AnimeMania June 6, 2023 Share June 6, 2023 This dark comedic thriller was inspired by combining several bizarre true events. Kaley Cuoco was pregnant while filming so the story was slightly altered to include the pregnancy. This is a story about a married couple whose youthful dreams haven’t come to fruition and who see the true crime podcast tidal wave as an opportunity to change their lives and save their marriage. This is set in Los Angeles, the city where everybody wants to be famous, the backdrop to a story about fame, ambition, aspiration, and murder. Nathan is a tennis instructor who has just lost his job and has a baby on the way. Nathan's wife Ava is a pregnant realtor with a true crime podcast obsession. Ava's real estate listings have taken a turn for the worse and on top of that their toilet is broken. They call a plumber, Matt, could he possibly be the West Side Ripper, a serial killer who is murdering attractive young women in West Los Angeles at an alarming rate. When Ava possibly witnesses the murder of a neighbor who is the victim of the West Side Ripper, Ava sets out to find the killer (and make a few bucks along the way) by starting her own true crime podcast, with the aim of getting an exclusive interview with the killer. Ava believes that the West Side Ripper is one of her close friends. The podcast, by focusing attention on the West Side Ripper causes the West Side Ripper to focus attention on the podcasters. Kaley Cuoco as Ava Bartlett, a pregnant real estate agent who is no longer getting the best listings and a true crime podcast junkie. She lets murder podcasts lull her to sleep at night. Chris Messina as Nathan Bartlett, Ava's husband, an ex-pro tennis player who's knee injury turned him into a tennis instructor at a ritzy Beverly Hills club, who has just gotten fired. Tom Bateman as Matt Pierce, a plumber who comes to fix the Bartlett's broken toilet, might he be the West Side Ripper? Natalia Dyer as Chloe Lake Liana Liberato as Tory Thompson, Ava's younger sister Aisha Alfa as Carolyn Annabelle Dexter-Jones as Serena Priscilla Quintana as Ruby Gale, Ava's trophy wife friend Timm Sharp as Richard Sebastian Quinn as Carlos Li Jun Li as Michelle Aaron Staton as Simon Brandon Keener as Paul June Diane Raphael as Romy, co-host with Rochelle of a rival podcast Jessica St. Clair as Rochelle, co-host with Romy of a rival podcast Yvonne Senat Jones as Jessie Miles Mussenden as Quincy Link to comment
