Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (2023)

My book club read the source novel a year or two ago.  It's probably not as clear from the trailer as it could be, but it's a heartfelt queer romance about two Latino boys in Texas in the 80s.

And it looks like they nailed it.

I'll admit I have the book (and its sequel) sitting in my every growing TBR list. I feel like I'm going to be experiencing the story first with the movie, which looks good.

Update:  They did.

It's funny, Dante is kind of the showier role, and the actor playing him is great, but the kid playing Ari was phenomenally good.

I still have my fingers crossed that this gets to theatres in Australia, but considering I also live in the sticks, I'm probably going to have to wait for the digital release to watch it. Which means even a longer wait.
