Yes I can see that. As the sister of a 30yrs old Tall Toddler, our society FAWNS over special needs CHILDREN. Once puberty hits and they are no longer young, cute and no amount of therapies or interventions can transform them into “typical tax payers” the attention stops- the services stop- the supports stop; at a time when parents need them the MOST.

Ali may have a very fulfilled productive life ahead of her, but no one is going to give LEAH attention due to Ali’s disability in another 20yrs, or even 10yrs IMHO.

Such a sad commentary on our society.

It's so unlikely that Ali will prove us all wrong but I still hope just a little.

It looks like the diagnosis of gestational diabetes may have been a mistake. After Seeing the diabetes doc and 10 days of glucose testing 4 times a day, the doc told her everything was perfect and to eat whatever she wants. Her new OB (who she loves!!) will keep a close eye on everything but it looks like everything is moving along just like it should and mom and peanut are in perfect health. What a relief!!

I'm so relieved for her! What great news!!!

Does anyone here  have experience with gestational diabetes? Our daughter found out last week that she's developed it. Poor kid. My heart just broke for her because she was blaming herself and it could not have been farther from the truth. She eats an extremely healthy diet and has done everything right before she got pregnant and throughout her pregnancy. She can't get in to see the specialist until next week, so she bought some cookbooks and is eating a dietetic diet. I'm going with her and my son in law to see the specialist and we are hoping she can control things with diet and increased exercise but, if she needs to use insulin, she'll get though it like a champ!  She's 30 weeks along now and is glad this happened now instead of earlier on in her pregnancy.

I'm late to the party as usual and I hope your daughter has already received all the answers she needs from her new OB and diabetes care provider. But I wanted to let you know that I had gestational diabetes. I ended up on insulin and my son had (temporary) complications. He and I are doing great now and I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you might have!

Ha, she's got to get in nursing school first! And before she's even eligible for that she'll have to take a number of prerequisites, as I am guessing most of those classes weren't taken while she was getting her mass comm degree. And she won't be able to pass those if she misses classes for her numerous vacations, no matter how many checks she writes to DSU.

    Excellent point!

  5. I mean, it can be a good career. If she played her cards right she could make a decent living. But I have a hard time seeing Kail putting up with all those whiny, needy sick people all the time.

Just now, standing in the kitchen, making kung pao chicken.

Worrying about Kaiser as I do so.

I've said it before but I wanted one kid, I have one kid and it's working out great for me. But more and more I have to choke back the urge to drive halfway across the country to gather all those kids up, bring them home with me and show them how a loving family operates.. Except Jace, he belongs with Barb.

So, Javi said that he was initially stationed in Kansas, that he and Kail were prepared to leave and then he got the call, stating he was going to be stationed in Dover. So, Kail was just going to take Isaac to Kansas prior the the judge making a decision?

Fort Riley is right next door to me!  I wonder if Kail would have bought her degree from the university where I work instead. We sure dodged a bullet there...

  8. I'm quite happily one and done with my own towheaded toddler, but if I were offered the chance to take care of any or all of the unfortunate children under Janelle's care I'd be hard-pressed to say no. My heart breaks for all of the kids in that picture.

  9. I saw the baby drowning/ baptism as a test. He was doubting that God saved him from dying by gunshot so he was going to see if He would save the baby from drowning.

But I didn't follow what happened after the brother dying that made Marilla and Matthew both turn into spinsters?

I don't remember exactly where, I think one of the later episodes, Marilla explains that after their older brother died their mother was too broken to take care of anything anymore.

  11. I don't believe for one second that Kail's OB recommended she not wear a seatbelt. I was technically high risk due to being ancient plus other complications that developed. My doctor never once suggested I not wear one, in fact I was reminded more than once  that wearing a seatbelt was one of the most important things I could do to keep baby safe.

Am I reading right that Kail is keeping his dog away from him? That's cold.

I just saw the announcement for the TM cruise. I mean really? WTF?? Themed cruises can be fun, but if the theme is built around specific individuals, then they usually have some kind of talent (signing, dancing, cooking) or knowledge (experts in archaeology, film, history, etc). I'm not sure what these chicks are supposed to be doing by way of entertainment  for the passengers, because you tend to pay more for a themed cruise, so there is usually extra entertainment by way of shows, parties, lectures, etc. I'm also wondering who would be the audience for them. Outside of people like us who watch to snark, isnt their fan base made up up mostly teen girls? How many of them cruise. But I did get a kick out of how Farrah was not invited because they wanted to keep it family friendly, lol.

I doubt the whole ship is reserved for the Teen Mom passengers. Imagine being one of the people who thought they were booking a regular cruise. Being stuck on a boat with a bunch of Teen Mom fans is not my idea of a relaxing vacation.

  13. My husband and I enjoy the occasional cruise so I texted him, "Your dreams have come true...there's going to be a Teen Mom cruise." To which he responded, "I would jump overboard." LOL That's my man!

  14. My husband used to hate-watch with me, but he started to get too upset with the stupidity so he had to stop. I watch occasionally mostly keep up-to-date here. We still share news and gossip about TM2 though. He can't quite quit the show entirely.

I love coming here, you guys keep me feeling sane with this show. Especially when I've read some of the fans' comments elsewhere.
