CM-BlueButterfly July 16, 2024 Share July 16, 2024 Hi everyone, as HBO MAX isn't HBO MAX anymore, the MAX shows will eventually be removed and resettled in the MAX forum. Please start all new MAX documentary and nonfiction topics here. https://forums.primetimer.com/forum/8849-discoverymax/ Thank you. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/148709-a-new-home-for-max-documentaries/

The documentaries should be combined in one thread, then. HBO/Max/discovery. We want to discuss documentaries from this mixed umbrella source without having to wonder which thread it’s on. Anybody who still gets the HBO channel as I do gets Max steaming for free. That’s how I access Max. I think of it as an HBO product. Anyone who gets Max can watch the HBO documentaries. Anyone who gets HBO can watch Max documentaries. GHScorpiosRule April 2 Share April 2 So I stumbled across this documentary/docuseries(?) on Karen Read, a college professor who was charged with killing her Boston cop boyfriend back in...2022? Anyhoo, while I agree there are holes in the case, she's so goddamned unlikeable, self-absorbed, narcissistic, and clearly doesn't give a shit that someone is dead and that maybe she killed him? I am of the mind that even if you're accused of a crime and on trial, you don't need to be a likeable person, but she takes it to whole other level. The first trial was a mistrial back in July of 2024. Her retrial started yesterday-that is, jury selection. My point is, this was on HBO/MAX. So I don't understand why all the "shits" and "fucks" were bleeped out. I stated this in the Everything Else TV/Disappointed in Celebrities Thread, that I was disappointed to learn that Alan Jackson is one of her attorneys. He who prosecuted Phil Spector, and I think was one of the young ADAs who assisted in the OJ trial? But then when he lost his bid for DA, went to private practice (nothing wrong with that), and he defended the likes of Kevin Spacey...which I would expect someone to be more...selective. Anyhoo, my point is, why the swearing was bleeped. Unless it was originally aired on a network and they were too lazy to find the unedited version to put up? 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/148709-a-new-home-for-max-documentaries/#findComment-8623554

This is actually an Investigation Discovery doc series (and also streams on Max) and given that's a basic cable channel, that could be a reason for at least some of the language bleeped out. There is a topic about it under ID if you want to delve into the series' source more 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/148709-a-new-home-for-max-documentaries/#findComment-8623596

I'll check out it to see what others had to say about it. I did try a search under the series name, but got nada. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/148709-a-new-home-for-max-documentaries/#findComment-8623599
