US Magazine, on the other hand, has this up on their website:  https://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/bachelor-arie-luyendyk-jr-called-off-engagement-to-date-his-runner-up/

But ... what about this, from Arie ?
' As Luyendyk confessed to Us, “The finale is going to be very interesting for fans to watch. It’s been an experience I’ll remember forever. It’s going to be fun for me to watch back.” '

    "Fun" ??

Caila does have some people that like her in the franchise. Sharleen has spent time with her in New York and said she enjoyed her company in one of her Flare recaps. Also Catherine Lowe, Lauren H., Amber, and Jami have supported her on social media. I still tend to think something is a bit off about her as I believe where there's smoke there's fire. But perhaps it doesn't come out with everyone?

The people you mention, who like her, happen to be some of the nicer people on this awful show.

Oh dear god! That's the kind of shit you post on social media when you are trying to prove something. If he meant it he would say it to her, not to all of us. lol Is nothing real anymore unless it is posted online? Seriously, the more he tries to prove it, the less I find it even remotely believable.

The only way these two are making it to the alter is on ABC's dime.

Maybe Jo Jo was (as she was constantly doing on the series) confronting him about her usual worries that he wasn't as into it as she was and that she had reason to worry with all the tabloid stories about his scoundrel rep etc., and he knew she'd like a public declaration ?

. . . That said, I also don't believe for a second that Jordan actually had any feelings for JoJo either ...

Well, either Jordan is just laying it on super thick or somehow he means it with the following Instagram.

Doesn't sound like something a jock would post ... unless he somehow actually means it and is risking ridicule by his macho sports friends --  even if he picked phrases from googling online ideas ... ??  :-)

What happened to Karen's partner or colleague that liked her? He was not attractive, but the closest she has had at a shot at a normal relationship. Has there been any back story to explain why Karen is so crazy?

He left to be a gigolo to the male Chief of Staff to the President of the United States in "Scandal."

At least that's where I saw him soon after he disappeared from this show.

  6. No way they last. Lauren complained on Kimmel that Ben's a heavy mouth breather, prays too loudly and tries to wake her up too early to spend time with her (but said she's trained him not to do that any more already). If that's her cute personaliity that production hid from us, I'm baffled by Ben's choice. It's way too soon to be that annoyed, especially about the way the supposed love of your life breathes. It's not like he can stop breathing...

All this really struck me too - but especially that she would choose this to complain about such a personal thing for him on a tv show broadcast to millions.  (I can only imagine his mother's reaction).

Then they both compounded it by his saying that they both pray at night in bed but that he prays longer and while she's trying to go to sleep (not a good sign for many reasons) but that she taps him to ask him not to pray so loud.

       ( ! )

  7. I haven't read all 3 pages yet, seeing only the first 10.

Red flags:  When he first appeared he was happy that he found a woman "who supports me" ...

is that what we want to hear first and foremost?

    *** And, at the end:

------ "You support ME, you love ME, you've been beside ME."  ***

GEEZES, can he say he loves HER for what she is?  It's all about how she treats -him-.

Otherwise, they look pretty genuinely happy with each other.

(I turned on the program at 8 and then fell asleep until after 9pm !  :-)

From 9pm to 10pm was not exactly scintillating! )

But I hope they do well, despite his concentration on himself and what she can do for him.

"I feel I'm unloveable" (his mantra) seems to equal: "I've not been supported and adored the way I need."

--- AND, re the Bachelorette: I posted once that I felt he was an ass to tell JoJo to open up despite her fears of being rejected just to have him tell her he loves her (when we know he KNEW earlier it was Lauren, as JoJo saw while watching).

I wrote that I could deal with the show doing all this (extreme exploitation of F2) only if they had made a deal with JoJo to make her the Bachelorette in return for what they were putting her through (either for real or "for show").

I'm glad she's the one but now I see even more why Caila wasn't looking very happy or well at WTA.

  8. A few have written about Lauren's sweet ways vs JoJo's more experimental mode.

The Star, In Touch and other magazines have stories about Lauren's having had an overnight in the clinker due to over-celebrating -- and her sister who celebrated with her but not to the same extent, was a source.

So, Lauren may be more "complex" than we had thought.

There are other things discussed but they involve spoilers so I'm not linking to them but they're easily googled.

Maybe Ben's mother picked up on something most of us didn't. :-)

But maybe the stories are exaggerated.

  9. That's the thing about Jubilee for me.  She doesn't out and out lie but she shades things in her favor.  Being in the Army Reserves is a fine thing, but she let people think she was in the regular Army for a long time because she knows the weekend warrior reputation of the reserves isn't quite as impressive.

During the WTA show, didn't she say that she was NOW in the reserves?  It sounded as if this was more recent.

  10. Right. I checked some other sites and they actually have pics of Caila with a camera crew filming her in her hometown. Could be unrelated but who knows.

Also they said the camera crew were spotted on March 2 and I'm not sure when the WTA was filmed but Caila looked really good and like her old self again. So maybe she had taken some medication on the night of WTA that made her face swell?

I had wondered if they did some test shots with her as they did with Arie when trying to decide (or to fool people) between farmer Chris and Arie.

As for her face, she didn't have much make-up on and while, normally, she lets her hair fall over her cheeks, she had both sides pulled back in a severe look, and I thought those were possibly  two reasons she didn't look "herself" as seen on the show.  She also looked a bit down.

I forgot to ask, what the hell did that even mean?

I think it meant he qualified to be with the other 'great' stone-cold dudes of the past.

  11. We may never agree on Jubilee, but I think we agree that those twins were right royal bitches!  They really pissed me off.  I remember they claimed once they had the same "job".  I really wonder what that was?

  12. I just don't get how Olivia and Jubilee got absolutely grilled when what Leah did was more horrible than anything on the entire season. She got off way too light. I loved that Ben shot daggers at her when she spoke but I wish he would've called her out more for lying.

I think no one would want to give Leah more airtime to reward her for absolute lies to everyone.

  13. When you're of an ambiguous racial makeup to some people you spend a lot of your life telling people what your race is.  Some people are demanding, almost aggressively demanding, asking exactly where your parents come from and what racial makeup you are. There are questions after questions for some of us.  Some people don't have the privilege of being able to use a one or two word shut-down answer. So you learn to identify yourself accordingly in a way to satisfy those people.  You develop a satisfactory short hand.  You come up with a simple and/or mathematical equation that will shut these people up.    It is really not meant to offend you.

I grew up in San Francisco, which has a larger Chinese population than most cities.  I'm Chinese (actually, Chinse-American since I was born here) -- and in jr high and high school, the Eurasian kids were termed "half and half" and that wasn't meant in a perjorative way, since so many of us had crushes on them because they tend to be great-looking.  We even drilled down to "1/4th Chinese" if one of the parents was Eurasian.

Even in my family, my dad's father apparently was born in Malaya, and I saw, in college, an anthropological map of the world with the Malayan representative photo having a nose just like ours, with a bump near the top and not flatter as is more common in China.  So, it's hard for people to figure out what I 'am.'  My family denies anything but 100% pure Chinese 'blood' which is another curiosity of the social scene.

Was asked all the time "What ARE you?"  and the Philippino lunch table group figured I was one of their own and would chatter at me in Tagalog which I don't understand at all.  I like it, though, that no one can 'place' me in any sure ancestral-background.

HOWEVER, when visiting Hawaii, as teenagers, my brother and I were thrilled that we were suddenly in the *majority* and we felt really good about that.  We felt as if we 'belonged' (as opposed to moving to Santa Cruz and being called "Hershey Bars" by the {white} kids -- and the odd thing is that they didn't mean anything bad about it and they just meant to joke that we were darker than they were).

But there is definitely more serious, generalized prejudice when it comes to 'blacks' or 'African-Americans' even today, in connection with interracial dating), so things can be very 'complex' for them when they're in a minority situation and we all know that the very white-focused TheBachelor is not likely to actually choose a black woman for the final proposal.

This is just a reality and it's a hard one to face when you're one of those gals.  So I imagine they all have more than the usual tensions around the entirely artificial situation of this TV reality dating show.

'Acceptance' is probably a tough word, with 'degree' being an important factor.

  14. To this and other comments about Caila's appearance I agree. She just seemed so unlike her usual upbeat, smiling self that we saw on the show. The fact that her makeup, hair, and general appearance wasn't up to par just struck me as someone who has been hurt and doesn't care anymore. I think Ben's rejection really did a number on her. Some may say she was trying to play a victim but it seemed to me as if she were more so numb and didn't realize/care what others thought of her.

Also, at one point, during the hot seat interview, after watching the awful scene, she got teary-eyed and Chris Harrison said something about it having had quite an effect on her.  So I disagree with the opinions that she was just acting.  She seemed somewhat, for her, depressed, but also WAS paying attention to the stories of the other gals and showed some empathy.  She actually listened instead of whining and attacking.  It's probably fairly difficult to face a situation in which millions of people will see how badly she was rejected and totally surprised by it after she had been encouraged to show her feelings and 'open up' just to be suddenly dumped after 'complying'  with his needs.  He got what he wanted.

  15. I just love Lauren H. She was the only one who seemed to be listening to Olivia with sympathy and understanding, and I loved her comment at the end about how Ben should make his chosen relationship work, for all their sakes. She just seems like a genuinely nice person. Plus, I thought she looked beautiful!

I don't know if she actually looks like her, but she has sometimes reminded me of Bruce Dern's daughter, Laura.

It WAS nice to see some empathy from one of the women.  Caila was showing some empathy at times too.

  16. And yes, I still think he's  a douchenozzle for screwing both of them over, but grudgingly picking one to bestow his proposal on.  Nice guy, my ass.  And his lady better not ever take her eyes off of him for a minute.  He obviously likes shiny things and changes his mind quicker than a 4 year-old on a sugar high.

Leigh?, when Ben said that he'd marry his fiance tomorrow if he could, I thought maybe she's saying to wait because she's SEEN him in action with the other gals now.  He "compartmentalizes" (he explains, or brags)  and therefore can justify how cozy he can get with so many of the other women without needing to think about the  one (or two) he "loves" because they don't matter when they're outside his current compartment, but she would liikely react the way most of us do.  It's disquieting how well he does it.

I do realize that they're not allowed to marry tomorrow, for purposes of the show, but they could do a private one first :-) but I'd tell her to wait a bit.

  17. I see some of the same behavior with Ben - getting upset at Jubilee's (very real) reactions, pushing Caila to emote. If he's not feeling it with one of the ladies, he should own it. No one's expecting him to fall in love with 26 women. Just don't blame the woman.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the two remaining women did something "wrong" (in his eyes) during their final dates, which will form the basis of elimination. My hunch is JoJo will be the unlucky recipient of blame. Lauren has played this very smoothly.

He already did it.  He was telling JoJo how much he felt for her but then said he wasn't comfortable with her brothers.  This could cause her to feel they "ruined" it for her.  I said, while watching, "Oh, sure!  Blame it on the brothers!."

  18. I saw the tears. In one shot they were laying against her lashes getting ready to fall. No they weren't running down her face but as you said she most likely wiped a lot of them away. Most people would and your right everyone doesn't cry the same way (as in copious amounts). They may have been more from anger or regret but I think in this "bach bubble" I believe she felt she loved him and they were tears of hurt also. I believe they were real tears.

When he started to tell her and she could see what he was going to say would not be great, and then he said he was falling for two but he couldn't say that to her, and he was fumbling along, tears started welling up in her eyes while she was listening.

That was not eye-drop induced.  Also, it was the first episode during which I thought she seemed most genuinely happy.

She reverted to trying to be fake-upbeat for a few seconds.  But when he said something like he'd miss her, she said, "That sounds like a line..."  and then later, "You don't have to say that" about something else, those were very real responses.

Saying  "That sounds like a line" was out of normal character for her, and I said, "GOOD FOR YOU!"  while I was watching.  He is so robotically-nice.

  19. I noticed that too. It seemed like JoJo was trying to be friendly but Lauren wasn't being receptive.

I thought her question to Lauren was something about how was she feeling, but it came across to me more like

"I hope it wasn't as good for you as it was for me?.."  to confirm what she was thinking or hoping, while Lauren seemed to be noticing that JoJo seemed super happy about how the night went.

  20. How so? A dress on the floor means nothing to me. Why would someone want to sleep in a dress? Each had other clothes with them that they were wearing in the morning. It isn't like the FS is a surprise so each had other clothes for that purpose. Or they could have slept in bra and panties, or in the buff. Doesn't mean they had intercourse. Like saber5055 said above, I have done it myself. It reallly isn't that hard (no pun intended).

While I have been hoping Ben did not have sex with all three of them (though one can't blame someone for test drives for a situation as serious as a proposal for lifetime monogamous co-sexing, but I'd hope it would be between the two most difficult to choose between),  a dress shown on the floor is meant to suggest some serious haste in unaddressing for, um, bed.  I don't know about others, but although I'm not an especially neat person (at all), I actually don't leave my clothes on the floor when I go nighty  :-)

At this point, I imagine he did not do the deed with all three, but the producers want us to think so.

    • Love 2
  21. Her cheeks were wet, and I saw tears in her eyes.

I got a kick out of Chris Harrison's reaction when Lauren told him Ben also said "I love you" -- after JoJo reported the same thing. He was fighting so hard not to show surprise.

I saw Caila's tears and wet cheeks also.  I think her giddiness when going to 'surprise' him with the camera crew following was actually genuine.    Usually, I feel that she's faking the constant upbeat stuff, but last night her happiness seemed real for once, and she probably thought the camera crew was going to just film what she felt was a time.to celebrate.

Re Chris Harrison, I got a kick out his reaction to Jo Jo's saying that Ben told her he loved her, his eyebrows went up and his eyes got bigger and his head moved quite a bit.

But later, when Lauren told him the same thing, he was trying to contain himself -- the eyebrows went up just a little and he intentionally didn't move his head much, keeping the chin up but obviously biting his lip.  I actually think he was surprised and thinking,  "What do we have here??  GOLD, maybe!"

He insists they did not know.  CH has lied in the past, of course, but if he was acting here, it was artful.

And how could CH wish for someone as 'good' as Ben for his daughter unless maybe Ben told him he kept the fantasy suite activity to intimate TALK.  (This is possible because Ben is said to be a very church-oriented guy who loves doing good deeds for less fortunate communities.)

I'm hoping the latter is true, because if he really did sleep with all three of them while playing the sweet, 'caring' guy, I'll think he's the worst kind of creep (which I'm feeling after the last two shows).  Will be happy to be shown otherwise.
