babyrambo December 15, 2024 Share December 15, 2024 (edited) I like that Alison was portrayed with some nuance but borderline personality diagnosis being the standard diagnoses for so called ‘crazy/hysterical’ women on TV, is a little cliche. Especially since it’s such a stigmatized and misunderstood disorder. I’d hoped that this show, which is often sympathetic to its patients, would do better. But I’m glad that storyline is over with, because it was wearing thin, and I never once understood why Carol was trying so hard to hold on to a cheating, lying, distant husband; but I guess that’s the (sad) reality. Also real was Wolf’s dilemma with his patient. I actually thought Nichols was going to further elaborate about Wolf’s own disorder but then they made it about Wolf not respecting Nichols, and while I can see that angle given their rivalry at the beginning of the season, I thought it was a little forced here. But I’m glad they smoothed things over because I really like them together. Unlike the intern love triangle, which I’ve already dismissed in previous posts. Hopefully when the show comes back they wrap up that storyline and invest a little more in the group dynamic.
