HistoryGirl September 6, 2014 Share September 6, 2014 (edited) Season 1 is released on September 9th. A few deleted scenes have leaked onto the web already, two of which set up how FitzSimmons met and how Fitz & Simmons have contrasting perspectives on the event. And the third is a hilarious exchange from "The Hub" between May and Simmons. May & Simmons from "The Hub" Extended Donnie & Fitz scene from "Seeds" (the audio to video is a little off) Bonus scene between Simmons & Skye from "Seeds" (audio is also off) The most shocking/interesting thing to me was that Simmons enjoys her symmetrical men and is "nubile". Puts her babbling reaction to Mike Peterson and Fitz's jealousy of Trip into perspective. And it establishes that her and Fitz were never sexual partners, but that she enjoys his company infinitely more than any of her symmetrical men. I equally loved Fitz's reveal to Donnie that it took him months to work up something clever to say to Simmons so that she could be friends with him (contrasted with Simmons thinking that he hated her in the Skye scene). I am curious as to what he meant in his description that Simmons was an "odd bird". I mean she is, but not as odd as say Temperance Brennan from "Bones". The May & Simmons clip is just downright hilarious. Edited September 6, 2014 by HistoryGirl Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/14242-agents-of-shield-on-dvd/
Cranberry September 6, 2014 Share September 6, 2014 I don't know if they have contrasting perspectives or if TPTB decided to scrap Simmons' version and go with Fitz's. That is a deleted scene, after all! I'm glad they left it out, really; we didn't need another scene of two women talking about men. That is a deleted scene, after all! I'm glad they left it out, really; we didn't need another scene of two women talking about men. But we didn't see Fitz's version either! They cut around it. In the original Donnie scene he just says that he didn't have any friends until Simmons. No indication of how they met or the fact that he'd wanted to be her friend for a few months before being assigned to work with her. Any info of pre-Bus life was given in FZZT, which wasn't much. Cranberry September 6, 2014 Share September 6, 2014 Maybe they didn't want either to be canon, for some reason. I wonder if we'll see more backstory stuff in the upcoming season(s). Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/14242-agents-of-shield-on-dvd/#findComment-353784
SnoGirl September 8, 2014 Share September 8, 2014 Can I just say that my inner geek is loving the release date of Agents of Shield season one because it's on the same date as the Winter Soldier. I hope someone in Marvel who has a say in the release dates went "I wonder if any of the nerds will notice that Cap's biggest fan's show is also being released on the day." Makes my heart pitter patter for Coulson. I would love if Clark Gregg posted something on Social Media about it! Sarahastro September 10, 2014 Share September 10, 2014 I am so disappointed that the May and Simmons scene from "The Hub" was cut. It is hilarious, and sadly it's one of the only times those two characters interact. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/14242-agents-of-shield-on-dvd/#findComment-364877
HistoryGirl September 11, 2014 Author Share September 11, 2014 (edited) I may be wrong on this as I have not scoured all of the Blu-Ray, but I think the Declassified episodes are not there. Which, as a person who was geoblocked from seeing them in the first place, this makes me sad. The deleted scenes are actually extended! They're different than what was shown at SDCC, so that was a lovely surprise. I enjoyed seeing the FX filming versus finished product for Simmons' jump too. Can't wait to listen to more of the commentaries, although I think it was an egregious oversight that none was done for the finale.
