I missed some episodes last season, so what happened to Roller?

He fled to Mexico or other non-extradition country.

So glad BD stepped in to take care of Baylor & Brianna. The best of all worlds. What was the court thinking Uncle Daddy could do it (of course, they don't know what he really does...).

Loved Polly railing on the judge after what he said. Whatever role in society you have doesn't give you the right to be an a$$ to anyone, especially people who are trying to help the kids. The Baron is turning out to be a decent guy. Glad Pols was able to be revived by jail!

"Quiet" Ann is so annoying. There's no way she's going to get out of the life. Desna has been trying to do that for a long time, but just keeps getting in deeper and deeper. I don't think Uncle Daddy's going to let her just start a new life after making him money!

Loving Virginia & Georgia! They're so cute together.

Patience OMG just break up with Coop already if you can’t deal.  Don’t string her along.

I was like "sheesh", Coop just got shot and her friend who has seen her through this ordeal needed help, not to mention Patience is the one who got Coop to trust Mo. And Patience didn't seem too happy in the video for the time capsule. I just hope that thumb drives are a thing in 20 years!

I felt bad for J.J. when he said that no one took him seriously, but I don't think he has usually (99% of the time) even made an effort to be taken seriously.

'Tis true, but I still sorta teared up. He mostly means well - in a bone-headed way.

Yeah, I don't see Simone & Jordan lasting once she gets to Brigston and the baseball guy is there!

This is such a shallow observation, but when Shauna rejected the bandage dress, my first thought was her boobs would've looked amazing in it. For some reason she hates "boob dresses" lol.

I have good-sized boobs and my husband has gotten me "boob dresses" and it's annoying. I'm not one to show that off.

I don't think it was intentional and just wants his wife to look hot for the reunion when he hasn't exactly succeeded. Seems more clueless than doing it on purpose. He was a Yellowjacket, too... Still, it's supposed to be November - in NJ - and still looks like MAY!

My husband jumped off a cliff (not 60' high, more like 30') and landed wrong and got water burns (like rug burns). He bruised his ribs trying to water ski.

Kurt was going to kill them so there really was little leeway on whether or not to kill Kurt.

And he wanted to kill Harrison and he was a serial killer as well. He killed Matt by mistake. He hit him during the fight - not that he didn't dream about killing the SOB (who killed and injured his friends in the boating "accident"). And the "stooge" was hunting him to take back to Kurt so he could kill Dexter. I do hope that they find the tanks. I can't imagine the energy needed to keep that system going for so many years. How did it get there without anyone knowing about it they can't do all that work in the dark of night!?

Dexter explains that the reason he finds so many victims there is because Miami Metro Homicide totally sucks at catching murderers.

And lawyers suck at putting them behind actual bars. But he also hindered police work to keep them for himself.

  5. One thing that gets me is that if anything, Natalie's hair is blonder than it was when they crashed...yes, natural sun highlights, but no dark roots at all?

The scene with Van was gnarly. So glad she woke up, but not sure if she's out of the woods. Yes, it was bad for Jackie to force Shauna to tell the others she's pregnant, but could use the medical help as well. Not that giving birth in the Canadian wilderness couldn't be done...

    Quote

Sure, she is crazy but only a little bit, lol. Two degrees in the other direction she could easily move from crazy to merely "wildly eccentric."

I guess no one found out that she destroyed the black box. I watched all of Crossing Jordan and the last episode was of the main team in a plane crash but in the dead of winter and the black box broke. The were rescued the next day, but not after injuries and stuck in the wilderness and the cell didn't work, even as a transmitter. Not even sure why they were going somewhere in a small plane - all of them at one time!

It was pretty funny watching Misty running away and snorting up the coke from Natalie. I'll have to rewatch the later part because I was distracted. How far does she live from the motel? That was super quick! Seeing the two of them be together is marvelous.

I like the Shauna/Tai relationship as well & nice to see them talking things out; and then seeing Tai talk to Simone, although I still kinda think that Simone has something to do with Tai feeling the way she does.

Speaking of Adam... how on earth does he think a getaway in the woods would be a good idea for Shauna?

Shauna showing up alone to confront Adam after what she finds in the closet is some real horror movie “let’s all split up; I’ll investigate the creepy attic by myself” kind of logic.

Oh, and find a large book bound in human skin...oh, wait, that's "Evil Dead".

The second they turned that corner into the trophy room, I was screaming "Get out! Run!  There's only one entrance!"  Seriously, how could it be safe to loiter and have emotional moments down there without a lookout?  They're so, so lucky Kurt didn't arrive home at that exact moment, cut the power and pour cement over the entrance.  Poor Molly....that was shocking, and I didn't believe it at first.

Yeah, me, too. That didn't seem too smart!

I think he killed Molly because he needed to kill and - first the girl (bad with names) who he shot in the face didn't work and then missed a chance with the girl with the boyfriend outside the truck stop. So creepy dressing them in the Marilyn dress in the chamber. Shiver!

Wouldn't the police have determined that the girls were last seen - most likely at the truck stop? Yes, of course, they could have been taken by a trucker (see Big Sky), but wouldn't they have at least talked to Kurt, besides, he had been a trucker. Is he supposed to very rich?

Harrison thinks it's cool, kind of like being Batman.  "You saved thousands of innocent lives!"

Remember in the original there was a whole "Dark Defender" comic book that was created and people were hailing whoever was cleaning up Miami's streets from criminals. As long as his kills were for "good" it was OK-ish.

While it might not be "lawful" for people to give minors guns (see Kyle Rittenhouse [not being political]), and the state of New York's statutes say that it's illegal, people in rural areas have them regardless of age for hunting, which would make him fit in, especially since "Jim Lindsay" works at the gun store.

I love these guys and would love to have them as my friends but I'm getting a lot tired of all the "Oh My Gaaaawwwwd" by everyone and the "a" that several of the guys (esp. Jonathan) add to the end of almost every word.  To me both of these things sound so juvenile.  These are 5 beautiful grown ass men.  I want them to speak like the grown men they are.

I like that they're having fun. Not many jobs let you do that! Jonathan is a bit OTT (OK, a lot), but he's the Carson of the show! It would be so much fun to see these guys meet up with the original F5 Squad. Antoni should at least get to go on Chopped with Ted.

Anyone else think Kreese is Johnny's  dad?

I think Silver is Johnny's dad.

Seeing Johnny using Miyagi Do moves was a thing of beauty. I did not expect Daniel to break out the "Quiet!" I did expect Johnny to call Miguel "Robby" but Miguel's reaction broke my heart more than I expected.

I felt so bad for him, but this has happened previously, and it seems like Miguel should know home much he means to Johnny, and not just as Sensei/Pupil. Miguel lets Robby get into his head about it, though.

While I liked everything they did for him, with some of these I do wonder if the nominator and nominee come up with a cute story to get picked.

In general this season's timing is confusing me. The first episode skips a year due to Covid, but when are the others? There seems to be no evidence of the pandemic in the other episodes. I assumed the high school seniors were class of 2021 who'd been in remote school for over a year, but then I thought I heard them say Prom Queen 2020 at the prom itself, but that wouldn't make sense.

I saw that about the Prom Queen 2020 as well and wondered if they announced it for 2020 since they didn't have a prom. I was confused that there were so many people, but only 7(?) kids in the class? They said something about parents. No one had masks on that I could tell and even in TX, I would think they would with so many people.

I messed up about Terri; I was thinking about Jereka and her wig. I was annoyed at Terri with her treatment of her daughter. Yes, she was judging you because you wore hoochie clothes and wouldn't listen to her!! I didn't like the multi-color sequins dress or the green tile in the bathroom, but that's just not my taste, but the other outfit she tried on was OK. I wonder if anyone mentioned that maybe she should get some Ritalin to help with the ADHD. I'm interested in the cap thing Jonathan gave her. I've seen the ads - my hair is OK, but I'm curious.

They would have been bullies if they weren't in the war anyway. It's an excuse. We don't need the time to understand that.

Kreese was the one being picked on at the beginning of season 2, but became hardened when his leader told him that his girlfriend had died and he had "nothing" to live for, and his mom had psychological issues. But a lot of the resentment coming home from Vietnam and treated badly.

Don't understand about why they didn't get into the pond to catch the poor koi? Wouldn't have been nicer to try to catch flies?

    Daniel is so overbearing.

Also WHAT was that random shot of Antoni shirtless washing his dog?  Not that I’m complaining but I actually said out loud “what is happening right now?”

So much of the episode had him in a sleeveless shirt and no lower pants-leg pants!

So many great episodes. Terri said her hair started going grey early and felt it was easier to wear a wig. She was so lovely!

Bobby is so not going to keep what they did for him and I hope that his ex figures out that she needs more. I love the shipping container house and front deck. If he owns his own business, there's more to his job then he needs other clothes to meet with investors and other people about the business - not just running around on the farm and on a horse. I would like to see an update - I could be wrong.

The kids with the Prom were so adorable. And amazing!!

I am confused as to why Misty chose to join Taissa and the others heading south. Did she want Ben to think she was as brave as Taissa?

That goodbye to Ben was so creepy and weird - Samantha Hanratty hits it out of the park and Christina Ricci catches it (yes, I'm mixing my baseball metaphors!).

I totally agree with this. Michael C. Hall can be very charismatic, especially on the original run. What I liked about Dexter was that he was mild mannered in general, and it came off a lot more genuine than Jim.

There were more people in Miami to blend in with. I'm surprised he's stayed in Iron Lake so long. New people are kind of suspicious in small towns, although some will say you can be who you want to be (I disagree).

Just watched Blackadder's Christmas Carol (1988), where MM appears as Queen Victoria 😄

    Wow, I must find that!!

I thought it kind of a strange conversation between Lucille & Phyllis about bridesmaids. "They're usually someone special - like a sister - beat, (basically) none of you is like a sister, but here are the pearls I took out of your drawer to remind you of a dear friend you lost...but you still won't be a bridesmaid..."

It was nice to remember Barbara, I had forgotten about the pearls. I haven't wanted to cry so much to rewatch that.

Loved the Hen/Stag party scenes! Drunk midwives (except Trixie) but no one had a hangover the next day, just the black eye. I thought they would lance it, too, but then remembered leeches and had to turn away even though they didn't really show much. Apparently, leeches have been used recently for skincare. The doctors from Botched tried them and didn't find any great changes from using them.

Dr. Turner & Tim going on the house call and Dr. Turner keeping Tim from falling into "sin". Then the monstrous gift basket with the rum of said punch. Even Miss Higgins getting into the spirit(s)!

Tim's face during the forceps births and relief afterward. I wonder if he'll decide on a specialty or get more of a general doctor like his dad.

Yeah, Sheilagh is a bit over the top with her concern, but she was a nun so I understand her inherent empathy.

Awww, Reggie & Cyril being buds.

  20. Poor Van! I hope Misty is happy about breaking the black box....

Poor Jackie! Even though she's annoying, that's not a good feeling to find out that out.

How long have they been out there by now? Six weeks, which would make it Mid June or so?

C'mon Shauna, you can find a better hiding place for your journal than that! SMH.

The current stuff seems so farcical. Even the Misty kidnapping stuff.

  21. The woods part had me thinking about the woods scene from The Sopranos but that was so much better. If I'd been Dex, why not take all of the knives - or stick him from behind while the guy was looking at the knives - but no, he had to be cute with the mirror.

So random with the baseball stuff. Just trying to get Harrison's trust by hitting him repeatedly with the baseballs? Trying to say that Dex beat him? What was he going to say about why Harrison is missing? Didn't Kurt pick him up from downtown and people see them go off together? Super sketchy. The ski mask stuff sort of reminded me of Patrick Bateman from American Psycho, popping up wearing the plastic raincoat and talking about Huey Lewis & the News!

    Angela's getting smart...watch out, Dex!

Dex is definitely at least a sociopath, the question for the TV series is - is he a psychopath? Didn't he try to see a therapist (Tony Goldwyn) and he turned out to be a killer as well? I don't remember specifically, but I do remember Tony Goldwyn was a therapist. Dear therapist, my son has urges to kill how do make those stop? Harry definitely used Dexter to fulfill his own agenda - to get bad guys who have skirted the law.

    Quote

😄 That episode should have been titled, "Dexter has a Brain Fart". I wish we could find out what life was like for Harrison, being raised by a ruthless murderer. Gee, will Dex ever get curious enough to ask maybe a question or two about his child's life? Probably not.

He's probably afraid to find out. But why not just ask, especially if Hannah ever said anything about him - but apparently not.

Right, but is there another one we don't even know about yet?

Like they pulled Maggie out of thin air. Mer must be annoyed. Here's Lexie on one hand who skipped a grade and Maggie graduated from college at 16 or so, on the other hand. Mer's smart, but not uber smart (or have an eidetic memory) like those two. Maybe Molly's daughter is a doctor - or will be an intern as well.
