The Changing of the Mod: Forum Rules

We wanted to update the forum rules for Real Housewives of NY into a single post: 

• The most important rule here is Be Civil or Be Gone. This applies to your fellow members. It does NOT apply to those on TV. Folks are free to love or hate anyone on TV, and state their opinions here, as long as they don't violate site rules against racism, homophobia, etc. Treat other posters with respect, whether you agree with their opinions or not. 
• Use the Report Button appropriately - if you see a post that you believe violates forum guidelines, don't respond to it, use the report button (flag icon) instead, which brings the posts to the attention of the entire mod team.
• Do not 'backseat mod' - don't tell people what to post, where to post, or mention mod actions in the thread. Instead, use the report button or PM the mods. All mod actions are confidential, and they don't all come from reports - don't assume you know what action has been taken, or that someone reported you just because your post was hidden. 
• State your opinion once, and move on - no one is ever going to "win" an argument on the forums, so don't get stuck in a back and forth.
• The Ignore feature is your friend - if someone's posts are lessening your enjoyment of the forums, but not breaking any rules, simply add them to your Ignore list by clicking your own name at the top and then Ignored Users. 
• Review our Politics Policy. Political discussion is only allowed if it relates DIRECTLY to show content. 
• Only discuss the episodes in the episode threads.  Take Media to the Media thread, housewives' social media to their individual threads, and Watch What Happens Live to the WWHL thread.  
• No live chat in the episode threads.  Take it to the LIVE CHAT thread.

Do not use highly gendered insults when referring to the women on the show.  The term cackling hags was used and can be quoted when discussing that incident.  Otherwise terms such as hag, heifer, harpie, etc., should not be used.
