S04.E12: Control-Alt-Delete

After Taraji left I kind of left POI behind a bit. I wasn't that attentive a viewer anyway so it wasn't hard to drop it.

Then Shahi comes along and..well suffice it to say I will follow her anywhere. I had thought that if SS left I would drop out again. But I've been retracing the steps since Root's arrival and I am definitely sticking around with or without SS. Amy Acker is doing amazing things with this role. She's done it since day 1. Root is riveting, to me. I want to see how she deals with the loss of Shaw. Not just on a personal level but in the field.

I really do want SS back, though. We'll see.

I would PAY to see an episode from Bear's perspective. C'mon, CBS, webisodes!

I've got confidence that they'll move forward without Shaw and we won't be marking time plot wise awaiting her return.  Let's hope I am not wrong!

I feel the exact same way--I don't at all think the show will be in a holding pattern while Shahi's gone, not least because I don't think anyone really has any clue when(/if) she'll be back. I suspect that they have vague plans (my guess is that she maybe pretaped footage and will be seen in 1-2 more episodes this season, and then everyone's hope is that she will make a cameo in 5A before coming back on recurring in the back half of next season), but it could all change instantly over the course of the next year, and I just think these writers/producers are too smart to tether their show to something that uncertain. I mean, this episode signaled (imo) a shift in the Samaritan storyline--until now it's been "personal," for lack of a better turn, the conflict has only really been Team Machine vs (Team) Samaritan. But 4x12 brought the conflict to the national/international level, with Samaritan alienating Control and starting to reach out to POTUS/the Chief of Staff (not to mention trying to crash the world economy!). The conflict is now going to involve more players, it won't be our team in a vacuum, so that storyline has already been put on a different, expanding path. Plus, they're going to resolve the Brotherhood/Elias stuff by the end of this season, I would guess (which may just involve killing Dominic and having Link take over), so that, too, won't really be filler.

Ditto. My dream scenario is to have Root have to deal with Shaw's loss on all levels (personal, professional, etc), and just when she's come through that storm, Shaw's revealed to be alive and Root has to deal with THAT on all levels. Maximum angst, but maximum awesome Acker acting and range. :)
