Most of my favorite seasons are older and I wonder why/how drag race has lost the magic. I just don't like the versus the world series. I don't mind the Spain and France seasons. Canada, UK and Down Under were all disappointing.

I've watched them all, but the only time I didn't bother getting to the finale was during the Philippines season. The Thailand season where two eliminated queens made it to the finale was a disappointment, too. Spain seems low-budget to me. Italy made the wrong choice in S1 in a way that no other franchise has blown it (Farida Kant is among the best in the world). The worst thing about Belgium is Rita's wardrobe. Vs the World is fun, but who ever thought that the world needed more Silky Nutmeg Ganache? I just rewatched her losing to Eureka last night, and that was one of the sloppiest lip syncs in Drag Race herstory. Sweden has a great cast, but one of the biggest boogers made it to the final five. However, Canada S3 let a booger take second place, so that one is definitely among worst of the worst for me from a judging perspective.

  2. Fux's outfit on the makeover episode was out of this world. Also, that was one of the best gimmicks ever to win a makeover episode. That guy came a long way, both in life and on this show. What a turnaround!

  3. I'm enjoying this version, too. Fux is great and whoever is designing his outfits is incredible. I was disappointed that we didn't get the lip sync we deserved for "Sexual Revolution,'' though. That song was made for this show!

  4. That was a good episode. The second episode was such a bust that I had lowered my expectations for the whole season. Now I'm feeling hopeful again.

I'm rooting for the two French queens. Both of them are doing exciting things!

  5. Jeez, I can't stand contestants like Betty and Summer who presume that they have some sort of agency in the game simply because they made it through casting. They're awful players, awful at comps, and both of them probably have the idea in their heads that Canada adores them. I'll take a messy player like Marty any day over a useless one like Betty.

  6. I'm annoyed by the perkiness of the cast every time BBCAN premieres. Once they settle into the game, it's usually pretty good, though. I'd be targeting every screechy girl.

I've attended castings a couple of times. I was a year older than Marty when I tried out for Season 1. I'd still love to be on the show, but I'm sure that they wouldn't cast me because of my age, even though I look younger than Marty. I've been a fitness trainer since 1986, so it's not as if I have one foot in the grave. I just know that I'd enter the house like Cody on BBUS and immediately hate everyone who couldn't stop mugging for the cameras. I still don't understand why they believe that's what the fans want to see.

  7. What I found remarkable about the Season 2 premiere was that the three best entrance looks (in my opinion) were worn by the three queens who ended up on top during the challenge. A lot of the others looked like fodder, so I'm not expecting a lot of controversial decisions, at least not for the first half of the season.

  8. I think Scarlet is terrific, but I also understand the "uncomfortable" criticism. When she's in drag, she does something that reminds of Laganja at her worst. She slips back into a character that she believes is charming, but it comes off as a bit desperate. The same thing happened in the Mariah Carey challenge during her original season. I suppose that is what RuPaul was getting at, although I could be wrong. Regardless, I believed that Kylie and Jan were far worse this episode.

It's actually worse than that.....On several other sites Keifer is known as "slackjaw" and people rant and rave about him constantly *YAWNING* and then sitting there with his mouth hanging open, he also has a terrible habit of using his fingers to dig around in his mouth to dislodge food stuck in his teeth while sitting with other house guests..  He digs out a chunk of food then he looks at it on the end of his finger before sticking it back in his mouth and eating it again. *barf*

He also wanders around the house with one of those little teeth flossing tools and will plunk himself down next to people at the table or on a couch and proceed to floss his teeth while joining the conversation... soooooooo gross!

This reminds me that Jon Pardy flossed for the first time ever (at Neda's insistence) during his time in the BB Canada house.

What did you think of LaToya's outfit? The romper with the gigantic fasteners in front? I thought it was hilarious. I sort of loved it, but also hated it. I had mixed feelings about it, let's say.

I forgot about it. I thought it was a winter coat when she was sitting on the couch. I couldn't really figure it out. That being said, mixed feelings are better than those feelings that make your stomach turn. I got those from Beth's top.

  11. I'm only interested in eliminating contestants who assault my eyes with their wardrobe choices. Tychon's ripped jeans moved him up to the top of my list. They were even uglier than the green, floral Henley top that Beth wore in her promo video. Josh's prison-issue sweats also have him on my radar, even though I should be angrier at his haircut.

  12. I started watching the meet-the-cast videos, but for some reason several of them were not playing. Anyway, Beth is wearing the ugliest top I've ever seen in my life. She's actually shown in my neighborhood in the video, at an apartment complex I lived in thirty-five years ago. It's a minute away from the gym where I work, and just down street from where Mark from two seasons ago lived before he moved to another province. Small world, huh?
