  1. I don't remember where I read it originally because I immediately dismissed it as being silly. But it has popped up in the comments on promos and whatnot and I'm wondering if there's not something to it. It's dumb enough to be right for this show.

  2. The most recent promo for the finale at least points to some kind of coma. Damon says something like, "Ready to spend the next 60 years of my life with you?" So if the dumb curse thing plays out like the questionable spoilers suggest, it sounds like he's willing to "let" Bonnie die a natural death decades from now. Then again, it's Mystic Falls. I could totally see Bonnie biting it in the very last episode of the show so that the final scene is of a Delena reunion.

I'm so ready for next week! Whatever is going to happen, we will at least get Kai.

  3. I read "spoilers" (who knows if they're true) elsewhere that seemed to point at Elena being under some kind of Sleeping Beauty curse that would only be lifted if Bonnie died. I kind of hope that's true because we know Nina is leaving. It would mean that Damon doesn't turn into a total psycho and decide that Bonnie has to die.

  4. If Jo being dead means we get awesome Alaric back, then so be it. He and Damon can go back to being angsty drinking bros.

The rest of the episode was as boring as usual. I guess it makes sense to bring Liv back for the wedding, but I just couldn't care less about her and her 2 minute relationship with Tyler. I'm still way over Steroline too. At this point, I'm just watching for Bonnie and Kai. Poor Bonnie spent a nice chunk of the episode being knocked out, but Kai's wedding crash made up for it.

And was that duct tape on Bonnie's wrist? I'm giggling at the image of Kai putting it on and lovingly stroking her hair while telling her everything's going to be just fine. I'm sure that's exactly how it went down.

  5. Liked the series up until Claire randomly disappeared for a few episodes. I really liked the character and her interactions with Matt so that was disappointing. I'm also not a huge fan of Foggy or Karen and found myself being mostly bored during their bits. Will say that Karen's showdown with Wesley was fantastic. I really didn't expect him to go out like that, but it was a pleasant surprise. Despite being less than thrilled with the latter half of this season, I'll definitely tune in for the second season.

  6. Season finale description:

GOODBYE, MYSTIC FALLS — In the aftermath of Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jo’s (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) powerful nuptials, things take a dramatic turn when an uninvited guest shows up, leaving Elena (Nina Dobrev) in terrible jeopardy. Despite Matt’s (Zach Roerig) advice to leave town to protect herself, a defiant Bonnie (Kat Graham) takes matters into her own hands after finding herself on the receiving end of a twisted plan. As Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) reach an emotional crossroad in their relationship, a reunion with Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) leaves Tyler (Michael Trevino) faced with a decision that could change his life forever. Meanwhile, Lily's (guest star Annie Wersching) reckless actions cause Stefan to realize the lengths to which his mother will go to reunite with her “family.” Finally, after a devastating chain of events, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is forced to make the most difficult decision of his life. Michael Malarkey also stars. Chris Grismer directed the episode written by Julie Plec & Caroline Dries (#622). Original airdate 5/14/2015.

Couldn't care less about Steroline or Liv/Tyler or Elena being in "terrible jeopardy" for the millionth time. The rest (Bonnie/Matt, Lily, "uninvited guest" - Kai?) looks interesting.

  7. I'm never sure if future episode descriptions count as spoilers or not so I'll post this here just in case.

Description of the episode airing on May 7, "I'll Wed You in the Golden Summertime":

ALARIC AND JO’S BIG DAY — It’s Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jo’s (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) wedding day and Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) do their best to help a stressed out Jo with the last minute preparations. After uncovering some life-changing news that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) has been keeping from him, Stefan (Paul Wesley) takes his brother on a road trip to give him some perspective on his future with Elena. Elsewhere, when Caroline (Candice Accola) returns to Mystic Falls after dealing with the fallout of her humanity-free rampage, she begins making amends with her friends and comes to a realization about her and Stefan’s prospects of being together. Finally, when Bonnie begins having vivid nightmares that Lily (guest star Annie Wersching) is coming after her, she enlists Matt’s (Zach Roerig) help in taking Lily down. Michael Trevino and Michael Malarkey also star.

Stefan/Damon road trip! Bonnie working with Matt! I'm just going to ignore the rest of it as I still couldn't care less about Alaric, Jo, or Caroline.

  8. The lack of Bonnie for Caroline's major arc and the lack of Caroline for Bonnie's makes me wonder what their relationship is going to look like when Elena is gone. I wonder if we'll even get to see Bonnie have a reaction to what Stefan and Caroline have been up to. Bonnie and Caroline just seem really disconnected.

  9. Allure nudes? Playboy? I guess it's something, but I'd really like to see a different kind of promotion for Nicole. And any viewers that come (oh puns) to the show because of Allure or Playboy are going to be massively disappointed by the fact that Abbie is not really showing much skin.

  10. I liked Matt's speech to Elena as well and I'm curious to see how he interacts with Stefan and Caroline going forward. I know it's not likely to happen, but I really hope that what Stefan and Caroline did is not just swept under the rug. And I don't just mean an episode where Caroline does her "OMG! I'm so terrible!" frenetic shtick before quickly going back to being Miss Sunshine party planner and obsessing over if Stefan likes her likes her or not.

  11. I'm guessing the Heretics won't be anywhere near as funny in their psychopathy as Kai is, which is just a shame. I'm already bored by them.

The Stefan/Caroline and Enzo/WhateverHerNameIs scenes really dragged. I find Caroline irritating at best so I hope they wrap up this humanity switch thing so she can go back to annoying in much smaller doses.

  12. I can't believe I binge watched this mess in the hopes that it would get better. Doug got way too much screen time and I couldn't care less about Claire. Watching her strutting around as the ambassador to the UN was just painful. Next season had better be her and Francis getting what they deserve. One highlight was notPutin! That guy was at least interesting to watch.
