The Gloaming is the story of an unorthodox and troubled policewoman, Molly McGee, who leads an investigation into the murder of an unidentified woman. McGee has to team up with Alex O'Connell, a man she has not spoken to for 20 years. They discover that the murder has links to a cold case from the past.

I loved the first season of this series- dark, creepy. Aussie noir.

I loved it too, although I think the final episode was too short and left some holes in the story.  I'm actually going to watch that one again to make sure it wasn't just me.

And nothing bad happened to Alex's cat!  YAY!

But the atmosphere was fantastically creepy and the performances really good.  I basically tuned in because, well, it was Australian, and because the actor playing Alex, Ewen Leslie, was the best thing about The Luminaries.  And I'm so glad that I did.
