But in two seasons, everyone will be copying you.” - Carmel Snow Cristóbal is so focused on fighting the counterfeits up to a level of implementing press embargoes on his new collections. The Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne doesn’t agree with him (his maison is being dismissed from the syndicate later) but that doesn’t stop him. His need for control is growing. He forgets about one thing though - the vendors. Then to his horror, he finds out that Balenciaga and Givenchy are using the same fabric in their latest collections. Now he wants to control the vendors too. This man will do anything for exclusivity. Cristóbal’s need to be in control and his reckless decisions have led to a falling out with his longtime business partners - Nicolás and Virgilia. If Wladzio is still around, it will not end this way. Both Cristóbal and Nicolás have so much respect for him. Cristóbal has a new confidante - Ramon, but he’s more like an assistant to him. It’s totally a different dynamic than what he had with Wladzio. After an unexpected encounter in New York, Cristóbal grows closer to Hubert de Givenchy.
