  1. what happened to the second part of the episode on the young woman who said she adopted her kid out, but it looks like her child is more likely dead? it says episode 149 but 150 was the angry woman who does not believe in being transgender? Uh OH! I am too involved. I might need Dr.P's "help".

  2. I think this last catfish story might be my last. Phil gets so mean and even belligerent with these desperate people. He just hammered this last poor dummy. I get to blast her, you get to, but he should not be so self righteous. I agree with someone who posted about the catfished lady whose daughter kept laughing at her mom. He should have put a stop to that. The one slight redeeming thing he did say for the 1st time i have heard him, was that Phil will give her the info to help her possibly prosecute to get some of her money back. She won't probably tho. Maybe Phil's audience will give her some money. I think more of his viewers than I do of him and Robin. But why does he have to keep putting these poor souls down as they learn just how screwed they are??? It is hard to hear how often the family members  need to say "I told her so". (we all assume that honey, now is not the time to rub it in).

  4. Did I hear Moriah say she wanted to get into the "production" of music? is that different from singing and producing music?

I LOVED ethan last night too! I hate if i am sounding like i could possibly be defending Barry, but that stupid icky smirky/smile might be a nervous reaction. Cuz he was NOT happy. he is such a wimp I thot his eyes gave off a "I'm scared" look. The neck that turns the head was brilliantly timed and perfectly exacuted.

I have mixed feelings about the younger 2 "escapees" going back to "the parents" supposedly to say i love you from Ethan and olivia and not include more support of them. They were just too nice. I DO get wanting/needing parental approval. At 50 i still wanted it .

I hated how easily and skillfully  Kim turned Ethan's visit around to make him look like the bad guy to the younger kids.

Honestly, if he is a devout Muslim he should stick to his own kind, there is nothing wrong with wanting to make a life with someone who shares the same upbringing and culture.  Lot's of different religions encourage their congragants to find someone within their own kind within the religion.

Well put, The old  "opposites attract" philosophy is not always the best. It only works for some.

  6. RealMe, can i call you realme? adding to your point, allowing for things like sugar, or freedom of decorating your bedroom, etc can be given baced on age, development. A benefit i think Mom has not allowed for herself is getting to watch HOW her kids handle the new choices.(then she could use her bossiness better, ha.. You can hear her saying in her low slow cracking creepy voice "YoU hAD TOo MUcH!!").

    Editted to add:

And as for the on-the-edge fat-shaming end of my post, i thot long and hard talking about  posting about her weight. I, like you stay away from talking about someone's body weight.

I am looking at it for purely the hypocriticalness of her own actions, and you got that.

  7. First off, i will admit to really looking forward to watching the show and snarking with you guys. I would never admit this to anyone else, but since the internet can keep a secret, I feel safe.

There is something so very odd to me that THAT mother and her pet-husband would allow their completely sheltered family to be on Da Teevee. In a series no less, and a second season even. Listening to her nothing good came of doing season one(except the big bucks for a fancy house with nothing to play with) The fact that crazy-mom allowed her "rebellious" daughter to live on her own at 17 is shocking. and rebellious? please, more like curious. Has mom never heard of a compromise. Keep that child home and let her wear her silly outfits. Maybe even let her see a (whispered voice) magazine on style or something . But her all or nothing attitude is shameful. I get scared thinking how naive what's-her-name is. But it is ok she live on her own(with her equally naive brother. If ANYTHING happened to her, her brother would not know how to handle it. How could he?

Back to the cray-cray mom, I too believe she has a secret stack of sugary treats just for her. She probably made up the part of the bible that told her not to let children have sweets. She'd have to share. Does she seem the kind of person that likes to chare anything but her woes?. If it is not a secret compartment of wonder-treats  then she is a lard-o. Maybe even a butter wrapper-licker! Broiled chicken did not give her that figure.     ( this is the place to snark, right? ooohhh, i feel so mean, but it makes the rest of my world safer from our shared  shut-in psychosis, it is a good thing).

3, i counted 3 times Wacky-mom said she would not let "that" happen to her younger kids. "That" being the world and how to navigate it. She's keeping them under her wings. Who is she trying to convince? SHE put them on a TV show!!! You know  a burner phone from an older big brother is next.

I just keep thinking we are being punked that someone so psyco about keeping the world away from her children would be happily signing up for reality tv.

Instead of trying so hard to shelter and deprive these kids, let them blossom! Let them breath. She can't even trust in herself that so far they are turning out great! She can't give herself credit even, she is so wound-up on rules, and imposed  isolationism.

okay, i feel better, but Lord-Mom might be the type to let my secret crush on this show out. She seems that type.

On a lighter note, I hope we get to see more of the middle brother, who is now the oldest boy at home(is he the only boy left?) he was darling in the second episode.

Oh 1 more thing, I laughed SO hard at the giant insect (is her name Miria??) wore on her eye lids.  It could have been me, but i think her eye lashes/slash/ insect, grew as the notes she was singing got higher.

    and higher.

  8. I think these are horrible parents. They seem blinded to the results of their harden beliefs. I too was saddened hearing Ethan say what he missed, and Micah saying none were allowed  friends. It has stilted their learning/maturing. There is something creepy about Dad's smile. And he is your basic fugly guy. how in the WORLD did a mildly attractive woman mate with a man so basic and produce remarkably gorgeous children(that  all look alike to me). Is something off there? Ethan(the oldest boy right?) is lucky he found a partner that will help raise him moderately. She might be on the bitchy side, but that is all he knows. He could have gotten super rebellious and found a wife that would really take him own a dark path. the parents should be grateful their older kids are making good choices as they are, considering how sheltered they were. If Mom and Dad were more enlightened, less insecure, they would step back and give themselves credit that they instilled  rightous values, trust in themselves they did it right. I don't think they did it right, but they seem to be telling us they know it all.(esp. mom, and dad seems a bit scared of Mom. i bet she can be very very scary)

Taking all (safe)choices away from young  children can result in terrible rebellion later. I am intrigued by this semi-awful semi-scripted (semi) show. and i too wish we could get more in depth with how Mom handled the tragic death of the run-over child. But i bet this is all we get because what we saw was all she did. She does not strike me a one full of depth. Come to think of it she also has a creepster smile.

One more thing, didn't we learn last season that Mom went to college and partied hard, wasted the money and that is why going to college is worthless? I wanna know more about her parents. I want dad to just stay in the shed.

What were those pieces of "artwork" on the wall to Ed's right?  One looked like a cartoon girl in a tutu, done in the style of sad clown art.  Does he live with his mother?

I am SO glad you brought this up/ not good advertising for Ed if he is indeed a decorator

  11. I am not the Maci-hater that many are(i know we don't really hate, but those 2 words go together so well), like a well oiled machine) that many here are, but i signed up when she made me take Ryan's side on the wrestler weigh issue.(not so much as the over scheduled thing, different sports/different seasons).

Also, I bet Bennie has friends, but they have good parents that don't let them on TV.(it was mentioned that his wrestle buddies were going to be at that  private school next )(raising hand here that i also went to a private school, and i had a mixed bag of love/hate for it.No regrets tho. it gave me that extra hand-up going into college, that I needed.

I think when Cory said to Taylor, that he felt bad that he had everything  his Chey wanted, he was gleeful. it was a true case of  him being, sorry/no sorry.

I agree it was over share, but i loved Taylor's  dry respond "she'll be ok" hahaha. So will Taylor.

I wonder if Taylor wore white at that party cuz she might never get to at a wedding.

I know what you mean!  I have been keeping super odd hours since the quarantine, and I was so up in arms about Schwartz when this episode aired, that I think I started listening to the podcast where the hosts went in on Tom as soon as I found out about it—around 11:30 pm.  It was so good that I wound up listening to it in bed on headphones while my husband slept until about 4 am lol.

I don’t want to get off topic, so I will just say that now that I know that we can talk about rewatches on the Past Seasons thread, I am up to the back half of season five (which just needs to be renamed Season of Bubba) in a series re-watch, so if anyone wants to discuss those seasons, I’ll be prepared over there.

I do have to go back to work next week though, so I am so sad to say I won’t be able to be as active on the rewatches as I’ve been.  😭 It’s been so fun!  But I can still listen to podcasts, so I look forward to becoming more and more disillusioned with this show.  By this time next week year, I might not even be watching anymore.
