Citadel: Diana is a 6 episode Drama TV Series streaming on October 10, 2024 on Prime Video. Citadel: Diana, filmed in Italy and Switzerland, is a part of the "Citadel" universe, where related TV Series tell different aspects about the organization, Citadel, a "good" independent global spy agency founded to combat various threats and preserve the security of the world. Manticore, a powerful "criminal/evil spy" syndicate, created by eight of the most powerful families/Corporations from around the world, for the purpose of creating/manipulating world events in their favor, all from the shadows, is a major Citadel adversary. The TV Series, Citadel, also on Prime Video, provides information about what Citadel/Manticore is currently doing in the "present day".

Citadel: Diana looks at the Italian sector of Manticore, under the control of Ettore Zani, a "Military-Grade" Arms/Weapons manufacturer. In the near future, 2030, Manticore has managed to successfully "dismantle" the Citadel organization eight years previous, with only small pockets of Citadel resistance remaining. 

Diana Cavalieri, trying to uncover the reason why her parents were killed, becomes an undercover Citadel agent working as a mole in Manticore (Italy). Trapped deep in enemy territory, Diana sees a way out and the chance to disappear forever, but it requires her to trust Edo Zani, the son of the head of Manticore's Italian operation, who is vying against several other European families trying to become the next leader of Manticore (Italy), when his father decides it is time to relinquish his control.

The next iteration of the Citadel TV Series franchise will be Citadel: Honey Bunny streaming on November 7, 2024 on Prime Video. This will be set in 1990s India and focuses on the exploits of the Citadel agents, Rahi "Bunny" Gambhir and Honey Gambhir, "parents" of future Citadel agent, Nadia Sinh.

S01.E01: Split in Two

2030: in a gray and hyper-controlled Milan, Diana and Luca are sent on a mission to Lugano to spy on the exchange of a powerful weapon. Not far away, Edo Zani, Manticore Italy’s heir, has to respond to an unexpected proposal from the head of Manticore France, Cecile. In the flashbacks, Diana investigates her parents’ suspicious deaths when she meets Gabriele, a mysterious Citadel agent.

S01.E02: War

Diana and Edo form a secret agreement and make their first move, but they underestimate Cecile’s fierce reaction. While Manticore Italy is under attack, Ettore Zani has to step in to stop a war from breaking out. In the flashbacks, Diana completes her training with Gabriele and becomes a Citadel agent.

S01.E03: Together

Ettore sends Edo and Diana to Sicily on a sensitive mission that threatens their alliance. However, under the Mediterranean sun, the two discover they are connected by much more than their objectives. Eight years earlier, Diana infiltrates Manticore and carries out her first mission.

S01.E04: The Zanis

Diana is captured and struggles desperately to survive while Ettore has to make a hard decision in order to restore Manticore Italy's power, as memories resurface of the day when his relationship with Edo was shattered forever.

S01.E05: Attack

Edo leads a group of agents in an attack on the Manticore France's headquarters in Paris. Just as Diana is about to get her hands on the weapon, she is forced to decide which side she is on, as she had to do eight years earlier, the night Citadel was destroyed.

S01.E06: Jupiter

(Season Finale)
As Diana ponders her choice, Edo works on a powerful new weapon. Ettore tries to get closer to his son, playing one last, surprise card. In a flashback, the Zanis mourn Enrico while Diana realizes she's the last living Citadel agent.

The terrible wig is putting me off from watching this.  Probably not fair and I'm sure there is an in-show explanation, but it's distracting.

Plus, it's been so long since I watched the first season (which wasn't great).  I wonder how much of a money pit the overall series will turn out to be.
