  1. I had to Google what TFW means to the rest of the English-speaking world, because it means something completely different to Supernatural fans.

Also, I remember wearing Andrea's white carousel blouse to the Ren Faire when I was 13.

  2. I know this a ridiculously tiny nit to pick, but the Bobbsey twins are two sets of boy-girl fraternal twins, like the Walsh kids. Yes, I did spend my entire childhood in the public library, how did you know?

  3. It is random episodes of each season that are missing. About half of the second season is not available, including the EHG Canon episode "The Next 50 Years," sadly. Some seasons, especially later ones, are much closer to complete. Season 3 appears to be complete, season 4 is missing one episode, season 5 is missing three episodes, season 6 is missing five episodes, and I'm not sure about seasons 7-10 because I don't know how many total episodes those seasons have. They're missing a few in the middle and possibly some at the end.

So it really depends on how you feel about the missing episodes versus the DVDs, which don't have that problem. If you do go with Hulu Plus you will have problems keeping up with the season 2 podcasts, so I would advise buying that DVD season at least. The others, maybe not, especially if you want to save money/space.

  4. Also, Brandon's assertion that you can't study for the SATs is bullcrap. I got a study guide to the math section and improved my score by 100 points. SAT math was nothing like the math I was taught in school. I was a straight-A math student and I bombed SAT math the first time.

  5. I took the SATs in 2000, a few years before they totally changed it, and by that time there had been a big movement among colleges to de-emphasize SAT scores as a measure of fitness. I had a 4.2 GPA, so when I applied early-decision to a fairly prestigious liberal arts school, I had the option not to submit my scores at all. I did, but they weren't great relative to my grades (like Sarah, I quit when I got a 670 on math, knowing that was the best I'd ever do). I tutored a football player who didn't even break 1000 on the old scale, and I got a 1020 in fifth grade. Nobody I knew went into it thinking it would determine our entire future like Andrea does in the episode. We would've looked at her not unlike her classmates do, as someone who seriously needs to get a grip.

  6. Off topic, but I'm rewatching DC and yes, they did a student government episode with Andie/Joey vs. Abby/Max from Roswell.

On topic: credit cards must have been really easy to get in the early 90s if barely employed Skye could furnish a whole apartment with them. And how was she paying the gas/water/electricity before she met Brenda?

  7. The second clip of Jim and Cindy in the B.Y.O.B. Podcast was really low for me. Some clips in other recent episodes have also been low but not enough for me to have to change the volume that much, and not consistently. But I had to turn my volume up pretty high to hear that second clip of Jim and Cindy, for some reason.

  8. The whole series is on Hulu now? It's been paroled? Yay!

I have yet to listen to the podcast, but I can't wait. I'll be listening on my way to work this afternoon. I too was spoiled by the two-a-week uploads and have been waiting not-so-patiently for this one.

  9. I know it's a little early to call, but I hate everything about Juliette's baby/PPD storyline on Nashville. I wouldn't say it's ruined the show for me, but it's ruined the character, and I dread seeing her on screen. I'm desperately hoping she'll put the baby up for adoption next season.

  10. I just got to Jack (fake) blowing himself up, and wow, that is some seriously terrible emoting by Luke Perry. BAG in the Dead Scott episode looks like an Oscar winner in comparison. If that was the take they went with, I don't even want to contemplate how bad the outtakes must have been.

  11. With the announcement on EHG that Tara and Sarah are going to do a 90210 podcast, I watched the first season on Hulu and am halfway through the second season through methods. I have to say, without the nostalgia factor (I was seven when the show premiered and didn't know it existed until much later) it just comes across as preachy and tone-deaf, especially in the Issue episodes.

The wheelchair cousin episode really bothered me, but disability rights is kind of a hot-button issue for me, so no surprise there, I guess. I thought Kelly should have done more on the direction of calling Bobby out for how he treated her. I also thought it was incredibly patronizing how the Walshes didn't think he could do normal everyday things like cooking by himself.

I just got to The Next 50 Years and it was everything Jessica's canon submission made it out to be. God, Scott's mom really was unbearable! I wished David would have stood up to her more, but I can see why he didn't.

Since I'm not really looking at the screen that much, I'm missing the outfits. It sounds so strange that Brenda would steal her dad's shirts and that was considered a cool thing to do fashion-wise. And I thought the spring formal dress could have been a lot worse, considering the bridesmaids dresses from that era that my best friend and I played dress-up with, all puffy sleeves and crinoline skirts and yes, one of them was teal.

  12. No, Tara's right: there are some individual episodes missing, but the bulk of the first six seasons are available to stream on Amazon Prime. I'm watching it on my Roku right now.
