It astounds me that the CW still can't write for Katie Cassidy. She's best as the snarky, waspish anti-hero but as @APINKNIGHTMARE said in the live posting thread, that works for a secondary character but it's too much for a primary character. Maybe they're trying too hard.

That because Juliana's Dinah is their chosen definitive Black Canary, They already give her all the elements of Black Canary quietly and just seem to easily give her more to work with. The one they chose to be a Crisis Hero and Team Arrow member.  KC hasnt had a role in well, a long time.   Katie Cassidy's role and purpose in this tv universe is AIR.

All they give her is the  bitchness [which i dont find funny], and the white hair.

It's the year 2040 in Star City and Mia Queen has everything she could have ever wanted.

Ha. I guess they have already forgotten about Oliver and Felicity...they got their new money makers now.

Dinah was more tolerable, but I kept wishing for William to be brought in to do tech support, but nope; Dinah’s apparently intended to be their tech person.

Wouldnt make much sense to have girl power " Birds of Prey" lite team, and the tech one is a man, a pretty vital role.

Dang it, now I'm mad it isn't Sara for a pilot cameo, since that would have made way more sense (Sara was a Paragon who automatically remembered everything, she and Mia bonded in the crossover, she personally knew Oliver and saw his sacrifice firsthand, etc.)

Well that just shows how the  spin off creators poorly planned this and arent really serious at all, Sara is not the one they wanted to use for this spin off, she  has her own show that  just got renewed. They should have been establishing connections with Mia to the actual 2 Canaries she is going to be in spin off with.  Now they are starting from a very weak point and desperately trying to create connections that are barely there.

Awkward when you hate the characters so much, spend years trashing them and then realise you gonna need them for your next moneymaker.

can almost see how Laurel can feature into a spin-off, maybe, but why Dinah? The character doesn't have all that much to her.

Disagree. Dinah Drake is the writers/show's chosen Black Canary, the one that showed up in Crisis crossover, the one they chose to be a member of Oliver's Team Arrow. Dinah D has more more reason to be in this and mentor Mia than Laurel...

Dinah owns a bar called The Fishnet.

LOL WOW, Juliana's Dinah has that too and she sings, pretty much getting lots of Black Canary elements. Paralleling with the BOP movie Dinah. She even has the real comic name.  So Katie Cassidy's character just exists huh, just there for decoration.... And she still signed up.

Fans of the Canaries and fans of the 2040 crew will both be happy, as there’s a great mix between them, as Dinah and Laurel have to start becoming intertwined with the future world in which they’re currently living.

LMAO, this frankenstein patchwork is so gonna work..🤔🙄

Like, with picking up Superman and Walker because of their bigger brands (and with Stargirl thrust on them)

Doubt it had to be thrust on them, Stargirl looks to be a Legacy show with a Teen Female lead with much higher production values than a typical CW superhero show and has a clear focus on what it is and wants to be. CW likely, gladly wanted the show, seems like a no brainer to pick it when offered.  Also is a fresh story and not just a reboot of what you already done for 8 years🙄

They got given something that looks far superior that their usual offerings. This is a show that will elevate their network and DC superhero slate, and they need it badly after  the #CrisisoninfiniteEarths dumpster fire.

  7. Here I was just waiting for just a pilot order announcement this January, but CW had to go big and give this straight to series order. Awesome. Good for Jared P, he sounds very passionate about this role and project.

I think an action/western themed show will be good for CW, something new and different from their usual offerings. Something that stands out.

March premiere date may prove to be the show’s wisest decision WRT capturing a TV audience. Roswell will still be airing after a lot have wrapped for the season.

Most Broadcast networks TV shows wrap up in May. I just think the late premiere has ruined this show's chances of getting a much bigger audience. I dont know why CW wont give its new shows a better chances to succeed like they used to do in the past. Shows like The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural,The Flash, Riverdale etc, always used to get fall premieres and at 8. And they became the networks biggest shows.

Fans Rally to #SaveHannibal in the Wake of “Clarice” Television Series Announcement from CBS

In the wake of the announcement, “Hannibal” fans have been using #SaveHannibal to show their undying support for Fuller’s take on Harris’ world, which had plans to bring Clarice Starling into the fold going forward. Unfortunately, MGM had different plans, leading them to partner with CBS on the “Clarice” series that will have nothing to do with NBC’s “Hannibal.”

They were leaks about Bianca "Scott" sometime ago.

    A) Clark and Lois lose their son in the time-stream and he spends 15 years growing up without them until he returns as a teenager.

    B) the Superman & Lois spin-off is set about 15 years in the future (c. 2035) with Jon having grown up normally but leaving the series completely out of temporal step with Supergirl and the rest of the Arrowverse shows (making ever crossing over even with Supergirl difficult).

I certainly prefer the A option, and then the show will be set in 2020. I wouldnt want Superman and Lois show to be isolated in 2035. In any case a future show is only going to cause trouble to the shows still set in current time.

Of those, A is such a downer/parent's worst fear scenario that I can't see them using it for the core of an ongoing Superman series.

True but it probably wouldnt be 15 years to them but maybe a couple of hours/days before he is returned to them. In any case I still think could be something like rapid aging that result in a 14 year old Jonathan.

The CW Gave a Superman Show to the Wrong Version of the Character
BY NICHOLAS RAYMOND  DEC 29, 2019
    https://screenrant.com/superman-show-cw-wrong-version-kingdom-come-brandon-routh/

I disagree, Brandon Routh has played Ray Palmer for too long in this universe, I cant see him as any other hero but Ray/Atom. It would be like watching Ray trying to be Superman. Besides his superman is a mash up of Superman Returns and Kingdom come, sounds like that would be a nightmare to do a series on.

It was mostly set in a small town, but not Smallville... instead it was just a short hop upstate from Metropolis (close enough to commute) and one of the subplots was investigating the weirdness in the town.

Ok, so not smallville then, a farm town near Metropolis makes sense.

but it might keep the idea of Superman and Lois as refugees of the pre-Crisis universe... mainly because it explains why Superman didn’t get involved with any of the many near disasters that occurred before whatever causes him to get involved again).

What do you mean "refugees of pre Crisis Universe" ?,isnt everyone  going to be that anyhow, in the post Crisis universe. Lois and Clark of Earth 38, the version we have come to know are still going to be the Lois and clark of this potential show. I dont think we will see an alt versions of them, replacing this version of them like in rebirth comics, thats just too complicated.

Honestly, I don't get some people's obsession with wanting a sex scene. What will it prove? I feel like some people only want this just to prove that WA have sex. That's the actual impression and I want to know why?

Because its storytelling, telling stories about humanity and humans have always had sex. You could ask why they need to show anything at all, why characters need to be shown doing  anything at all.  Its called telling a story, and telling it as detailed and "realistic" as you can.

No one is saying they need to show  graphic love/sex scenes. Just do what every other show on broadcast network does. Even a bit of suggestive scenes work, they are supposed to be creative people and they are a lot of ways they can have fun with these scenes.  And not just love scene but also pure romance and sensual scenes.

They keep trying to make this show into a kid show, its never been one, its a night primetime show. It has the same timeslot as some of its superhero sibling shows and other CW shows. Violence and other themes in the show are not kid friendly either. The Flash is not a Saturday morning cartoon.

  14. Might Superman & Lois Take Place In Smallville?

Now that we know that The CW’s in-development Superman & Lois TV series starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch is for sure casting two teens, we’ve also done some more digging, and unless the casting process is masking this series so heavily that even locations and tone can change in casting sides, it looks like the series may be taking place in a small town. With farms.

There’s also the teenage aspect which was previously discussed, with the character that we assume is Jonathan Samuel Kent, son of Clark and Lois. The character we assume to be Jon is 14 years old and already on his way to becoming “a physical specimen” — he’s also very polite, thoughtful of others, and declines a spot on the football team because it would cost another, older kid his spot. But another scene involves the “Matthew” and “Ethan” characters being cast (again, we’re assuming Jon and someone else, possibly Damian Wayne, possibly not) visiting their friend from school “Lauren” in the barn on a farm. They’re talked about as if they are from the “big city” and have recently moved to… wherever they are living now, where there are farms. It should also be noted that farm equipment is new to them — the boys don’t even know what a hay baler is

According to you who should be the narrator? Since the comic will focus on characters who wont be seen on the televised crossover?

Fine I get her inclusion in that case, still dont get why she needs to be the narrator when actual characters known to tell and write stories in the "in universe" like Lois Lane, Clark Kent, Iris West, Kara Danvers are right there. It doesnt feel organic as Guggie likes to say.

But I guess being organic goes out the window when it comes to his pet favorites.

  16. of course Marc Guggenheim couldnt miss his last chance to pander for Felicity, making a character thats not involved in the COIE the narrator of an event she didnt get to observe, sure that makes logical sense.

I sure hope this man will not be handling anymore Crossover events, he only uses these events just to prop and advertise the characters he favors.

  17. An Ok episode, like the return back to focus on Oliver, other long time characters and the Crisis storyline. Just the right amount of future kids and less spin off set up, in an Arrow Final season.

I'm *highly* skeptical they're doing Damian Wayne on a Superman show. And that description doesn't sound like him anyway. But if they are going to have Jon be a teen, it makes sense they'd cast a buddy for him.

Maybe, you could be right. I saw another theory that it could be Earth 3 Alexander Luthor Jr. "The   inherent darkness to him " and  "mercurial temperament and social anxiety " makes me think maybe it could be a Luthor. Exploring a kid "Lex Luthor" and friendship with kid Superboy would be something a Superman show could be interested in.

    Just a theory.

  19. I did not like this episode, if the writers did not want someone else to find out about Batwoman they shouldnt have done the story yet. The deception of having someone else be in the costume is tired.

And Julia, I dont like this character at all, would be glad not to see her ever.
