  1. I know these people are certain kinds of people to even be on reality tv… but for Kyle and Mauricio to film the conversation with their children about their marriage just shocks me. That’s a deeply emotional conversation that should be private. I’m all for Kyle to be more honest about her life for all of us viewers, but I don’t think she should have included her children (even her adult children) on film in this situation. It feels too exploitative.

Outside of the HW world, screaming at each other at a black tie charity event would be mortifying  but of course this is SOP in HW land so, yay Crystal.

    Random:

The main thing I noticed about Taylor Dane was she had a wind fan on her while performing, something I don't think I've ever seen  before in a hotel ballroom performance.  Weird.  Also, Erica singing along.  Didn't she do that at Diana's party too or somewhere?

And since I'm freezing up here in the PNW  the B-roll shots of L.A./ Beverly Hills have me wondering what it would be like to live in nice "vacation weather" every single day - and not for the first time, lol.

Aussie here: What/where is the PNW?!

Should I tell you we are heading into a 33C/91F day where I live today?! Livin’ the dream! 🏖️

I hope that this is not too off topic. I also hope that I am not breaking any rules.

So I have been trying to understand Kyle’s dysfunction. I have also been watching Paris in Love. Kathy, Kim and Kyle are still in so much pain.

All roads lead back to The House of Hilton book. I listened to one superb podcast discussion. The man points out Big Kathy’s pattern of murderous rage when she faces conflict or resistance. He believes that there must have been some trauma that shook her to the core.

Also, Big Kathy desperately wanted to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, but suffered from intense stage fright.

She coped with these two issues by trying to control every other aspect of her life. Hence, she completely messed up Kathy, Kim and Kyle by pitting them against one another, withholding love, dictating their choices.

Spoiling because it may be upsetting to anyone who has experienced abuse.

So I have a theory. I think that someone molested Big Kathy for years. Perhaps her father. Her mother failed to intervene or felt powerless. Thus, Big Kathy had no use for men, other than for their money.

Big Kathy’s relationship with women was more complicated. She had a love/hate relationship with them. I think that she also enjoyed competing with them for men. It gave her the feeling of power she craved. I think Big Kathy subconsciously thought of her mother as the competition. [I know someone whose father molested her. She has never considered a man in a committed relationship as “off limits.”]

I apologize if my theory is too simplistic or completely off. But I have been thinking about this for several weeks. Of course, no one has come forward to verify anything in the book, but a lot of the behavior I see on these shows aligns with what the book alleges.

And I really, really hope that I didn’t offend anyone.

I think that this is one reason Kyle repeatedly guides her minions in ganging up on one woman. Kyle is never more delighted than when other women are battling one another. Big Kathy rewarded this dynamic. Kyle disappointed Big Kathy, compared to child star Kim and Hilton wife Kathy, so this is the only way she can prove herself.

All just me speculating, and talking out of my elbow.

I think you have a sound theory! 👏

  4. I thought Ms singer ‘whatever her name is’ choosing to sing a song with the first line about taking your clothes off was soooo inappropriate for a memorial get together. I’m okay about Kyle being gooey eyes over Ms Singer if it’s a real relationship but I’m cynical about Ms Singer getting airtime on this show being a driver. Ms Singer doesn’t seem to be into Kyle as much as Kyle is waaaaaay into her.

  5. Sutton is definitely Kyle’s punching bag, because Sutton won’t bite back too hard. Easy target. Kyle would never take out her aggression on Garcelle or Erika.

What gives Kyle the right to act like a toddler and rain down on Sutton so hard? I wish Sutton could find her words faster and tell Kyle to cut it out. Why is Sutton allowing Kyle to be so aggressive with her? It can’t just be Southern manners, surely?

I DVR’d this, but did see the very end. I liked Tamra saying to Andy, “If you have me back…”

The viewer who e-mailed saying this was the best OC season ever…I’ll have whatever he’s smoking. I found this season to be a hot, confusing mess with totally unnecessary pile-ons.

Could THAT be the reason why she took a lot of heat this season? That, and her condescension toward others?  People get their bellyful of humble bragging. It just may have hit critical mass this year.

Maybe they are writing a “grand exit” script for Heather.

Will Heather end up on RHoBH?! That would be a better fit for her.

  7. It says something (to me) about this new iteration of RHoNY that I don’t race here to post something…and when I get here I can’t think of anything to say about the episode!

It’s just not interesting enough. I’ll go further to say that it is mostly tedious. That can’t be a good recipe for a reality show?

  8. Jenna and her body dysmorphia is hard to watch. No matter how she got there, I just wish she could let go and enjoy herself instead of watching everyone frolic in the water while she’s on the beach under a bedsheet. Her body is the type aspired to in the fashion world yet she thinks she has a tummy (convo with her  brother). Her skin has discolouration in places and she was teased for it as a child (time to get past the childhood trauma of that and act like you don’t care.)

I know her childhood trauma is very real and still impacts her. I would have thought she would have gotten therapy by now as it’s negatively impacting her life. I like her and felt so sad that her insecurities are still so strong that she sits on the sidelines. It’s hard to watch as I cycle from understanding to being frustrated with her and back again.

I say this with much love and I'm saying it to myself too:  We will never ever get a HW show as good as those early season NYs.  We will never get a "even Louis Vuitton makes mistakes" ever again.  we will never get a "i'm up here and you're down here"  ever again.  They're gone and we must carry on without them.

WtF was the wreath making craft fair in the storefront cheaply decorated diner/pop up/bar?  Our former NYC gals would have walked out of that hot mess of an "event"   Correct me if I"m wrong but didn't at one point Ramona straight out tell LEah "I don't go downtown".  Ahhhhh I long for the days of yore.

I doubt we will ever scrape past 2 or 3 pages of comments per episode here too 🙁.

  10. The most obnoxious thing is complaining about a gift… a gift! I didn’t see anyone else giving gifts either.

I’m having a hard time enjoying this iteration… they are too self absorbed, and self conscious and just too negative (not enjoyable tv viewing)…. except Jenna… she is adorably uncomfortable and trying to make it nice. I would keep her but the others are just oxygen thieves. (My vote is out on Ubah as she has been missing a while).

  11. Someone needs to remove that huge stick Erin has up her arse and just hit her over the head with it…. I’m not violent but she’s driving me crazy with her attitude. WHAT is so MISERABLE in her life that she needs to have her dial set to ‘miserable bitch’ all the time? This woman is not enjoyable to watch on tv. Permanently unhappy/bitchy/smug/complaining.

    Ps

I did not appreciate Sai spilling the beans about Jenna’s ‘real name’ Judith. Jenna took it with good grace, but it’s really her story to share, even once it’s public knowledge. I didn’t think Sai shared it with a good intention either; I felt like she did it to stir things up because she didn’t share it with a particularly friendly tone.

  12. As a long time Shannon fan, it pains me to type this, but it’s true: Shannon calling Heather manipulative is Shannon describing herself. I’m over Shannon manipulating everyone with her perpetual victimhood. I suspect the producers are over this too. Examples: they highlighted the difference between the exoneration program with the housewives (most of them but notably not Shannon) describing how humbled they are by what the exonerees have gone through. They describe how it puts perspective onto things in their own lives when they think they are having a hard time…..cut to Shannon freaking out about people talking about her “behind my back” and crying over people not attending her party.

Second example of how the producers are feeling about Shannon: the duh duh duh villain music they played as Shannon was arriving to have lunch with Emily 😆
