  1. Loved the whole series even thought I thought the killing of Malvo was a little anticlimactic. I know the show's creators didn't want some kind of big gun fight, but with so much tension built up in every episode, that final scene with Malvo felt a little too clean cut. Even some of Malvo's witty evil banter could have added to the scene. Still, the rest was great and Lester falling through the ice was fitting.
  2. Funny, just remembered one of Fuller's interviews after the S3 renewal. He said something like that he was glad because S2 ended "midflight". Guess he also meant that literally.
  3. I'm stunned. I know some of you may have been disappointed with the finale, but i think the last 20 minutes or however long the bloodbath went on was probably the most intense and nerve wracking of anything I've witnessed on TV (and am surprised that they got away with it on a major network). It will be a grueling six months or so to wait to see who survived. I really want Will, if no one else, to live. He and Hannibal's relationship make the show rise above others. On that subject, was Will's call to Hannibal really meant to be a warning to leave or was it to get Hannibal even more fired up? Either way, if Will lives, there'd be no doubt on his hatred and desire to hunt down Hannibal now. Not for the attempt on his life, but more so for torturing him with sliting the throat of Abigal right in front of him.
  4. EW had a capsule review of the finale. A- No spoilers but said at the end you'll be wondering "what the f*** just happened?". This is far out there but, with some divergence from the books, I could see Will saving Hannibal from Jack. Maybe even killing Jack. I think he may have come too far over the edge and may start to think he needs Hannibal as much as Hannibal needs Will.
  5. While at the beginning of the season it seemed way too obvious that Red was Lizzie's father and the burn scars could just be a red herring, I am starting to think that he is, indeed, her father. He wants her to think her father is dead and never wants her to know because if anyone did find out that she was his daughter, clearly that would make her an ongoing target for any of Red's enemies. I could be wrong -- and kind of want to be -- but it makes sense. Oh, and I really wish Tom was dead, I'm kind of done with that storyline.
  6. Three episodes in and I continue to be impressed. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson may have early Emmy leads for astounding work in the otherwise good, but flawed True Detective. But as far as limited run series go, this one deserves praise all around. The writers and directors just effortlessly capture the Coen Brothers' pitch black comedy from its namesake as well as Blood Simple (which I still hold up as their best film). I really wonder how much the Coens have been involved in it (aside from being producers). I've always enjoyed Billy Bob Thornton, but love his character in this. "Could you find a smaller room for this conversation?" had me rolling.
