Up until last episode I was going to say that I was sad this was cancelled, but then they pulled a straight, classic, unironic "bury your gays" and now I'm kinda over it. That might seem like an overreaction, but I just can't with that trope anymore. It was far too long the only outcome for gay characters in dramas and I don't want to see it anymore. Maybe we can bring it back in 10 years occasionally, if in the meantime all shows and movies handle gay relationships as well as The Last of Us did so recently.

Of course the finale was kind of a mess otherwise, too. If it wasn't, maybe I could forgive such a thing, but as it stands, instead of lamenting the bad circumstances that got an otherwise good show cancelled, I can only say "good riddance!".
