I realize that "Bob" is a young captain, but sitting in the captain's chair, sobbing and swearing and asking "What do I do?  What do I do?" wouldn't strike confidence in me if I were a deckhand.

I wouldn't go out in water over my head with her.  What if she had a problem out in the middle of the Bering Sea?  Big brother couldn't come running over to pat her on the head and cuddle her while she sobs.

She broke the boat.   I would be sobbing too.   After the crisis was over.

Its just like Sig blowing up.   It doesn't really help the situation in the moment.   Speaking of which -- if they JUST had the engines overhauled, what the hell happened?   Is Edgar no longer around to baby them?   I know he can't be shown for reasons, but surely he is there?
