To add insult to injury, every piece of advice her council has given her (and that she's followed) has turned out to be wrong. I'd be ready to burn Westeros to the ground at that point too.

If I could, I would have Tyrion haunted by the ghost of Septa Unella.  Every time that he gave a  bit of half-assed advice, she would ring her bell and say  to him "Shame!, Shame! Shame!"

Does Euron really think Cersei’s baby is his?  If so, he’s too dumb to live.

Unless someone does a Maury Povich in King's Landing and exposes the truth for everyone, I don't think Euron cares either way.  He may profess his love for Cersei, but i'm sure he's in it for himself, first, last and always.  R.I.P. Missandei.  When she and Grey Worm were talking about their post-Dany plans, that was pretty much a bullseye for one of them.  I'd be perfectly happy for Grey Worm to be the one to take out Cersei (and I don't mean on a date either) if Jamie isn't able to do it.

And Sansa still has a stick up her butt regarding Dany who just lost a good portion of her army and one of her dragons defending Winterfell.  She doesn't have to be happy about where the help came from but one would think she'd be leeeetle bit more trusting if not 100% on board with Dany as queen.  Unless she rather have Cersei instead.

Assuming they all survive, of course.

That's the thing, just what could/would happen if Dany and Jon both don't make it through the impending battle alive.  If I was in that position to advise either one I would have just said to hash it out after the threat of the Night King and company had been dealt with. With the casulties that could happen,  I don't think either army can be expected to be in good enough shape to waltz their way to King's Landing and claim the iron throne for their respective monarchs immediately after the battle. Apart from that, so many moments that I liked. Missandei/Grey Worm making plans for a life together after the current crisis, the Mormont cousins, Bran/Jaimie, Sansa/Theon, Sansa/Dany and Brienne getting knighted by Jamie.  Too bad for Tormund, I actually wouldn't mind if he and Brienne actually got together when the series comes to an end.

So what was up with the Northerners especially giving Missandei and Greyworm the stink eye? Have they not seen any brown skinned people before or is that just their xenophobic tendencies coming to the forefront?

They're portrayed as plain racists. Which means they're flagged for death, and I'm not sorry at all at the perspective.

I took that the reason for the dirty looks they got was being part of the entourage/army of Daenerys "Bend the knee or else!" Targaryen.  As been mentioned up thread, there's going to be little respect and no love for a queen they didn't choose as opposed to a king they did.  Speaking of which, would Sam go as far as undermining her in someway down the line since he knows that his father and brother got barbecued by dragon?

The Theon/Yarra renuion went alot quicker and smoother than I expected.  She was alot more restrained than I would have been in the same circumstances.

LOVED the GOT spinoffs sketch. And even though I'm done with SVU, I loved Fin and Olivia's cameo.

Although I haven't watched SVU regularly in years (since Christopher Meloni left) I had to laugh out loud with the surprise cameo of Mariska and  Ice-T.  I wonder if either are fans of the show.  GoT: SVU is one spinoff I would definitely make time to see.

When Ed was captured on the Krill ship, they asked for his 'codes'. Presumably, these aren't written down or on any hard drive, so they'll need Ed to give them to Union HQ? Maybe they think they can't enter local Earth-space without them.

    Quote

Did think it odd that they didn't simply wipe out the whole crew - why drag them along?

This  maybe the one advantage the Borg would have that the Kaylons wouldn't.  With the former Ed (and his knowledge) would simply be assimilated and the Borg would be on their merry way to Earth and trash any fleet sent against them. Since whatever codes he has may not be written down or stored somewhere to be accessed, the Kaylons  can threaten to kill any remaining crew members or civilians (and their children) to compel Ed to comply.  And to continue with the (semi-) Borg analogy, I'm expecting to see in part 2 The Orville's answer to the Battle at Wolf 359.

  7. Wow, I'll repeat it, I did not see that one coming.  Even there was no "Resistance is futile" uttered by the Kaylons, the final scenes of the Orville being boarded and the armada did give me  "The Best of Both Worlds" vibes. And poor Claire just can't catch a break when it comes to relationships. And I'll second the opinion that Issac got reprogrammed when he was reactivated and that's going to play a major role in part 2.

The extent of Cicada's powers has done this all season. At the beginning of the season he was such a badass that Supergirl, Green Arrow, and every other hero in the Arrowverse was incapable of stopping him.  Then they suddenly decided non-dark matter powers like KFs were unaffected, so Supergirl should be able to beat him in five seconds.  Then Team Flash had him dead to rights twice two episodes ago but stupidly let him get away.  Now in this episode Iris was able to beat him.  While Iris could probably beat any other member of Team Flash in a fight without powers she's vastly outclassed by Oliver Queen and Sara Lance, so with the element of surprise they'd wipe the floor with Cicada, especially since they don't have powers to steal.

At this point Sheldon Cooper's Council of Ladies (from the Big Bang Theory) could take on Cicada, defeat him and wrap up this storyline without breaking too much of a sweat.

I just can't with Nora any more. I can't even give any credence to the "she is naive and being taken advantage of" excuse any more. She is just dumb as a box of rocks. Watching her dig her own grave with Thawne is hard to watch because it will break Iris and Barry's hearts when they find out and Thawne inevitably turns on her.

Unless she has some plan to double cross Thawne at the very end (which won't work) , this isn't going to end too well for the West-Allens.  I suppose it could tie into Dibney's remark about the end justifying the means, but complex and subtle doesn't seem to be in Nora's normal mode of operating.

Yeah like I’m supposed to believe the corruption in Gotham would break THE GODAMN BATMAN.😒😒😒😒 Is that Guggenheim’s petulance at being denied to do a Batman show?

Anyone besides me had a moment of deja vu when they heard that?  Wasn't that the premise behind Birds of Prey?  I know that tonight's ep was Arrow's, but are they ever going to get rid of Diaz permanently? This guy is like a cold sore or a bad rash you just can't get rid of no matter how hard you try.

The conflict between Lena and James felt realistic, which is a nice touch.

I'd have to go with Lena on this.  The situation James was putting himself wasn't just risky but downright foolish in case something went really bad and he didn't have any back up. He could have at least offered to wear some sort of  tracking device.

I admit, I laughed when Constantine said he needed a stiff one and would leave it up to them as to what he meant by that.

I thought it might have been a possible phallic double entendre.

They're not really killing off Syonide, are they?? Besides the fact that she's supposed to be indestructable (or mostly, right?), a good henchwoman is hard to find!

Imagine the ad for that position on Craigslist or elsewhere: "Wanted, henchwoman (or man) for equal opportunity employer to deal as needed with rivals, law enforcement and the occasional meta human. Profencency in hand-to-hand combat and firearms required. Must be available 24/7, 365 days a year. Vacation time as determined by employer. Housing, wardrobe and weapons provided by employer. Opportunities for advancement to kill for."

The show is the opposite of The Jeffersons -- nobody is "movin on up".

The only thing that this ep didn't have was Cedric's character go all early George Jefferson and refer to the Johnsons as "honkies".  And that was probably the only good thing I can say about the show.  The show was just as bad as the previews made it out to be.

  16. While the story line with Sheldon and Amy wasn't too bad, at least with Sheldon the show is trying to have him try to make some progress.  Too bad (or maybe not) they can't do the same with Raj. If you ever wondered why he was never shown with Yvette the Vet or Ms Davis the HR lady again  it can be assumed by what happened with his tv appearance.  Apart from his ability to talk to women without alcohol being involved (something I thought was dragged out faaarrrr too long), Raj is still the obnoxious jerk who whines about not having a girlfriend yet can't figure out that maybe his behavior might be the reason.  At this point I don't care if he does end up alone by the series finale.  He certainly does seem to do everything he can to make that outcome happens.

  18. Any chance of the judge being replaced somewhere down the line? Because I thought he was the worst thing about the two episodes so far.  I liked last season's judge alot better than the current one.  She might have had her humorous moments here and there but she was also grounded enough to keep things from veering off course in the courtroom as well.

I kept wondering where the nanny was because there was no way I could imagine the character leaving Maisie, especially as she was grieving her grandfather.  If she left, as she was told to do by whatshisname, then why didn't she call the police to at least report that Sir Ben was dead, and his granddaughter was potentially being held hostage by whatshisname?

Unless the next movie actually says something about her fate (slim chance I'm sure), I'm assuming she fell victim to the Indoraptor or some other carnivore that was on the loose.

There are also the dino (s?) that were released into the ocean. I don't think we have a good idea if it was one or more. But it looks like the one we saw is going to do some damage.

The Mosasaur that got away during the movie and turned up again after the end credits looked like he/she was about to chow down on some surfers at a beach.  And I was expecting it to see it happen onscreen. But it didn't happen but the implication was practically screaming that something really bad was about to go down.

I’m guessing next season is going to be their take on Red Son

That's what I thought when doppel-Kara walked towards the Russian soldiers at the end.   And there was a plausible reason given as to why Superman wasn't able to help Kara & company.  And the season premiere should at least have Kara mentioning speaking to Clark about survivors from their home planet.

What, the producers couldn't bring in Rene/Wild Dog for his take? Then again, Kara wasn't there, so he wouldn't have repeatedly called her "Blondie."

That was probably the ep's only saving grace.

  23. I wasn't a regular viewer during the original run but seen several eps.  The new ones I haven't bother  to see since I heard about Roseanne going off the rails (to put it kindly) since the show first went off the air.  Does anyone know how/why Valerie Jarrett got under her skin so much that she felt compelled to tweet what she did?  To be frank I was surprised that ABC would cancel the show outright with the ratings it got. But at least someone was able to put common decency and civility over ratings.

So Alex is hanging off a building by one hand but suddenly is able to launch herself up and over and land on the roof and take down her attacker?? Oh, come on.  That whole story line was just stupid.

I thought I was seeing things or maybe that was really J'onn in disguise.  Alex maybe very highly trained and at peak physical skill, but that little stunt had me wondering if she was supposed to have super powers or not.
