I was in high school when the original Roseanne aired. In my Midwestern high school, your first year, your parents met with your guidance counselor and provided them with the two classes you wanted as electives. I told my mom, before she went off to her meeting with my guidance counselor, that I wanted her to sign me up for French and Biology. Mom was born and raised in Germany, as was my dad.
Mom signed me up for Home Ec and German.
I can totally picture Roseanne putting Darlene in Home Ec, just for the fun of that.
