you had me until #3- because i really don't want CLQ to be a couple. (I just think we're missing pure friendships and they have a great one).

I see where you're coming from; but I think that TPTB will be going there, and I'm intrigued by the tension that it could create within the story.

You jest, I think, but given how much Frank seems to love Peter, I wouldn't at all be surprised if instead of finally being killed, Peter disappeared so that he can be pulled out again in the future to terrorize us as well as the citizens of Port Charles.

I agree.  Not nearly enough has happened with the Baby Switch for a reveal to happen.  And I don't think that Maxie would be willing expose the switch until after Peter is neutralized.  Here are a few things things that I think will happen before the switch is revealed:

1.) Austin will blackmail Brook Lynn using his knowledge about the switch to get her to withdraw her complaint and stop trying to sabotage his efforts to become involved in ELQ.

2.) Austin and Maxie grow closer with Maxie unaware that he's blackmailing BLQ

3.) Chase and BLQ get together as a couple with Chase developing a step-father type bond with BaileyLou resulting in Valentin becoming jealous/insecure about that relationship causing some kind of conflict or custody battle

It's my lazy way of writing "flashback." There was a recent retconned flashback w/Liz and Nikolas in the GH stairwell where Liz confronted him about putting the hit out on Hayden, and Nikolas claimed that he had just made that up but had never done it. I thought it was the show's way of retconning the entire story but who knows w/these writers.

Was that referring to the fake hit that he made up to get her out of town when he returned from the dead or the real hit from before his non-death?

I never thought I'd see the day when a Jason love interest said, out loud, that she didn't want to be with him specifically because of Carly.  That it was my girl who said it was just a delight.

But again, we have the show pointing out the toxicity of Carly and Jason's...whatever...but is anything actually going to change?  Why are we supposed to invest him in pursuing Britt or Liz or Sam or anyone again now that the truth has been so plainly stated on-screen?

Could that mean that they're actually going to go with Jarly?  🤢🤮

I know that even villains feel like they're the heroes of their own story, but I hope the show isn't trying to sell me on Gabi/Jake being these poor-put upon heroes who need to bring down the big and bad Phillip and Ava. Neither of them would be in this mess if Gabi weren't such a shrew and horrible friend. Like I said before Phillip was a friend to her helping her out with her juvenile schemes to make Jake jealous. Not only was he a friend to her but he helped professionally as well. Gabi was desperate to have some big company help out Gabi Chic after she was booted from DiMera and Phillip took a chance on her. Yes, he didn't do it out of the goodness of his heart, and knew Gabi Chic could help out his company as well, but still... Gabi went after his job, now he's turned the tables on her. But apparently, to those two dolts, Phillip is horrible for not just bending over and taking it.

I also love how Gabi is behaving now like Ava is going after for no reason whatsoever and she can't fathom why. If Gabi didn't go out of her way to be antagonistic to her, Ava wouldn't have felt the need to retaliate. I get that Ava has done some horrible stuff. If Rafe were my brother, I wouldn't want him to have anything to do with her either, but Gabi's over-the-top hate felt way too personal. I wonder if the show is trying to create a new Sami/Nicole rivalry.

This makes me sad, because I really was enjoying Gabi until they paired her with Jake.  I liked her as the vampy schemer, but Jake has really sucked the fun out of her.

Spencer doesn't care about someone being convicted of a crime he didn't commit, especially someone he hates as much as he hates Valentin.

Plus Nikolas' non-murder wasn't for lack of trying on Valentin's part.  He also thought that he'd murdered Nikolas as well.

I have to say that I enjoyed a few things about today's episode.  Looks like there was finally some movement on the stupid and pointless "Who Tried ti Kill Hayden," storyline.  Alexis and Nikolas's conversation was pretty good.  It was nice to see Ava back in HBIC mode.  Also, I enjoyed Britt calmly telling Carly that she wouldn't cede control of her life over to her (because we know that's what would've happened had she given in and taken back up with Jason).  And of course, I really enjoyed the scenes between Spencer and Trina.  I admired the resolve that Trina showed not to give in to Spencer when there were moments where she obviously wanted to.  I want them together, but he done messed and he's gonna have to work for it.

But all of the teens with the exception of Cameron are kind of spoiled. Joss especially with her going out to Charlie's for avocado toast and living on campus even though her home is only five miles away, and Trina getting takeout because she doesn't like campus food.

I'll give you Joss, but how is Trina spoiled?  When I was in college, several of the local restaurants served college students at discounted prices and some were even covered by our meal plans.  Plus she's still working at the art gallery as well.

  8. I really enjoyed today's episode.  I liked the scene between the Westbourne cousins.  Britt as she is now is actually someone that I can legitimately imagine not being really upset with Nina for what she did.  I also enjoyed Britt in her scenes with Spencer.  She seems to have actually learned from her mistakes and is trying to do better.

I also enjoyed the scenes between Portia and Trina.  Portia is serious quoting Maya Angelou.  I know that she's right, but I am still rooting for Spencer and Trina.  Also, did my eyes deceive me or was there a little sparkette of chemistry between Portia and Nikolas in their brief scene at the Metro Court?

I did think that it was weird that Spencer and Esme never mentioned Trina in their whole discussion about what led up to his confession.  Maybe they have a no Trina talk rule or something.

This does not math for me. Valentine and Alexis being Mikos' children they would have shared 50% DNA (having different mothers), about 25% with Nik and the Coven.  If Valentine were Victor's son, taking for granted that Victor is Mikos' full sibling (which, who freaking knows these days) Val will share about the 25% with Alexis which would ping as "Mikos' you are NOT tha father!!!". I mean usually when they do DNA tests for paternity it's a flat "yes or no" question, I doubt "yes, no, uncle?" was available as an option, or sought as one, cause who would have expected Helena to bang her husband's brother.

I just think that it would've been funny if they used Nikolas and tested his Y chromosome, because it would've come back as a match!

  10. 2 minutes ago, perkie1968 said:

Then there should have been a familial match since it would make them cousins.  No??

My guess is that IRL, the test would've come back as inconclusive because they'd have more shared DNA than two unrelated individuals, but less than half-siblings.  Or it could've come back as negative if they used a strict shared DNA% cut-off.

Was it via Nik or Alexis' DNA?

My hunch about Valentin and Victor was correct!  They used Alexis' DNA.  It would've been interesting if they'd used Nikolas and tested the Y chromosome, because if Victor was the father there would've been a match.

WRT to what I bolded:  it's not true growth if you ONLY tell the truth based on a condition. In this instance, the condition is "Jack won't disown her'.  Someone upthread posted (sorry I didn't quote it) that showing growth means telling the truth period - and letting the chips fall where they may.

I'm of two minds with this.  If she actually learns to trust Jack and the bond that they've developed as father and daughter, I do think that does show growth.  However, making the decision to tell the truth regardless of the consequences because it's the right thing to do is obviously much better and shows a greater degree of growth as a person.

  13. I continue to find the teens to be the most interesting part of the show.  It's almost making me think that they have a different set of writers because the writing for their story has been at a consistently higher quality than many of the others.  I am continuing to enjoy Spencer and Trina; and am glad to see them get their first (albeit brief) 1:1 scene since Esme interrupted them on the turret.

I am a little curious to see how this whole mess with Nina, Sonny, Carly, and Jason (and how involved Britt will be).  Those secrets are just ticking time bombs for them.

I am seeing some chemistry between Sante, but the pacing for their story is off, which makes it difficult to invest in them.

I am definitely curious to see what happens with Valentin joining Liesel and Drew as Cassadine captives.  And I wonder if my theory that Mr. Sheffield is Valentin's father will be proven correct.  Also, will get some hints about Victor possibly faking Britt's Huntington's diagnosis?

The teens continue to be the best part of this trainwreck of a show. Plus, they have been presented as the smartest characters. They arent perfect, but they actually rub together their braincells when they talk and act.

I did like that Spencer just outright admitted to it all before it exploded. Big reason because he knows how Sonny will react and also the guilt. Sonny, I get him being angry about Avery being put in danger but once again he proves why I dont miss his character at all.

Also, am I the only one that thinks the show will.go: Spencer x Trina make up and become official down the line, while Esme moves on to Cam and they dip into a love triangle between Esme/Cam/Joss?

It really is the best written story on the show right now.  And I agree, it does seem like Esme is set to be the spoiler for Cam and Joss sooner rather than later.  I actually think that they're starting to find Joss's voice; and the type of character that she's becoming really needs a rival to work as a protagonist.

I wasn't watching when Xander first appeared in Salem, and I can't recall the show addressing it...but what accent is Xander supposed to have?  Or they claiming he's "from Greece" Greek? Or a person of Greek heritage who grew up in X country?

I believe that he's supposed to be English on his mother's side.

Carly's expression was "How dare you talk about anything I've ever done wrong." Nice acting by LW but it makes me hate Carly even more.

I was also impressed with EM's channeling of Mini Carly because I felt a similar visceral reaction to her in those scenes.

It's not Maxie's place to tell Carly anything--and she's not being a friend to Nina (nevermind "family" as they always call themselves) if she does.

Nina wasn't exactly doing right by Maxie by keeping the fact that Peter was alive and plotting to get one of Maxie's children to herself.

Given how badly GH handles actual medical stories, it's probably for the best. They'll have to give Britt something, though, as her hand shakes have been made so obvious. Maybe it will be some sort of stress-related palsy. That wouldn't be so dumb.

I agree.  They could just call it a case of Illness Anxiety Disorder (formerly known as Hypochondriasis).  I diagnosed myself with several illnesses due to Medical Student Syndrome back in the day.
