  1. Dr Eugene is going to work himself into an early grave trying to maintain the lifestyle Toya thinks she deserves.

I almost swallowed my gum laughing when Kari said "because Eugene is large" when Toya was complaining about their mattress.

I like this show more than RHOA but I have to break my viewing up into multiple sittings because I yell at Toya too much and disturb the puppy.

  2. I thought it was sweet when Beth's mom admitted she's lonely. I hope they're adding Phylicia Rashad to the cast for a good long run.

I think Tess is behaving like a teenager. I think this generation in particular confounds their parents by being baffling and inspiring all in one selfish, smelly body.

I feel Toby's pain but I would kill for someone to just say I've got a safety net if it all goes to shit. I thought that would've cut his anxiety but I guess he's not wired that way. Him sitting up in bed when Kate walked in worried me a little. Losing your job and a drastic shift in circumstance can trigger depression.

I love Deja and Randall together. I hope he remembers to give his other daughters the same reassurance.

  3. I love this show. I just want to hug Tavion. I love that both daughters hover close to the line of being spoiled without actually being disrespectful or unpleasant. Deja's boyfriend seemed like a really nice guy too.

It's so funny how they treat Ryan being a "player" back in the day as scandalous.

  4. This was a good show but Anna Paquin was so stiff. Am I imagining that? Does anyone else feel her acting was flat? I know she was trying to convey cold, hard ruthlessness but it didn't really work for me.

Still looking forward to season 2

And while I have no doubt that there have been many unjust sentences to black women with public defenders, a five year sentence on the other side of the country for mere possession doesn't make sense. Why would it be federal?

How long have people been talking about police brutality and "it didn't make sense" until they watched a police officer kill a man on camera this summer.

Laurel serving five years in California for a possession charge (and never being told a thing about her baby, despite it being surrendered to the authorities) is a huge contrivance that we probably shouldn't think too hard about.

Prison reform advocates/activists have talked about this for decades that's why activists now are at "Defund" and "Abolish" language because no one paid attention to anecdotal insights of over sentencing and separation of families.

It's hilarious to see people saying things like "no one put it together". To the system and the people that support it, Laurel was a junkie who got what she deserved. No one heard the nurse say that in the scene?

Sending drug offenders to states far away was a mechanism to break gang ties and organized crime.

The Black Pearsons need their own show. Maybe the network should sunset This Is Us and spin off to The Pearsons. We can visit rich uncle actor and aunt speeches once a quarter just to check in.

NYU is filled with aspiring actors, Broadway stars and children of Wall Street financiers.

Why would these people be any more equipped than Riley to clean a kitchen or bathroom?

Riley seems smart but lazy around the house.

As if Kandi is cleaning bathrooms and kitchens in that house. Riley is no different than any rich kid. It's just rare to see that represented in Black.

You're in for a shock in NYC, unless you can find some like-minded entitled brats like you to hang with.

She's going to one of the most expensive schools in the country....of course she will. That said, how is Riley any different than any of the other kids who've been featured on this franchise EXCEPT she's actually finished school and her mom is actually wealthy. I mean Kandi knows how to clean because she grew up working class Riley grew up very privileged...she's essentially the blueprint for Beyonce's kids (haha I made a hip hop funny).  She should know as much about cooking and cleaning as the Hadid sisters.

I think she's snarky on camera cuz she doesn't want to be there and is as jerky as possible so Kandi will stop asking.

  9. When Toby and Kate got in the car I was like now the Pearsons are going on roadtrips to deliver their speeches! Good grief.

I ff'd through the Madison<>Kevin storyline because I just don't care. I don't like Madison. She gives me crazy ex-girlfriend vibes.  Can you imagine if Nicole Kidman had told Tom Cruise she didn't want him to make any movies after The Firm? (I mean Interview with a Vampire notwithstanding) Or Rita Wilson saying no Tom Hanks doing "Saving Private Ryan"...it's ridiculous and I resent her naivety and I've never been a fan of the character.

Oh Randall, you made me cry.  I hope he sues the PI. I thought Randall's call to Kevin in the flashback was a dick move tbh.  Unless someone is trying to be a rapper at 45 I don't think you should ever try and squash their dreams.

  10. In the end I don't like Eloise. She makes this huge show of rejecting the conventions of the social hierarchy but throws around her status as Bridgerton to both the Modis and the maid she thought were Lady Whistledown.

I look forward to the day Marina more than anyone else discovers Pen is Lady Whistledown.

  11. Drew and Ralph are one of those couples that "play fight" in front of friends and make everyone feel awkward. I say that because only a couple with that mindset could have come on a show this big to show all the cracks in their relationship.

What's up with production becoming part of the show?

  12. Dot  is kind of obsessed with Fatim and it's annoying. The actress playing Toni is annoying. She needs to tone down the self-righteous anger I mean...I get it.  I just wonder what the writers' room looks like if they can't find another way for her to express her resentment of privilege.

This is very bingeable tho so I'll watch over break.

If mo doesn't need that check and loves being "wifey" why not lean into that? Goose and gander and all that.

Apologies if I wasn't clear. What I meant was why is Candiace in everybody business when she's not being truthful in who she is either? Does she have a business? Is this singing thing real? What's her storyline besides maligning Ashley's marriage, pregnancy?

Andy shouldn't have tried to throw shade about the money Chris has or makes. That's none of his business.

Many viewers don't like the fact that (darker skinned) Candiace's mother can buy her houses and pay for her expensive wedding.  Candiace should have to struggle like they are struggling. I only mention skin color because I suspect if Robyn or Gizelle's parents were paying for their houses or weddings, nobody would have such an issue with it.

Some viewers think if your mother is supporting your lifestyle when you're 30+ you should not get in other folks' business, especially their marriages. If Candace doesn't really work then why not lean all the way into the Black princess thing and stop trying to sell BrokeChris as anything but a manager at Ruth Chris.  Gizelle is jealous of Monique, her multiple homes , a husband who either has the decency to be discreet or is actually faithful and youth. Robyn is just a broke yes man.

Monique is unhappy because she feels several cast members have things (Candiace) and status (Gizelle) they don't deserve.

Chile Candiace has her mama's money and Gizelle has a made up relationship and a 1980s style house. Who the fuck is jealous of them? Gizelle is the Sheree of this show she just doesn't know it--with her broke down fashions and cankles.

  16. Everybody thought the bodyguards were sooo funny even though they were just another over the top stunt by an over the hill stunt queen.  So happy to see Monique bringing the receipts for the green-eyed monster. Oh please Monique tell me Robyn's bank balance or that the engagement ring is actually glass.

  17. My wish for Kenya is that she feels all the things she wanted Tanya to feel when she brought the cookie lady to lunch.

I've never been a fan of Marlo's so peach or not...I don't care.

Glad to see the ladies are experiencing COVID the same way the rest of us are. I look forward to when they get to retail therapy.
