  1. Same here. I thought that implication was inappropriate.

Would someone PLEASE hold G down and shave his head. He looks like he's wearing William Shatner's TJ Hooker wig. And not in a good way.

  2. These spoilers have me seriously discouraged. We've waited so long for some follow up to Deeks's troubled childhood, and this is what we get? I wanted angst, and some insight into how Deeks came to be who he is, and it looks like all we're getting is juvenile melodrama.

  3. I just saw that tonight's Extra will be on the set of NCISLA. I haven't seen a single tweet or other promo about this. Has CBS thrown NCISLA under the bus, or have the publicists fallen down on the job? Sure seems like the network doesn't give a crap about this show anymore.

  4. Yes, because we all know government agencies other than NCIS-related agencies are the enemy....wait, what? Of course they show them as being hamfisted, but her question to Kensi, as we all know, was quite fair--she was so far over the line with that move to leave on her own it is right to question it.  And saying that doesn't mean I discount the suffering that Kensi is going through (and that was really well played by her tonight), because that is real and even mistakes in judgment should not lead to whatever she went through.  Especially since we also know that Kensi was set up being there without adequate (read "any") emotional preparation by Hettie (because Hettie was counting on her to react emotionally, just maybe not quite as emotionally as she did...maybe) which remains unaddressed.  But, it's the Justice Department, we don't have time for those fools.

I just so wish they hadn't done the Afghanastan arc the way they did.  Like a magician, they are asking me to "watch this hand", where Hettie is a target, potential victim, who also spent her own money to get Kensi back, so I should root for her and forget what the other hand was doing in her shameless awful manipulation in sending Kensi in the first place.

Maybe there will be some explanation going forward that works for me, but until then, they really need to get back to cases of the week and not have me continue to be annoyed by this storyline nonstop.

This +1000.  As "really bad" as it was, Kensi bears a lot of responsibility for her own trauma.  Hetty bears even more.

  5. "I am just frustrated.

    1. Why should I root for Hetty...the notion that Hetty could chastise anyone about putting agents' lives at risk...well isn't that precious.

    2. I'm not sure why I should find Kensi attractive in her thinking that beating up folks makes her awesome; I know we are supposed to think it is hot, but between last week, with the DEA agent, and this week, with Deeks, come on, it's making me embarrassed for her."

I agree with you entirely on both of these points. I no longer have any good will toward either of these Hetty or Kensi. Especially Kensi.

  6. I have a question about the last scene in this ep, where Deeks says something about partnering w Nell, Kensi punches him, and they do the "there she is" "here I am" lines.  I vaguely recall reading that the line Deeks said and Kensi's punch in response were both improvised.  I think I read it on the late lamented TWOP.  Can anyone confirm that information, and what was the source of it?

I know it's a lot to ask someone to remember 3 1/2 months after the episode aired, but I'd like to know.  Thanks.

  7. Another vote in agreement.  No more punching, no more metaphors, and some actual adult conversation for Kensi and Deeks.  I used to ship them, but not anymore.  I never got over The Punch, and at this point all the apologies in the world from Kensi won't earn her any respect from me unless her abusive behavior (physical and verbal) disappears.

I'd like to see some actual consequences for Hetty from the Afghanistan mess, and I'd also like to see what if any resolution Kensi came to about Jack when they were captured together.  The ending of Spoils of War had me thinking that she really wanted to get back together with him but he didn't want her back.

I'd love to see Sam and Deeks teamed up for a few missions.  One of the few things that I really liked about season 5 was the warmer  and more respectful relationship between those two guys.  Besides, if that left Callen and Kensi as a team, I doubt Kensi would try the crap with Callen that she gets away with with Deeks.

I know some people really ship Neric, but I prefer them just as friends, and frankly I prefer Nell in Ops to Nell in the field.

No more blind dates.  If Callen is going to have a girlfriend, make it someone whom we see and with whom he has some genuine and age appropriate chemistry (hello Grace Stevens, good bye Lily and Joelle).

Oh yeah, more undercover ops that last longer than 2 minutes.  Some background on the mystery that is Granger. More insight into Deeks' past, his troubled childhood and why he left the legal profession to become a cop.  I need to know that.

  8. Raja - I think Sam's fear of enclosed spaces dates from when he was buried alive (flashbacks in season 2 ep Little Angels).

Anna - Kensi has not only crossed over into asshole territory, she has firmly planted her flag and claimed that territory as her own.

  9. I've been a lurker over at the TWoP site for a while, and just as I was feeling the itch to start posting, they announce they're shutting down.  So I might as well start posting here.

I wasn't thrilled with the way Kensi was portrayed in Zero Days, losing all discipline to go after her ex.  Yes, I do understand the shock, but as other people have said, it was as if she had suddenly forgotten all about Deeks, the guy who has been so steady and patient with her.  However, I think when we see Deeks' meltdown, we'll be saying almost the same things about him.  Now, I'm a big Deeks fan, but sometimes I really don't trust the writers with how they're going to handle his character (don't get me started with the kicked in the nuts thing).  I just hope the writers let Deeks melt down in a good way, taking out his fear for Kensi on a bad guy, and not, for example, beating up the 15 year old girl who's a guest cast member for the rescue ep.

And even though I don't think Kensi will end up with Jack, I think he's going to be around longer than most fans want.  I think this because

there were a few calendars posted on Rick Tunell's twitter with the filming schedule, and a couple of post-its were shown indicating "Matt off" or "Matt in late" for some episodes well after "Spoils of War." I don't know of any other Matt than Matthew Del negro.  I think the Jack will come back from Afghan with the team, possibly as a prisoner but alive, and he may be the tough guy the Miguel Ferrer tweeted about interrogating along with Hetty, I think in the episode "Windfall."

Anyway, I think Deeks is going to end up with a broken heart, because the bottom line when I see him with Kensi is that he loves her but she can't love him back.

Sorry for the Debbie Downer post, especially for my very first one.  I've got my fingers crossed that I'll feel better after I've seen the next episode.
