I don't think Leanne won the kitchen challenge.  I think she only won the Master Bedroom/Bath challenge.

I was groaning that A&M came up with the retaining wall extra area because I thought they would win but then the stupid idea of the putting green...no..just no.  I knew they wouldn't win because it was the same as the bowling alley last week.

T&D had a beautiful front yard and I bet if they did something on the level floor such as an outdoor kitchen;/patio area they may have won.

I loved N&J's space.  I love the screened in porch and now that I know the floor isn't slippery I love it even more.  They did a good job on the yard too.  They deserved the win.  I didn't like the potted plants but then I have potted plants in my front yard so who am I to talk

B&M are still boring. There's something about them that makes their spaces meh for some reason.  I like them and their show but they are not rocking the block.  I'm with you guys I bet they win.

I wonder why they didn't have Dave and Jenny Marrs in this.  They'd be perfect for this show.

I like Dave and Jenny.  I could watch them on the show.  My problem with N&J's house  is I don't like sandy brown brick.  It is just blah.  I am also not crazy about the marble flooring everywhere.  Reminds me of a 50's diner, my grandma's kitchen and beetle juice.

Maybe I'm naive but I don't think the winner is going to be a set up. IIRC, last season they brought in two or three local appraisers and averaged their appraisals. Jasmine's house was only $15,000 more than Mina's - a drop in the bucket on a million-dollar house. The more "designer" houses - Allison's and Leanne's were in 3rd and 4th - they clearly got dinged for not appealing to a wide audience. The design vs value couldn't have been more apparent than in Leanne's kitchen. Leanne took down a wall of cabinets and put up a rock wall. I couldn't believe she won the kitchen challenge. Yes, it looked great but it was totally impractical in terms of lack of storage and being nearly impossible to clean. I'm sure the appraisers devalued it.

Allison won the kitchen  and couldn't shut up about how wonderful she is.  Leanne won the bathroom because she changed the whole room and put the tub in the center.

I do not know about rigged because Mika did not win any of the spaces and still lost at the end last year but if Mika and Brian wins at the end then they deserved it since they added value to the house by adding a laundry room and other stuff

That was Mina from Good Bones last year, Jasmine, and Leanne. and Icky Allison.  Mika wasn't in it.

I liked the Pergola. I thought the putting green and golf ball were really stupid. You can’t let the dog out in the back. And I’m not fond of Pea gravel sidewalks. It gets on your shoes and you track it everywhere. Does Mike ever get to make a decision?

Seems to me that each of the teams is aiming at a different kind of buyer.  M & B - big family, M & A - pink polo wearing country club, N & J - the sophisticates, D & T - quirky and fun.

I had pea gravel in front of my house for an extra parking space.  I hated it because it did get everywhere.  Had the area paved.  And I don't recognize this Mike from HOLMES and HOLMES.  He normally is outspoken and takes control.  Very weird.

Man, this is the third time I thought Mika and Brian got robbed. I felt like they should've won the kitchen and the master bedroom/bath suite as well. Theirs was the only exterior that I looked at and thought, wow that looks really nice. But I'm probably biased because I love Craftsman style homes. Didn't really mind David and Tiffany's pseudo-Tudor home, but they were silly to think they could just rely on their lake view to carry the back of the house. Mike and Allison's exterior was SO BLAND. It was like the very definition of builder grade. And the putting green was off-putting (ha) to me. Don't know why they thought that was a winner.

I liked Brian and Mika's pergola, but maybe instead if they had screened in that upper back porch, they'd have pulled out a win. I like a screened in porch (another Atlantan here, and agree about the bug issue), but not at the front of the house. Most of the time when I watch flipping shows, if a house has a screened in front porch, they tear that sucker right out and open it up, so Nate and Jeremiah's was kind of weird for me. Aside from that, I liked that they did an all brick house, but I hated the color of the brick. I just don't like brown brick/stone color...it looks so generic. I'm glad that they used dark accents to contrast the brown. It made the brickwork more palatable to me. But I really disliked that front yard "patio" or whatever they called it that was surrounded by potted plants. I thought at first they just hadn't gotten around to planting them. I would not want a bunch of potted plants sitting out at the front of my yard by the street. Doesn't feel safe somehow, and it looked unfinished.

I hope Brian and Mika win the whole thing. It looks like Ken and Anita will be the guest judges next week? Their style seems more in line with Brian and Mika, so maybe they stand a chance.

Craftsman and Victorian chick here, all the way. Agree with you on N&J brick color.  I hate brown, sandy brick.  I would never buy a house that color.  I also thought the plants should have been in the ground.  That was strange.  Allison and Mikes was a borefest.  I thought David and Tiffany had a house that caught your eye, along with Mika's and Brian's.  I would look at those.  The screened in porch seemed to be the deal breaker.

The new, second version I've seen with the popcorn bowl of the  migraine medicine is advertised by the Kardashian is so irritating to me.   For one thing, she looks even more plastic, and injected than ever.

I saw that and didn't even know who it was at first.  She looks so distorted and plastic.  I can't stand the whole family and anything they endorse would make me run.

You are right.  You would think the restrictions  and being at home would have given her time for a plan to train them.  Get them on a schedule that they go every hour or something instead of 6 3 yr olds still not trained at any level.   If for no other reason than all that diaper changing still.  They seem to be like 2 yr olds in development in many ways.

I am legit shocked that not one single team set up a gym space with all of that room in the basement. I think most people would get more use out of a gym than a game room, home theater, bowling alley, etc. I'm in my home gym every single day and most of my friends are the same, especially now when it's no longer safe to go to health clubs/public gyms. I would love a huge, tricked out home gym with a big TV, great sound system, mirrored wall, and all the equipment. Missed opportunity IMO as that basement could have had the gym and still had plenty of room for the extra bedrooms/bathrooms.

Very happy to see N&J finally get a win. As everyone else has already said, they were the obvious choice and I thought their design in the basement was a lot more restrained and appealing than what they did in the other areas of their house.

I totally support David and Tiffani's love of color as I'm a big fan myself, but lord have mercy, that was a serious pink explosion in their basement. I'm the girliest girl on the planet and I love blush, but that was just way too much. They should have just stuck with making one element blush and then provided contrast with white and black elsewhere.

I also feel like Alison and Mike didn't do much this week. They were resting on their laurels for sure. Kudos to Mike for that pipe lamp though. He's very clever.

I'm glad Mika had her sense of humor back this week and didn't take the loss too hard. Her outburst when they lost the Master Bedroom/Bathroom challenge was SO cringe-inducing.

I like blush also, I actually have some but nowhere close to that amount.  The ping pong table blush, really?  It was way too gaudy.  I also agree I liked N&J design better than their upstairs.   The bowling alley I didn't get why you would want one.  You are right about a tricked out gym.  I think alot of families would like it.  I would.

N & J: Ideal for multi-generational living, like aging parents or young adult children, just needs laundry. Not ideal for unrelated renters without a better private entry. Also that area may have zoning restrictions that do not allow unrelated tenants.

    A & M: Fine, basic, won't take away value

M & B: General rec room/game room would be better. My main objection is the seeming lack of a kitchenette with fridge and sink and microwave.

D & T: God-awful. A major repainting and new backsplash will help. At least that may not be an expensive re-do.

I see how 5 bedrooms adds value, but do most families really need 6 bedrooms? I guess it is good to have options and spare bedrooms can certainly be used as offices.

N&J's had a door to the outside from the room with the murphy bed for  a separate entrance.  Depending on number of kids the extra rooms could be offices since many work from home these days or bonus rooms for kids, to keep their toys out of the main area.

The gas stove statement was bizarre.   Though I fail to understand why the knockoffs of the professional stoves have knobs on the front where kids, and even some pets can turn the stove on.     I grew up with a gas stove, and we never burned the house down, and so many people won't buy a house without gas stoves.    Just get a cooktop model, or one with the knobs where little ones can't reach.

I love Mike's lamp.      However, N & J's downstairs suite added two bedrooms, for guests or a rental?   Not in that neighborhood, and how is the tenant family supposed to access the suite?   Walk all of the way around the house?  Or through the main house?     M & B's bowling alley is fun, but it's not something people will use everyday, and is going to need maintenance.

Thank God Alison and Mike didn’t win again.  I felt for Brian and Mika but I think they have the edge for the whole house.  The bowling alley was fun but I do think the rental suite added more value.

I’m kind of getting a flirty couple vibe from Alison and Mike.  I hope I am wrong.  I am pretty sure he is single but I don’t know about her. I could see a fling, but nothing long term.

Good God I hope he doesn't get caught in her web, and get caught up trying to help her with that  cluster in Chicago.

I thought Eric had a "preference" that all of the kids to be toliet trained before moving into the new house due to the hardwoods.

Being shutdown for a couple of months, or even once things semi-opened up, would have been a good time to attempt training. Unless getting toliet paper was an issue. Courtney might have turned into teacher mode though with the homeschooling...  I think the twins are close or in the grade she taught..

You are right.  You would think the restrictions  and being at home would have given her time for a plan to train them.  Get them on a schedule that they go every hour or something instead of 6 3 yr olds still not trained at any level.   If for no other reason than all that diaper changing still.

  13. I just saw Courtney's IG page and while most of the house is done, they are just finishing adding the master bedroom suite but they have been living in the rest of it.  She has alot of pics of the kids and they are now over 3 but all of them are still in diapers.  Not sure what they are waiting for there.  Where I live pre school won't take them if they are not potty trained.

I also thought that the lamp in N&Js house looked like a tooth. 🦷

I seriously thought that Allison was joking about her art and had something else in the works. I couldn’t believe that was how she used her color. Good grief.

As someone who turned the entire second bedroom in my house into my closet, D&Ts closet made me laugh out loud. That was horrible.

I’ve been rooting for B&M but her outburst at judging was a bit much and not a good look for her.

I didn’t watch the first season of this show but I wish I had because I just adore Jasmine Roth. I thought she was involved in this season for some reason but maybe she’ll show up as a judge? 🤞🏻

I like Jasmine alot too.  She is just a contagious personality.   She has been doing interviews with the contestants.  I do think she is involved in the judging at the end.

I disliked that ombre tile. It reminded me of what the walls looked like in our neighbor's house after a fire in their attic. Soot dripping down from the ceiling... just no! As a rule, I like Mike Holmes, but it really disgusts me that HGTV is pushing Allison down our throats. Can't stand her.

I disliked it also.  It looks dirty to me and I want a clean looking bathroom.  I haven't liked Alison since I first saw her on her debunked Chicago show.  And it is not just because she is abrasive, I don't like her gaudy style.  It is Liberace lite.

If the color challenge was “must use your color in a meaningful way,” it seems like there should be some kind of penalty for not complying. It’s ridiculous that nothing was said about N&J and M&A not incorporating theirs.

I kept thinking the ombre shower wall looked like dirt/mud sliding down the wall. Obviously not my style!

Yes, B&M should have included more in the shower than just the rainfall heads, but they still should have won. They were robbed!!

I am with you on the ombre.  It looked tacky and gaudy to me.    And after Alison raved about getting that color, she drew stick figures of herself and Mike.  How did that go unspoken?

I like Egypt but she choose the wrong winner,  Mika and Brian got screwed, Mika and Brian deserved to win, I do not blame Mika for being pissed but I do think Mika and Brian will win next week since they are going to add a bowling alley in the basement

Why would a bowling alley help?  Surely I can think of a hundred things I want before a bowling alley.  It doesn't seem like the type of thing most people would be yearning for in their basement.  BTW I would have chose B&M  bathroom also.  I like white walls.  That ombre just doesn't give off the same clean look.

Tonight it's the primary bedroom and bath.    And Egypt Sherrod (spelling?) and her husband are judges, but the competitors won't be able to pitch their design plan to her.     Unfortunately, N & J are going to do the marble checkerboard floor in the bath again.

And I thought  you were kidding about the marble checkerboard until I saw you weren't.  Ugh.

  19. I haven't seen it in a while but I saw it this morning.  The skittles commercial where the girl picks a skittle right off the guy's face who has skittles pox, like a zit and eats it. Ugh, it is so gross and the premise is unsanitary.  I can't believe someone thought this was a good commercial.  It still doesn't beat the Snyders of Hanover commercials  when they have people crunching and chewing so loudly.  I literally want to punch them in the face.  I scream at the tv and call them names.  LOL.  And I will never buy their product ever again.

I loved the black and white tile in Nate and Jeremiah’s house, and I LOVED the iron and glass doors.  I couldn’t live there (not my colors), but I really thought it was beautiful.  Brian and Mika’s rooms looked cheap next to everyone else’s.  So glad Alison lost.  I didn’t mind the black paint, but I couldn’t live with giant birds greeting me at the front door.  They won because they added the bedroom with the attached bathroom...the wallpaper could always be stripped.

The black and white tile reminded me of a 50's diner and the movie Beetlejuice.  My grandmother had it and other than play hop scotch on it, I just don't care for it.

I didn't like this kitchen at all.  I hate the monstrosity pizza oven look.  It looks dated and there is no working space next to the oven.  I don't know how Tarek pick this to win.  It is also connected to their living room space  that has the sleek white fireplace so they don't go together at all.

I came here to read the comments because I just couldn't watch it and by the sounds of it, they cried, whined and were unentertaining.  Glad I skipped it.  This show is going to die out.
