV provider is doing something similar. (I wouldn't have known about it except for that email.) Ps..for those of you that have Dish..these are NOT listed on the preview channel...they just suddenly "appeared" (like, all of a sudden I have ALL the Showtime channels) hope I'm making sense)

The librarians here were pissed (with good reason!) that the libraries were at first going to be made to stay open when the schools closed down...so the kids with working parents "would have a place to go." WTAF?! People who work in libraries have families too!

My husband is talking to her on the phone right now. She sounds exhausted, but in good spirits. She just said he's feeling better from how he felt this morning. He is in quarantine. I'm eavesdropping (in Spanish) 🤣 more: they all had to leave right after they admitted him to the hospital...couldn't even say goodbye face to face, because he's in isolation. They were told to all stay home until the test results come back..and OFC they stopped at the grocery store on the way home..WTH...some people are so f'ing d.U.M.b.😱 (I could have left that last part out to make the optics better, but I'm nothing if not honest.)😭

Bad news, my nephew-in-law (who is around 43yo) was just admitted to a Chicago hospital with all the Covid-19 symptoms. They did test him, but it will take 48-72 hrs for the results to come back. He works at O'Hare airport as a gate agent, just like my daughter, but with a different company, and works international flights. (Does anyone else feel like they're a....ping pong ball or something?) I don't know how else to describe this feeling.

I think everyone here should get a couple of weeks worth of food and medicine stocked up for you and your family (and pets!) as soon as you can manage to do that. Some people in this country might be on a mandatory lock-down by the end of this weekend..."probably" starting Monday. Maybe it'll turn out to be a big, fat, NOTHINGBURGER, but somebody who should know has been telling me differently. 👮 (I hope I've been misinformed...and I will cheerfully eat my words, if so.) I actually just got a little anxious thinking, "If my internet goes down, I hardly own any "real" books anymore!" I recently "cleaned" out my Kindle because I thought I had too many ebooks...not a good decision in retrospect.😱 I'm going to go download a bunch of ebooks before y'all crash the internet by everybody being at home now.😭🤣😊 PS..did you know you can "buy" older ebooks for free (because their US copyrights have expired.) That's how I had at least a thousand. (I'm not going to hoard toilet paper, I'm going to hoard ebooks) 🙃 Then they are yours and they don't get automatically returned to the library. You can "buy" them from Amazon (sort books from lowest to highest) to find the free ones. Make absolutely sure it says $0.oo and not $0.99 (with teeny little 9's) Or you can go to https://www.gutenberg.org/ which is ALL free..but a little more confusing (to me, at least) ❤ Pps..make sure they're not the ones with Kindle unlimited membership either! Just get the REALLY free ones (I'm cheap and proud of it 😂)

I was a grocery store cashier, and then a pharmacy technician, who also worked the register,for many years. I'll let everyone in on a little secret (that I wish I would have known when I was younger and oh so embarrassable.) None of us cared who you are buying stuff for...even if it's for yourself! The only thing we would laugh about was that it never failed that a customer would let us know in some way or another that "these aren't for *me*, they're for------!" Adult diapers, condoms, lice shampoos,creams for vaginal infections..etc.... We've seen it ALL. 😊 PS *I'm* the overweight lady who loudly proclaims at the register...." oh my grandkids are going to LOVE all these donuts!"😂

If the worst comes to worst..and I completely run out...there's always the cat.🐱 (I'm kidding! I don't have a cat)😁

This really made me laugh. It also reminded me how embarrassed I was to buy anything for myself for my period when I was a teenager...I thought I'd die of shame. So funny to look back on that all now.

My sister, works in a men's...um..not a homeless shelter..but a Christian help center for recovering addicts who were homeless (I'm blanking on the right terminology for the place.) They give them a place to live, and in-house (Christian) counseling as long as they stay sober. My sister did all the intake for all the men, gave them their monthly allowances, etc. The CEO of that company just called her into his office, and today she was MADE to go home, until further notice (with pay!) because he's worried about her due to her "advanced" age. (75yo) HALLELUJAH! 😁 Her even older husband is beside himself with joy..he's been pushing for her to retire ever since they got married 2 years ago (they met on E-Harmony.) This is her SEVENTH husband, btw😂... but I think this one will stick. They both love God, animals, and FISHING, and he's already getting their boat ready to go.😊

Does anyone else feel like they're living in the Twilight Zone? The weirdest feeling for me is wanting to GO somewhere and DO something...and that is usually the last thing on my mind. I'm usually such a homebody.
