  1. no new episode next week btw...Suits takes its place
  2. a rare appearance of a female runner
  3. just spent months going through Spravato treatments (esketamine) for depression ....done through nasal spray...completely supervised at the hospital...there is one place in my mid to small city that does straight ketamine drip...I wish I could say I got as much help as the former cop/military guy in this episode...it had some benefits but it's a tough, and weird, process and I eventually gave it up...just felt the rewards weren't worth the effort...I could definitely see how some people would get hooked on it...no withdrawal effects for me
  4. yeah, I'd like to see both gone but they've never pulled that off in one off-season
  5. they clearly have come to the conclusion that lack of a sense of humor, at least between the two detectives, was missing from the reboot as compared to the original...Riley/Shaw aren't Briscoe with Logan, Curtis, or Green...but they're trying :)
  6. off next week btw...a repeat of season opener at 10:00 eastern
  7. real life today ripped from L&O... The Law & Order episode where a father kills an insurance executive is titled “Undercovered” and aired on January 16, 2002. In the episode, a father kills an insurance executive who denied a lifesaving treatment to his daughter. The jury is split on the verdict, and the district attorney decides not to pursue a retrial. The killer ultimately goes free. ................... Vanity Fair weighs in... https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/story/healthcare-ceo-movie-murder#:~:text=Thompson's shooting has also called,The killer ultimately goes free.
  8. what do you know, L&O decides some humor is allowed in the reboot...I'm not so sure they weren't improvising because it seemed so surprising
  9. what's his name? okay, Liam Aiken and here's an article about him posted by NBC https://www.nbc.com/nbc-insider/law-and-order-guest-star-liam-aiken-michaela-watkins-snl the judge, Michaela Watkins was also on SNL one year...didn't remember that
  10. okay, I thought this was a complex and compelling episode, my favorite of the reboot so far...I don't always like the ripped from the headlines ones but this was well done couple notes about one of my passions, pointing out repeat appearances of guest stars/roles, first in the original series, then people who have been in the original and now the reboot the new Mayor of NYC was in the original multiple times I believe...which brings me to the defendant...this was the kid in the original series who was kidnapped and then molested by a creep and then the defendant killed the young kid the creep brought in to molest...I think I have that right, but if not, correct me...thing is I don't recognize him from anything else but these L&O roles though I'm sure he's worked elsewhere...still looks young now many years later, playing a student...I believe he does go down as the first person to be a defendant and killer in the original and the reboot
  11. well, the writing for the whole reboot is not as good....but in addition, Kragen and Van Buren had charm and a sense of humor, just more engaging personalities...the humor element is pretty much gone from the entire show, I mentioned that in another discussion thread...Kragen and Van Buren just seemed like fully drawn characters, as much as L&O allows for that at least...these first two of the reboot don't inspire me to look forward to their scenes...the only combination I like, and I know I'm not the only one, are the detectives
  12. don't like Brady either...double disappointing to me because I was happy Dixon left...neither are in Kragen or Van Buren territory...the fact that those two held down the role so well for twenty years is a bit overlooked in my mind
  13. thank you, I wasn't sure...one of the remaining reasons why I continue to watch the old episodes is to spot actors who ended up appearing years later in another guest spot...I still get surprised even after watching them a dozen times each .............. and here's a Wiki summary of her... Emily Meade is an American film and television actress. She has appeared in films such as Twelve, My Soul to Take, Gimme Shelter, That Awkward Moment, Money Monster, and Nerve, and the television series Boardwalk Empire, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Leftovers and Broad City. Wikipedia Born: 1989 (age 35 years), New York, NY Height: 5′ 6″
  14. was the perp the girl who was in the old episode where the character had left home and helped in a killing but she said she had amnesia the whole time? glad you mentioned Schiff as on par with Lennie when it came to the humor element...Briscoe always gets credit for it but Schiff could definitely match him
  15. one thing the revival definitely hasn't revived is the humor of the original
