    Seriously, who do I have to do to get Nick Offerman nominated? Ron Freaking Swanson!

     

    I am surprised that Downton Abbey still gets nominations. It is like a slightly elevated soap opera. I watch it, but do not think it is great television, especially when there are so many great dramas out there that I think deserve the accolades more.

     

    I know it is an unpopular opinion, but I do not think that Kerry Washington deserves a nomination. I do watch Scandal, but in no way think it is great. It is so over the top. Bellamy Young might have deserved a nom, but not Kerry.

     

    I wish the Emmy's would get over their love for Modern Family. It is still amusing, but I think Brooklyn 99, Veep, Parks and Rec, The Mindy Project, and others are so much better at the moment.

     

    I'm so glad I'm not alone on Kerry Washington! She is good, but not great. I would have loved to see some recognition for Bellamy though.

     

    Considering the Emmys undying love for Downton Abbey and Modern Family, I'm inclined to believe the voters are just my mother.

    Count me in as another pissed about the lack of recognition for Tatiana Maslany. The person giving the best performance on television not being nominated for television's top award makes it impossible to take them seriously.

     

     

    I'm actually a little surprised that Orange is the New Black decided to field so many actresses in the Guest Actor category instead of the Supporting Actress category, and I'm really, really surprised that of the three they nominated, Laverne Cox was in over Lorraine Toussaint, just because Laverne was almost a non-entity for season 2.  I hope they don't cancel each other out, because I thought Uzo Aduba was phenomenal, and I think she probably could have competed in the Supporting Actress category.  

     

    The window of eligibility for Emmy nominations is June 1 - May 31, so Season 1 is the only season eligible, since Season 2 premiered in June. I sure hope Lorraine Toussaint is recognized next year!  Also, I believe Uzo Aduba wasn't a series regular in Season 1 which explains the Guest Actress nomination, though I would think she's most definitely the front runner.
