SoMuchTV February 26 Share February 26 (edited) Quote "September 5" is a historical drama film directed by Tim Fehlbaum that focuses on the 1972 Munich Olympic hostage crisis from the perspective of the ABC Sports crew. The film highlights their transition from covering the Olympics to reporting on the hostage situation involving Israeli athletes, and showcases the intense and emotional experience of live broadcasting during a global tragedy. This is just now streaming on Paramount+. I was very impressed. According to IMDb, “All of the live video footage of the siege and the studio presentation and interviews is the original footage as broadcast by ABC during the crisis, taken directly from their archive.” I guess I would have been in high school when this happened, and while I’m sure I was aware of it, I don’t remember it being broadcast in real time. AngieBee1 February 26 Share February 26 Loved it. Very effective and the device of doing it in real(ish) time makes it a quick watch. I'm not a fan of Peter Sarsgaard so I was happy that they used his name/face to bring people to the tent, but it was is really focused on John Magaro and Ben Chaplin. It was great to see the grounds-floor take on it, as I knew of the incident through Steven Spielberg's "Munich", so it's great to get that perspective. I also loved getting a look at how territorial news space was. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152076-september-5/#findComment-8591283
