Every review I've read lauds the performance of Douglas and says the series is slow as dirt and not that compelling.

I’m enjoying the series. Great production, Michael Douglas is very good. Love that it is in English and French.

plot is a little slow but I like the atmospherics enough that I don’t mind.

I'm just starting.  Loved the chamber pots with Franklin's picture at the bottom.

And they're right!  Eddie Marsan was pretty good too, although his makeup was dreadful.

And I can't help wonder about the grandson settling in at Versailles just before the revolution.  All those aristocrats are going to die.
