  1. I really liked your post. For non book readers like me, it is nice to read this thread to understand the Wildlings perspective, which has not been portrayed well on the show. Even the show has stressed from the beginning how important the Wall and the threat from the White Walkers is, but I wish the show had depicted the reason for the Wildlings urgency to escape the North better on the show. They touched upon it a little with Osha and Mance, but that was lost in the grand scheme of things to where anyone Unsullied is not going to understand them and will just view them as 100% baddies. With all the boring time we've spent North of the Wall, the show could have done a better job of this to make it more interesting.
  2. I wonder if Aemon was talking about a young Olenna. Looks like he really loved her, but obviously she was only interested in power and he wasn’t. Well, at least his advice gave Sam some balls. So was Ygritte the only female wildling? And WTF was that elephant and giants, hadn’t heard of them before? Was this LOTR? At least, the Lord Commander redeemed himself before he died. None of the deaths were surprising, they all got the casualty edit. RIP Pyp, RIP Sir Alliser, RIP Grenn, RIP Ygritte. And where was Manse? Guess this was his test run. But Yay Ghost and that ice breaker that Dolores Ed unleashed. And WTF is Jon upto? Wasn’t a very good episode but not too bad either.
  3. On 2nd viewing, I noticed a look shared between Jaime and Varys before the fight. Am I reading too much into this and getting my hopes up for nothing or did anyone else notice this too? I'm hoping this means that loving brother Jaime has a backup plan to save Tyrion. I can't really take another good character dying and to think this season was going so well with the deaths of Polliver, Joffrey, the sickos at Craster's Keep and Lysa. I may be able to get over Oberyn's death if it is confirmed that the Mountain died too, but I can't handle Tyrion dying or any of the very few characters left for me to root for.
  4. I don't think that beetle story was fore-shadowing of any kind and I think we're giving the writers more credit than deserved to think it was anything significant. It was just a waste of time, albeit well delivered by PD. I don't think we needed a monologue of gibberish to know that this was a dead man walking, the ominous music as he walked to the duel was more than sufficient. In fact, it actually took away from what could have been another meaningful brotherly exchange, possibly one of their last. I actually felt worse for PD having to deliver that BS than I did for Tyrion awaiting his impending doom.
  5. Well that was a sick ending, I actually threw my remote at the TV. I loved Obie, but his death didn't make me cry, just angry. The whole episode sucked with so much filler, except for Arya laughing at the news of Lysa's death, that was hilarious. And I have no idea what game Sansa is playing, its a very dangerous one if she plans on taking on LF.
