Liking the new girl, the 'force' is strong in this one.
Adalind, please, move away from Portland, maybe go to LA or Nashville, meet a nice musician or something, have some more babies that you'll be a horrible mother to and get off my TeeVee screen.

I have no idea if she would be interested or capable, but if you had any interest whatsoever about keeping a wackadoodle vibe in that time slot my nominee would Amy Sedaris.
Incidentally, she has a connection with Colbert and if Letterman still has any pull at CBS I believe he's done business with her aside from appearing on The Late Show.
[EDIT: My crack research staff tells me Worldwide Pants (Letterman's production company) produced the film version of "Strangers with Candy" starring Amy Sedaris and Stephen Colbert]

Great selection CBS. It appears it was CBS that made the call rather than WorldWide Pants, so I guess it will be produced by the network proper. Sadly Colbert broke Carson's first rule: Own the show. That said, there's a reason they call it the "Tiffany Network" because certainly in this case Colbert has already demonstrated he's capable of a smarter level of presentation than simply kissing celebrity tush and party games (intended buffoonery aside).
