  1. People who take pills every day indicacsenior citizens or addicted or hypochondriac.

Nobody has autoimmune illness... Weird considering that jra you know, exists. Nobody has seasonal allergies or a controlled thyroid condition. Multiple pills are always code for old, sick, or crazy.

Well you know that allergies are indicators that the character is a weakling nerd with lousy social skills, not the body's immune system overreacting to a foreign substance.

  2. Maybe they'll have to get Lucifer and Michael out of the pit to fight the darkness.

No, Sam wasn't innocent in Lester's death, but I thought it was a bit much for the guy who a actually killed him to put all the blame on someone else.

  3. The whole Sam/Dean discussion was ridiculous. San didn't bully Charlie, she jumped at the chance to help Dean, and he did not drive Lester to anything, he was ready willing and eager to make that deal.

  4. The nurse was possessed by a demon. Sam needed demon blood, not human blood, to drink in order to make himself strong enough to kill Lilith. But, the human was still in there and probably could've been saved if Sam had chosen to exorcise her rather than drain her.

They could exorcise a lot of possessed people but gank them anyway, and that hasn't been considered an issue since S3.

  5. I don't think that Dean can be completely held responsible for his actions now (as in, he shouldn't be blamed for everything after he's back to his old self), but he did make the conscious choice to take on the MoC with all the warnings about consequences in mind. Dean wasn't manipulated or mislead quite in the same manner that Sam was.

Dean wouldn't have needed to kill Abadon if he hadn't stupidly put her back together again, then left her alone.

As for the 'nurse' Sam killed, she was a demon, and everybody from Bobby to Becky ganks demons all the time with no moral qualms. I've never understood why this one is supposed to be different.

Dean took on the Mark Of Cain, which any fool could have told him would turn him demonic, of his own free will.

Dean murdering Cyrus was worse than anything Sam has ever done.

  6. How about that fabulous RomCom staple: Once you've found twu! wuv! it's totally acceptable to lie, cheat and betray your siginificant other because they're obviously boring, bad for you, not your soulmate, take your pick. (Looking at you, Sleepless in Seattle. I know you're trying to tell me that Meg Ryan's creepy stalking is really totally charming...yeah,no.)

Speaking of Sleepless In Seattle, I'm sick and tired of the trope that the member of a love triangle who wears glasses and *gasp* has seasonal allergies is repulsive and loathsome and deserves to be dumped for someone whose body doesn't produce too much histamine for a few weeks of the year.

This also goes for asthma being treated as a character flaw and/or signifier that the asthmatic is weak, socially unskilled and nerdy. It's a lung disease that doesn't cause social problems, and believe it or not, affects strong, athletic and socially skilled people too.

Here's another trope I really hate: a female character dumping her boyfriend/husband only to act greviously offended when she later sees him dating someone else. Like she expects him to spend the rest of his life pining for her.

  7. Mrs. Kim was IMO a better mother than Lorelai, just as passionate, just as focused on "do it my way" but all in all the boundaries she set were good for Lane, even if they only served to increase Lane's resourcefulness in getting around them.

Compare that to Lorelai's "Rory on a pedestal" mode. Very bad for Rory.

True. I can't picture Lane stealing a yacht because someone gave her a critical review.

    My UO:

I like S7. I like that Lorelai finally did some self-reflection and realized that she was living her life and defining herself solely in opposition to Emily.

  8. Yeah, I always did wonder how male vampires got erections, what with the no blood flowing through their veins kind of thing.

    Rigor mortis?

Anyway, my UO for the Gilmore Girls are:

I like Christopher a lot more than Luke - at least Chris is pleasant.

I like Rory's transformation from drab, mousy bookworm into a stylish, sociable girl.

Logan was the best boyfriend Rory had.

Jess was a sullen little punk with no redeeming features that I could see.

    I don't hate April.
