Gotham Knights vs. Other Gotham Tales

Compare and contrast the show with the comics, movies, and other TV shows featuring Batman characters.

It's just weird to me that they greenlit this at all when they (apparently) couldn't use any of the more well-known Robins/Bruce's children, and had to (preferred to?) make up a new original character to center this on.

An original character isn't necessarily a bad thing; but it's a show set in Gotham, with only some obscure characters in the main cast. Just not sure what audience they hope to get with that.

At least Batwoman had superhero action as a draw; Gotham Knights seems like it will be more teen drama. And teen drama has an audience, but I don't know if this particular premise is a good fit for that.

Also some of the premise looks like it covering the same ground as just-cancelled Batwoman, so it's odd that DC is repeating themselves so soon.
