I used to think ECO was handsome when he first joined the show, now I just think he is a scruffy man with not a lot of care for his personal appearance.  I also wonder if he is covering up a receding hairline?

Except you don't cover a receding hairline by letting it grow in the back.  Not that the front isn't  messy,  but the back is what's really out of control.  He's got a very photogenic and expressive face,  it's almost like he's deliberately downplaying it.

And then, when she asks him--because he raised the subject--what if they don't have kids, he says maybe they should call off the wedding. So, what does that mean? Does that mean if she can't have kids, if she can't carry his baby, he's not interested in marrying her? No doubt that makes her feel great.

Some people really want to have a family.  Deeks is one such person.  Kensi may not be, whether she's physically capable of bearing a child or not.  But even if Kensi can't carry his baby,  there's this amazing thing known as adoption.   Perfect for couples who want a family but can't conceive or carry to term children of their own.  There are many options open to them that they could discuss. However,  if one wants a family but the other doesn't,  that's not a situation that lends itself to compromise.  If they want different things from life, they are better off breaking up now before they get in any deeper.

I really believe this past episode was the worst ever in the show's history, the writing and certain characters were so cringy during this episode. The fbi agent made me want to throw my head through a damn wall. Idk what it is, but the overall feel of season 9 feels off and different than in other seasons. Maybe its just me and the fact I don't have love for Hidoko or Shay

I really like Hidoko,  and Mosely wasn't bad in this episode.  But as for the rest,  ITA.

Totally not! When Sam went after Tahir, he kept his cool--took actions to keep his team and Sabatino safe and certainly was NOT hysterical or frantic. Compared to Deeks in several episodes, Sam was cool as a cucumber. Deeks lost his cool in Spoils of War, Payback, and now (not to mention unwilling to take a shot when he could have). He's totally uncool whenever Kensi's in danger and not at all ready to be an agent. Deeks is a mess in those situations. Also, as dangerous as it was for Michelle, Sam didn't beg her not to join the Sidorov case--even though she wasn't actually an active CIA agent. Compare that to Deeks in The Silo--begging Kensi to leave and let somebody else do the work. Not even close.

In Rude Awakenings, Sam spends most of the episode trying to prevent "Quinn" from being called back undercover. He tries to drown CIA Agent Snyder (Sabatino's partner, the one who gets shot in Wanted) because Snyder has been cavalier about Michele's safety. In Wanted, he breaks out of jail to interfere in an already planned operation, to protect her. In Descent, he again tries to prevent Quinn from getting involved by pointing out that they don't know if Sidorov made Michele; Granger has to point out to Sam that the mission comes before any agent's individual safety. In Ascension, Sam breaks out of the hospital, but when he finally catches up to Sidorov on the hotel roof, he can't take the shot (even though he had backup from Kensi) until Deeks charges through the door and shoots Sidorov's assistant.

    Yes, very cucumber-like.

I'm going to assume that they deliberately gave the wrong info for taking over the silos so as not to give anybody any bad ideas. Kind of like how on Breaking Bad, the formula for the meth they were cooking was basically extra strong cough medicine.

Now how would you know that?  ?

jpk tweeted that Monty's coming back. I'm a dog lover--always have been--but Monty's just a distraction (like that box), so I hope that he appears very seldom and only briefly

Don't worry, no matter how often Monty appears, I doubt he'll have a lot of lines.?

Episodes are given numbers based on the order they are filmed, not the order they are aired.

Plus, Rick Tunell did not write these episodes. He directed 901, which was written by Harimoto.

Maybe the twist is that Kensi--tired of waiting for Deeks to ask her (it's been weeks)--asks him to marry her. I could see that.

He's asked her or at least brought up the subject 3 times that I can think of (plus the time when she was in a coma, which I'm not counting), and she's always put him off or changed the subject. He's the one who should be tired of waiting for her.

I think Deeks deserves to be blamed. He did a crummy job of searching that warehouse even when Kensi pointed out the three phones. If he'd been lookin for Kensi, he's have torn the place apart. Guess Sam's wife doesn't warrant the same effort. If I were Sam, I don't know that I'd forgive him--or want to work with him again.

But who was it that detected the hidden room where Michele was being held? Oh yeah, that was Deeks.  Not so crummy after all.

I'm honestly surprised that we're about to close season 8 and Deeks is still LAPD and not NCIS. I wonder if it will come up as part of the new LAPD investigation arc this seemed to kick off. This was clearly an episode where ECO only shot a couple of days--they probably owed him some time for coming in early to shoot the maternity leave coverage storyline.

They were supposed to do a Deeks goes back to LAPD arc in season 5, but when DR got pregnant, they cancelled it and gave us Afghanistan instead. ECO said in an interview earlier this season that the LAPD return was part of the original plan for this season, but he didn't know if it was going to happen (this was in the context of DR's maternity leave in season 8). I think this will eventually lead to Deeks becoming a full-time agent, and yes it's been ridiculously long. They should have just gone ahead telling Deeks' story whether Kensi was there or not, especially in season 5 before they were together.

No, we met Deeks in two episodes in Season 1 (Hand-to-Hand and Fame), and we've already met AJ this season (in fact, many viewers don't need an introduction to him since he's from the original JAG). Having a story focus on a group of new characters at the end is dumb.

My bad, I meant to say introduced at the end of season 1 and joined the show full time in season 2. I stand by everything else in my original post.

  12. They introduced Deeks at the end of season 2. The advantage of introducing a character late in the season is that they have the entire hiatus to adjust how the new character fits in with the existing cast, figure out the character's voice, maybe assess fan reaction before the next season's arcs are all planned out and half the eps are in the can.

Why is everybody so sure that ECO is leaving?

Seems like a lot of baseless speculation from haters. The production calendar shows ECO on vacation this week, something they would certainly not note on their schedule if he were in fact gone for good.

I see in Daniela Ruah fans page

The titles of the upcoming episode 8x24 is:"Uncaged".

I think deeks gets out of prison, ends the story of Boyle, but must leave the police and NCIS .... and .... Kensi.

    I m sorry...

I think "Uncaged" may refer to Tahir Khaled breaking out of prison. The finale appears to be a two-parter centered on Sam.

Saw a video on Instagram of a scene being filmed for the finale: Callen in gear and Sam in a hoodie and obviously upset. Also, Nell is back in the field. Is she in the field because Sam isn't or maybe because Deeks is back with Whiting over the Boyle killing? Too bad you can't make out the dialogue. It's the same street where Sabatino was filming.

I don't think Deeks is in jail, there was a behind the scenes pic of Deeks in the car (the Audi I think) with Nell.

Just saw a tape of PaleyFest panel. What was interesting was that Gemmill said Sam and Callen's lives will change--it wasn't just Sam's life as I've seen and read in some media (Gemmill did say that Kensi and Deeks' relationship would be changed by the finale, so that reporting was accurate). I'm wondering why the focus on Sam by the media when Gemmill's comment wasn't focused on Sam (unless he made additional comments off-camera).

Maybe Sam and Callen are the ones getting engaged! ?

I like your thinking. It sounds as if the "life change" for Sam might have nothing to do with the finale (although the Kensi-Deeks relationship is impacted according to the show), so maybe it's something positive. Maybe Aiden joins NCIS; there's nothing that says there can only be four agents. :-D As for the finale, I HOPE it has nothing to do with the IA investigation; that's as old and boring as the mole scenario.

I would love it if Sam's life change is a positive one. I don't have any particular desire to see more of Aiden, but if Michele were to join the team I would be thrilled.  But I'm not holding my breath.

I partially agree with you about the IA storyline. It hasn't gone on nearly as long as the interminable (and still not finished) mole arc, but it is still unfinished in that we don't know exactly what happened when Deeks killed Boyle.  There are so many different interpretations in fandom of what's been said about it that we'll probably need a flashback to get a clear understanding. And even then, there will be different interpretations.

Deeks isn't risking perjury, Kensi would be if she lies under oath. And of course Deeks would confess if it came to that. No way he'd put her in that position of having to choose between lying under oath or testifying against him. I think the problem would be that Kensi is a law enforcement officer and has been aware of the true circumstances of Boyles death for over a year without doing anything.

If Deeks can't convince a court that the shooting was justifiable, then he's risking life in prison, or even the death penalty (it's still on the books in the state of California.). What I don't understand is how fans can criticize Deeks and condemn him for shooting Boyle to save Tiffany, but some of those same fans go all shippy when he shoots Sullivan to save Kensi.  Apparently killing to save someone's life is murder, unless it's Kensi's life, and then it's true love.
