AnimeMania May 14 Share May 14 Cross is a TV Series that will stream on Prime Video. The TV Series is based on Alex Cross, a character in over 30 novels by James Patterson. There have been 3 movies made, 1997’s Kiss the Girls and 2001’s Along Came a Spider, with Morgan Freeman playing the title character in both movies, and 2012’s Alex Cross, starring Tyler Perry. Alex Cross, is a Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department detective and a forensic psychologist who’s uniquely capable of digging into the minds of killers and victims in order to identify and catch them, sometimes to the point of obsession. Cross is a doting father and family man, but his wife’s murder has left him too damaged to fall in love again. Juanita Jennings has been cast as Regina "Nana Mama" Cross. Nana Mama is Alex’s grandmother and lady of the Cross household. Warm, proud, and perceptive, Nana Mama strives to lift up and protect her loved ones. Watching Cross spiral in the wake of his wife’s death, however, makes her worry that he needs more support than she can give him. Caleb Elijah has been cast as “Damon Cross.” Alex’s oldest child, Damon is curious and sensitive, a talented piano player taught by his late mother. Unsure how to grieve her death, he looks to his father for guidance—guidance his father struggles to provide. Melody Hurd as Janelle "Jannie" Cross. Alex's youngest child, spunky and athletic. Like Damon, she’s still recovering from her mother’s death. But she hides her sadness in her role as the family comforter, always trying to make others smile. Aldis Hodge as Alex Cross, “brilliant, flawed, and full of contradictions. A doting father and family man, Cross is single-minded to the point of obsession when he hunts killers. He is desperate for love, but his wife’s murder has left him too damaged to receive it.” Jennifer Wigmore has been cast as “Chief Anderson.” DC Metro’s Chief of Police, Anderson is a savvy trailblazer and a political striver. She’s determined to keep a lid on the intensifying conflicts between her officers and the community they serve. She respects Cross’s brilliance, but although she’s flexible with the rules, there’s a limit to how many she will let Cross break. Sharon Taylor (replaces Karen LeBlanc who had scheduling conflicts) as Lt. Oracene Massey, Alex’s immediate superior at the Metro PD. Massey a tireless self-promoter who understands that advancement doesn’t always have anything to do with catching the bad guys, but with pleasing those higher up. In the series, she is pregnant. Isaiah Mustafa as John Sampson, also known as “Two-John” and as “Man-Mountain.” He is Alex’s partner on the force and best friend of 30 years. Full of swagger and larger than life, he believes that Cross is at a crisis point and needs to seek professional help. Stacie Greenwell as Detective Shawna De Lackner who is described as straightforward and perceptive and doesn’t suffer fools gladly. A seasoned detective at the Metro PD, she pays close attention to detail when it comes to both her cases and her appearance. Alona Tal as Kayla Craig, a brilliant, determined, and abrasive FBI agent with a sharp sense of humor who aims to recruit Cross into the bureau… and possibly her bed. Beneath Kayla’s flirtation is deep esteem for Cross, along with a desire to be seen as his investigative equal. Ryan Eggold as Ed Ramsey, whose humble Midwest roots are the core of his irresistible charm, but he’s got elbows sharp enough to carve out space in the elite social and political circles of D.C. and New York. Ramsey is described as smooth, well-connected and devious; he also can be physically imposing when he needs to be and has some very dark secrets. While initially a fan of Cross, Ramsey soon becomes a formidable adversary. Johnny Ray Gill as Bobby Trey, who is described as deadly, compact, and cunning. A Louisiana native whose diesel engine is always running, Johnny is an ex-police officer who now works for Ed Ramsey. He is motivated by the dollar and takes great pride in finishing everything he starts. Eloise Mumford as Shannon Witmer, who is described as Smart, witty, and resourceful, as well as a frustrated dreamer with artistic aspirations. When she meets the worldly Ed Ramsey, Shannon is intrigued by his charm and connections. But her interest leads to terror when she discovers Ramsey’s true intentions. Siobhan Murphy as Tania Hightower, a driven, unstoppable journalist who works as a news reporter for the Washington Post. Hightower’s beat includes all of Washington D.C., but her passion, loyalty and interest lies less in the political class and more in the often overlooked population of our nation’s capital. Samantha Walkes has been cast as “Elle Monteiro.” A former athlete and executive director of a high-profile nonprofit, Elle loves a challenge—like her childhood crush, Alex Cross. Elle is thrilled about their budding relationship. But she also knows Cross is grappling with the trauma of his wife’s recent murder, and his erratic behavior warns her he may not be ready.
