It is alright, it seems like they took every anime trope they could find and forced the well established characters into them. The women were already very strong, competent characters, trying to shoehorn another super competent (and unnecessary) female love interest into the story, just diminishes the female roles and screen time.

What do you think about it? I’m relatively okay with less snark and wonky continuity, but I have read a lot of hateful things from people who’ve watched it. They actually compare it to Velma, they consider it that bad.

Honestly, I find it about as entertaining as the original series.  I have a hard time getting through episodes in both series, for whatever reason.  Something's kept me watching, but I've never been totally all in on the show.  As someone who always keeps the closed captions on, I've noticed I actually enjoy the Japanese language version better than the overdub.  I think Elle is an interesting character addition, but IIRC they killed her off last episode.

I like the theme song.

As someone who watches subbed and dubbed anime series. I find that reading what is happening makes the anime subject matter seem more intelligent. When you hear amine in English, the premises seem sort of stupid, maybe it is because your brain has more time to contemplate what is being presented because you don't have to rush to read and watch what is happening on the screen.

Interesting theory, I've never heard that before.  I would say that reading the captions give you more time to contemplate what's going on though, since you can read the lines much faster than they can be said.
