Whimsy February 16, 2023 Share February 16, 2023 Maddy Pomilla Age: 28 Hometown: Huntingtown, Md. Current Residence: Brooklyn, N.Y. Occupation: Charity Projects Manager Three Words to Describe You: Brave, friendly, feral Why do you want to be part of Survivor? I get a kick out of doing things that scare me, or that feel impossible, or that I dreamed of doing as a kid. Survivor checks all of those boxes. What's one life experience you feel has prepared you for the game? I am one of five sisters, and I'm the classic middle child – social, independent, problem–solving. To survive the Pomilla sisters, you gotta be dynamic, and keep up! Which previous player do you identify with the most? Who do you think you will play most like? Strategically, probably Cirie or Omar. Swag-wise, probably Malcolm. What will you value in an alliance partner? Someone practical, open-minded, not self-serious, and must be fun! Favorite Hobbies: Surfing, skateboarding, making movies with my sisters, dancing all night, pretending I'm Madonna at karaoke, laying in the grass. Pet Peeves: Elitists, man-splaining, impatience, having sand on my feet when I put socks on. What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? I've done some cool things, like trekking to Everest base camp, but the real best thing I've done is make the hottest guy from NYU date me for the last seven years. What is something we would never know from looking at you? I placed third in an ultramarathon when I was 22. I'm not as buff as everyone else on the cast, so y'all need to know I can at least run far. Who in your life is your biggest inspiration and why? I have four crazy sisters who are just like me, but better. And my dad, Paul. They lead life with compassion, curiosity, honesty, and are really good, down-to-earth people. Why will you be the Sole Survivor? I love living in the grey area where anything could happen at any moment, so I'll coast on chaos and have fun doing it. Link to comment
LadyChatts March 2, 2023 Share March 2, 2023 (edited) Exit interview with Maddy. This sheds a lot more light on why TC went down the way it did, and there was definitely a lot we didn't see at the Ratu camp. https://ew.com/tv/survivor-44-maddy-pomilla-interview/ -said her original target was getting Matthew out, since he was such a wild card and wanted to work with the guys. But switched to Brandon when she realized Brandon wouldn't work with her (she felt like their personalities clashed too much). I wish she had stuck with Matthew. I don't like the guy and he probably would have left. In hindsight, she wished she had split the vote between Matthew and Brandon, as Matthew likely would have gone home in that case -had a secret alliance with Kane (can't remember if that was shown or not last night) -said that during TC, Matthew got up and whispered something in Brandon's ear, so I'm guessing he told Brandon he was going and to play his idol. Matthew playing his SITD is looking more like strategy at this point, even though I still think it was a stupid move. But I guess if the vote was split and it wound up saving him, then maybe not. -said that the original target was for Jamie; she mentioned that she was the kind of person that people rolled their eyes at (so this probably explains why Jamie played her SITD and was nervous about the vote). Also said that Lauren was never a target. She didn't believe Brandon would play his idol at the first TC, especially since he went in thinking Jamie was the target. So Jamie playing the SITD for herself and being safe likely triggered Brandon to play his idol -Considered herself The Godfather out there, but wanted Brandon to be seen in that role so people would think he was powerful and needed to go. She got Lauren onboard to vote Brandon, even though those two had been working together and were close. I feel like she maybe overplayed her hand in trying to get Brandon out by trying to get people to flip and making Brandon this mastermind that was messing with them (I can't tell if she was really smart in this approach or giving herself way too much credit for being a mastermind) -Lauren did tell people people about her advantage after all, and Maddy said she grew paranoid out there -would have turned on her tribe if given the chance, so admits they were probably good to get her out Edited March 2, 2023 by LadyChatts 2 Link to comment
