Gunn also explained to fans of the holiday special that when it came to choosing which costumed figures would populate his take on Hollywood Blvd.’s tourist photo op scene, “I chose from the ones available to us, either public domain or Disney, or in the case of GoBots, Hasbro being very nice to let us use CyKill.” When one follower asked if Gunn had considered using Marvel’s own Rom, a space knight that was first a toy before landing on the comic book pages, the filmmaker said, “No. GoBots was used because I thought it was funnier!” * * * Gunn explained on Twitter that Swole Groot, being a progeny and not a clone of his sire who starred in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1, is simply “getting bigger, outward as well as upward. Lantern7 December 25, 2023 Share December 25, 2023 I saw this tonight. It was wonderful. It should be a TV staple for the holidays. Nothing says "Christmas" like two aliens stalking and kidnapping Kevin Bacon. And Rocket got Bucky's arm! I knew about it leading into v3, but it was still funny to see. On 11/25/2022 at 6:28 PM, Spartan Girl said: Rocket and Nebula might be the second best duo ever. Can you use "friendship" as a verb, like "ship"? They were the only surviving Guardians after Infinity War. Five years should be enough time to make a friendship, albeit an unusual one.
