Hey neighbor! I'm about an hour away too, Salem, MA!

Right? When the one brother was on the porch, making jokes and "supervising", I could hear my dad and his friends, sitting around with a few beers, shooting the breeze.

There's a brewery here called "Smuttynose".

You're right, you don't hear the old Massachusetts accent much any more. People don't say "tonic" for soda, or "elastic" for rubber band, or "pahla" (parlor) for living room. People often say "oh, you don't have a Boston accent, though!", but I do, a little bit, and sometimes it comes out in spades. The other day I said something and my husband said "you sound just like your mother!". My mother is 90 years old and grew up in Dorchester. She still has that "Dawchester" accent.

    *Waves!

    Chelmsford MA here.

Why is she so stressed out, when she obviously thinks she belongs on our TVs? This being the second reality show that sshe's been on.  Honey, take a seat. Live your best life inprivate,  and stay off our TVs from now on.  You are sad; get yo shit together!

    Lol. Exactly.

Just watching the first episode now.  Not as good as I thought it would be.  But I think the problem is that I'm finding the wife so irritating and annoying.

This x 1000. Boo hoo I can't do laundry. Eyeroll. I had twins after 2 toddlers. I managed and no "look at me!" "I'm a hero!" parade.

Working 50 to 60 hours a week. What the hell was she doing? She's a SAHM with two kids and has to hire someone to do laundry? And, yes, I was a SAHM with two kids who was not the greatest housekeeper, but damn, girl, buck up and do the basics for your family. Because you know she has a housekeeper as well. If your kids are running you that ragged, you need to start teaching them how to play independently.

ETA: @MoreCoffeePlease, I hope you don't think my vitriol was geared towards you. That mom just really bugged me, and I had to vent.

Yep. Yep. Yep. She needs to get over herself. Stat.

oh.my.gosh, I totally agree and I'm no better - I totally get sucked in and then hate myself for how I sound.  Lately, I've been remembering something that Jen Coffey posted and it really stayed with me.   "You can't hang out with negative people and expect to live a positive life".   The ignore feature does work and depending on how you feel that particular day, you can always read what you've hidden.  I do that,  because I have days I can tolerate and then there are days I can't.  And another thing that bums me out is I seriously think there's a clique mentality that exists and if you don't participate well - who cares about you.  But like everything else it ebbs and flows.  Hang in there - you are not alone.

    Agree.

  4. It's disgusting. I attended Catholic school in a Boston suburb from K-12 thru the 80s. There was a boy who just one day never returned to our class. Many years later, I found out he had been continually molested by a priest. This kid literally vanished from class. His mother called the Archdiocese begging for help as he was emotionally disturbed. They did nothing. No one said anything.

This stuff was was going on everywhere. It was not isolated incidents like they claim. Huge, disgusting coverup. Just evil. Evil & nauseating.

It enrages me. Truly. I left the Catholic faith & would not allow my own children to possibly endure any of that evil shit.

His case is online including the letters his mother wrote. It's outrageous.

I don't think this process helped Sandra at all. It only enabled her delusions. If they were going to allow her to participate, they should have clearly defined how much she could keep, how it would be moved, and confirmed that the space was available BEFORE even starting the process. Allowing her to spin her wheels and hoard up the street only made for exploitative tv (and free clean up for new owners). If the new owners really wanted to be kind, they could have sold items at auction and given her proceeds and/or let brothers save some stuff for her without involving Hoarders. New owners and show producers must have known she was too far gone for this to work. That said, it was quite something to see what happens when the hoarder's home/hoard can't be saved and the show can't pull a miracle out of a hat. If someone is that adamant in not accepting help, but not mentally ill enough to be committed, they should face the consequences. All those people playing her game just made it worse. I don't think that nasty piece of work derserved any sympathy, ill or not.

They paid enough already in legal fees, delays & aggravation...Hoarders probably helped immensely, cost wise. Not to mention free help.

What a train wreck. Kristie and her codependent enablers. Wow, Hillary! What kind of spell was she under? She isn't helping her "wonderful" friend Kristie by buying her beer. Her going on about what an amazing person she is when she's clean... Except she hasn't been clean for 13 years and when we finally saw her clean, she was only a tiny bit better than when drunk/high.

(My bet is that by now she's already back to pooping on a car with people taking pictures and being totally unaware of her surroundings)

Yep. What a "friend"! And she gets up & leaves the intervention? Lol. Cuz she's sooooo amazing? Ya shatting in public is AMAZing! WTF.

Kristie's sister Kate was a dick. Yeah, I get that dealing with an addict is tiresome

I would be the biggest dick on the planet if for 13 years my sister was a drunk & used my mother as a pawn.

I actually do feel for Tiffany.  She married a couple of assholes.  Asshole #1 wanted a barefoot and pregnant wife who thought the cure for postpartum was to have another baby.  Baby number 1 tore her insides.  What did daddy do?  He put a new baby inside her. L

Asshole#2 comes off like a fairly nice guy for most of the show.  There is something vaguely off putting about him not working but his excuse is somewhat valid because someone needs to watch the kid.  But him leaving 85 texts for Tiffany while trying to get sober is stalkerish  .  I don't blame her at all for staying.  Even if it looks selfish her her main focus needs to be staying clean.  She is no good to anyone if she returns home and falls into the same behaviors.

Takes TWO. NO ONE held her down minus BC.

Sorry but I LMAO at "he put a new baby inside her." Cringe worthy speech.

If she was my sister, I would have called CFS on her years ago and those kids would be with me. I try to always remember that these situations are hard, and you don't always know how you would react, but I know I'd take those kids, 100%.

Agree...I just would have taken them immediately & walked out the door at this point.

I sneered every time one of this bitch's family members remarked that she was a wonderful mother who just loved her children.  If that's being a good mother, well, then, I'm Mother-Freakin'-Teresa.

I briefly stepped away when the husband's medical condition was explained...did it have anything to do with his balls being removed?

    LOL. Right? WTF.

Ya...she ADORED her children alright...while she was debating whether she could take her son to the hospital because she can't go 15 mins without shooting up. Then left him, alone, to go outside. I cant with that bitch.

And her family for just allowing those kids to live with her???? And doing nothing!

I wonder what season her kids will be featured in? Ugh.

  10. She was the great grandmother and had at least 4 children, and they all had a whole bunch of children, so there were 2 generations of adults so why was the boy forced to live with her? No one else was more suitable to take this kid in then the GREAT Grandmother who is mentally ill?

    Sooooo infuriating isn't it? Ugh.

  11. Moob guy gave me a little bit of the creeps, but I'm not familiar with him otherwise, not being "into" rap.  I saw very, VERY little difference post surgery, but if he's happy I guess  . . . (shrug)

x1000! Guy thought moob surgery was making him like a porn king. Gag. And his "oh so beautiful wife"? Ya ummm no.

The "model" with the bargain ass plants? She's "modeling" and has to go to TJ for surgery? Bitch please. And where is she modeling?

    Nowhere...thats where.

  12. It's not that I disagree with anything Tracey was saying about the importance of eating healthy foods, and that things like fake butter are full of crap no one should eat, it's just that it seems like it would be hard to take healthy eating advice from someone who is severely overweight.  It takes a lot of poor food choices to reach that size.  I'm not trying to insult her, it's just a noteworthy contradiction.

Absolutely agree. Tracy is worried about butter? Get real...she needs to worry about a lot of other things first...

  13. Boy George O'Dowd was convicted of imprisoning a male escort. He handcuffed him to a wall and beat him with a chain. Sentenced to 15 months in prison, was released after 5.

    Definitely a stand up guy.

Yep. Just another DB celeb whose criminal activity is brushed under the rug yet still adored. No thanks.
