Netflix is creating a real-life 10 episode Squid Game competition TV series called Squid Game: The Challenge, with 456 players that compete for $4.56 million in prize money.

The new show is looking for contestants from all around the world, but they must be able to speak English. The show will be filmed in the UK.

Squid Game (USA) - Officially In Active Development

A US version of the Korean hit series, the spinoff follows people who fail at life for various reasons, but suddenly receive a mysterious invitation to participate in a survival game to win more than 38 million US dollars. The game takes place at an isolated island and the participants are locked up until there is a final winner.

We started watching a show, The 8 Show, that reminds me of a cross of Squid Game and Lord of the Flies.

I don't know if there will be the shock value that there was the first time around, but I am certainly interested in where they decide to take the story.  There were a lot of good story threads that were dropped in the first season, although I think that was mostly because of the speed of the story-telling rather than an attempt at a cliff-hanger.
