I watched this when it first came out. I liked it so much I have it on DVD. Wonderful acting on everyones part-the storyline was a little wonky but I thought the acting made up for it. I really liked the friendship between Vorenus and Titus Pullo (rest in peace, Ray Stevenson) and the costumes were very beautiful. I wish there would have been another season to see how things played out with Octavian but it seems HBO and the BBC ran out of $$$ since the show was very expensive to film. Anyway, great show and I would recommend it to anyone.

@MaisiesmomSame! It's one of only 3 DVD sets I own. I'm going to put a 45+ min. Youtube video behind a spoiler tag for you and others who've already watched the series. If you haven't seen it, it goes into the 5 planned seasons 😥 and what happened to make it only two. I found it  pretty interesting.

For those new to ROME

HBO showed the two seasons of ROME a few days ago 11/2 + 11/3/24, I believe. If they repeat it like they have a few other series that haven't  aired in years, I strongly suggest watching this  fabulous series! It does contain  graphic violence, strong language and sexual content.

Here's a little sample w/out spoilers. The two soldiers Vorenus (Kevin Mckidd) and Pullo (Ray Stevenson) are the the main characters  in the series set  in the times of Caeser, Mark Antony and Cleopatra.

Wow!!  Thank you, T Summer for the link. Very interesting! I always heard about how expensive it is to film in Italy but now I know why! Still wish they could have done all 5 seasons but I am grateful for what we got. Thanks again!

It was ok, I liked how it combined both the famous figures and some regular fictional characters that showed us more about the everyday life. But it was sometimes pretty over-the-top and it was funny how the same two characters always managed to get involved in the major stuff 😆. So much that, if I remember correctly,

Spoiler

the people who killed Caesar had to plan how to get rid of Vorenus, otherwise he would probably foil their plans.
