  1. I've been watching this on GAC.

I loved this show when I was young, I wanted so much to be Angela Bower with a big house and a Jaguar.

The last couple of seasons are blurry for me because I was working and finishing university, I'm looking forward to rewatching them.

I hate that Rakuten commercial too!  Agree her outfit is terrible.  What I hate most is that she sings “ on the twelfth day of cha-ching”, as if they’ve turned the holiday into nothing more than “cha-ching”…. A term I’ve always hated in any context.  I think this may be my least favorite holiday commercial ever.

I came in here knowing I'd find out what she actually says... I keep hearing "chachingle" and it DRIVES ME CRAZY!

On a lighter note, I love the name Toptunov. So fun to say.

    Yes!

I just watched the series over the last week or so finishing yesterday and I have that name stuck in my mind.

    Toptunov.

For some reason, I can never find this commercial. It was from the 80s and showed a group of people coughing inside a doctor's waiting room. A nurse opens up the door, holding up a bottle of cough syrup (Robitussen?) and says in a singsong voice, "Next!" Please help me out here!!!

Edit: I don't know if it works. Hope it is what you were looking for.

  6. Didn't one of the murdered girls bite Ashley's ear? wouldn't that make Ashley an accomplice/murderer too? Was this addressed at all?

Who was Camille's father? She's a Preaker, does that mean that Adora married into the rich Preaker family? was she poor before that? was Marian aslo a Preaker?

What about the maid? she knew EVERYTHING, right?

Too many questions, I wish I never watched.

  7. I bought an elliptical from someone on craigslist. It was either spend $6K on a brand new machine or risk $1.2K on a used machine. I took the risk, paid the $1.2K, plus $150 to have it delivered at home, used it 3 times and it died. The machine was in very good condition from what I could see but obviously there was something wrong with it. I contacted a repairman at a local gym and he said it was "the computer" and needed to order the part which is about $300

It's been about 2 years and I haven't gotten around to getting it fixed or even throwing it in the trash as it's just sitting there taking up valuable space.

So, my advice, go for the safest you can afford, I often think that I would've been better off spending the $6K, even if I didn't end up using it for whatever reason, I could probably sell it easier than this piece of crap.

    Good luck!

  8. Striped Chips Ahoy, they've been discontinued for years and I still don't understand why they would keep us from such a delicious treat.

    Chocolate covered PayDay.

Clearly Canadian.  There's an effort going on to bring it back... https://www.clearlycanadian.com

Jack In The Box had a sandwich called "Hot Ham and Cheese" I would pay big bucks to be able to have one again.

  10. Congratulations Shannon L. 75 lbs. is quite an accomplishment, you should be proud of yourself especially for keeping it off. I would like to know how you did it if you are comfortable sharing.

I always tell people that my life is very simple: I work and I eat; I have nothing else going on in my life. Having said that, my doctor seems to think I should be paying more attention to what I eat and how much I weigh so, I went back to the gym and started bringing lunch to work and it's made a great difference, down one pants size so far.

I hope to lose 20 Lbs. before the end of the year and 20 more next year, I want to do this slowly (more as a lifestyle change than just a diet) but surely.

I've been writing down all my weight, workouts and meals every day on my calendar, this gives me perspective that I didn't have before.

I have also made a commitment to discard a piece of garment each week and replace it with something from my bought-it-even-though-it-didn't-fit-hoping-someday-it-would repertoire, it's been fun so far!

  11. I'll have to actually think back to remember who I've seen over the years but one that usually makes people laugh when I mentioned it is Ratt. Any one remember them? Their unknown opening act? Bon Jovi. Hee.

@Ramble  I remember Ratt, I never saw them in concert though, but I am jealous of you seeing baby Bon Jovi!

My list in no particular order:

    Yes

    Sting

    The Police

    Stevie Nicks

    Fleetwood Mac

    REM

    INXS

    U2

    Eagles

    Heart

    Bon Jovi

    Depeche Mode

Most of them I've seen multiple times; I wish I could've seen Michael Hutchence's INXS more than once, I LOVED THAT SHOW.

I am jealous of whoever has seen:

    Eric Clapton

    The Rolling Stones

    U2 before ZOO TV

Phil Collins but I'm bummed that Antibeespray didn't like him.

  12. Sara Jessica Parker and her stupid screeching scream.

Diane Keaton, what the hell is with all the turtlenecks indeed.

Kate Hudson, even though I love "Almost Famous." I hope to get to live to be old enough for someone to redo that movie and pick an actress that I like.

Cameron Diaz, I haven't seen all her movies but she seems to be the same person/character in the ones I've seen her in, like Jennifer Aniston, but I like Jennifer.

  13. I can't stand Rachel Bilson. I cringe every time I see her, I wish I could reach into the screen and wipe that eyeliner off her face for once and for all.

Toni Colette, the only movie with her that I could sit through without giving up was About a Boy and it was probably because I can't resist Hugh Grant.

Anyone else experiences these irrational feelings for someone we've never even met?
