Oh good. Something to look forward to in October. :-)

Did they ever reschedule your reunion----so you can be one of the many murder victims in Oxford?

We're going to have our ten year reunion in DC in two weeks but hopefully we will have our real Oxford one next summer.  I really hope it happens - there's a class just on Middlemarch!  I can't even imagine the joy of an entire week of talking about Middlemarch.

Ten years ago we all met when we did the Oxford Experience which is where you can take classes at Christ Church.  Its a six week program and the classes are a week each.  But no murders when I was there last time.

That's nice. The weather hasn't been too bad this summer (the nasty evening storms this week notwithstanding).

Three of us live in the DC Area (I had to go all the way to England to meet them even though we all live here) and another of the gang will be in town.   But which of us will survive!

I really should write a book about this - there were some people at Oxford that summer who were so freakin annoying.  I could kill them off in print.  The pub we hung out at every night was near a river...one of them could "accidently" fall in.

you could set your fictional Oxford reunion in DC. The Potomac kills at least 1 person a year if you really need a river "drowning" in your story. National Harbor is a good site for murders too. Body found lying in repose in the left hand of "The Awakening" or body falling off that big ferris wheel they just installed.

Falling off the top of the US Capitol Building.  Poison is a good one also (all those Agatha Christie books I've read have to count for something). Hmm, how else do people kill in Oxford -  hanging, throwing people off of high buildings, stabbings.  Nothing gruesome though - I'm more of a cozy mystery girl.

Or both...the first part in Oxford and the second half in DC.  This way when they adopt the book for Lewis, I can have Robbie and Hathaway in DC. If Morse and Lewis can go to Australia and Italy, why not have Lewis and Hathaway come to DC.

They can come for an international police convention. :-)  Or maybe they come here because a murder in Oxford has some weird connection with the "Female Stranger" of Alexandria and they stumble upon your murder in the meantime.

I just got back from my London vacation and did a day trip to Oxford.  And was not murdered!

I bought an Oxford guidebook and Morse and the gang were mentioned as many times as Tolkein.  He is a selling point.

Hi, just wondering is it possible to find out whether there might be filming for the new series going on in Oxford or thereabouts around the 21st - 24th of May? I will be visiting Oxford with my wife then (she used to live there for a few years in the 90s), and we would love to try to stumble open a bit of shooting (pun intended). I had read somewhere that filming would start in May. Thanks in advance if anyone has any information or suggestions.

Yes the first episode was on last night - I saw it through the proverbial "other means".  I was surprised when ITV announced their dates as it's usually on in the new year after filming.  It's three two-part 45 minute episodes.

We finally have an answer why Laurence always calls Kevin "Donald" in his tweets.

Kevin is in the most current podcast on the MT podcast and he explained it.  Apparently Laurence was on vacation in Mexico and someone came up to him and when they mentioned Kevin. they called him Donald.  Laurence found it very funny and that's why he still calls him Donald today.

We have a date for the new (and final) season being shown in the States! It starts August 7th with episodes airing August 7, 14, and 21st.

Does anyone know if it is possible to purchase the UK version of the series?  I bought it from Amazon, where it said "Official U.K. version," but it is the shortened Masterpiece version.  I'm hoping I can return them, because I can watch them on Amazon Prime in their USA PBS lengths.  I have seen the USA lengths, and wanted to watch the series from the start in the UK version.
